  2. glad to see peace and happy to see the lack of terms to this peace.
  3. i have no clue. i didn't keep track of him that much after Pacifica. It was Random's job.
  4. To my knowledge Pius went to Pacifica and slowly withered away or some such.
  5. holy !@#$ ain't seen ya in a longs while. how ya doin man? also sup KDII, i think you are officially the closest person other than me in this thread. @Elbows- sup man, nother person i have not seen in a while. @FF- i was never really intimidated by any of the Polar old guards, though i guess cuz i was one of them methinks....... nor the Pacifican old guards. fun times fun times.
  6. yeah, i have to say the main reason was due to me being far more active than i am currently. Also, i was diplomat to a small and young FAN at that time.
  7. frankly, i don't really care about FAN all that much. While yes, it would be nice to see them freed, FAN is one of the alliances that will most likely rebuild and 6 months, a year, 2 years would be back at war with NPO and allies. I don't see them as the forgetting or letting go of a grudge type alliance. As for the using any tactics in a war, yes it is a good thing to help out the underdogs some but in the end, it reflects upon the nature of your alliance and the people within. Even if FAN or Vox got freed and vowed to have removed or stop using their spies, i would never believe nor trust them in the least. Unfortunately, when you go the route that FAN has, you lose all credibility and trust. Sure i respect them for holding onto their principles for this long war but i don't trust them, nor view them as a credible alliance in the least. Nor would i once they were free. They would be the same FAN that spied, stole money from alliances, and pulled any and all dirty-handed tactics regardless of the reasons behind it. Just because they do not have the reasons, does not mean they would change overnight. It would take a long time for them to truly gain any credibility or trust.
  8. To be honest, i miss the time when prior to WUT. A good tight knit group of Polars rebuilding after a harsh war. This was repeated after the SPW but was not as tight knit in my opinion.
  9. You are glad they survived but rather have them under the jackboot of NPO or disbanded? You certainly can't want to have them as a sovereign alliance capable of making their own decisions. Yes, the IAA fought and fought hard for GATO. I am fairly certain GATO has not nor will ever forget that. What you need to remember is that holding grudges are for the weak, while rebuilding and moving on is for the strong. GATO has become strong, you seem to remain weak.
  10. Criticism is one thing, what many are doing here is tantamount to stating that GATO should not control their own FA since it is not in line with what the "Free GATO" crowd. To me it seems as if many in the "Free GATO" crowd truly meant "Free GATO so we may rule them instead". Many of these are also the same that cheered Polaris when they rose to sanction under terms and then booed and jeered them when they signed with Pacifica and Valhalla after the terms were over. Vox and many others simply want to try and establish an anti-NPO bloc or rip NPO out of the MDP web completely. If an alliance they once cheered for, does something they don't like, then all of a sudden, they boo and hiss and gnash their teeth. frankly, it is ridiculous and goes against their vaunted "Sovereignty for all alliances" type lines and mottoes. Just because GATO decided to sign a PIAT with Pacifica does not mean that Pacifica still has a jackboot on GATO's throat. to state it does means that you do not think that GATO is a sovereign alliance. That is far more than just criticism.
  11. I have to agree with this. Frankly, while it may not be everything that was wanted, change has been made. That is a good thing regardless of whatever the reason is behind the change. The change is what matters, not the reason.
  12. I got the fresh diapers ready and waiting just in case the potty training does not go according to plan. happy b-day NV.
  13. lawlzworthy along with the rest. A PIAT means nothing. it is a little better than a NAP. It means that GATO and NPO have been quite close for a year. Who knows, maybe NPO was nice and rubbed GATOs belly everyday and scooped the kitty litter regularly (sorry had to play that joke ) and GATO while chafing at the leash to be free, considered that when offered a PIAT, NPO was not sooooooo bad and it was a step towards relations that could exist in the future. or we could see this get canceled in the future. what you are basically saying is the same as all the other gnashers of teeth. GATO should have done what you wanted versus what they wanted to do. Frankly, as a the sovereign alliance GATO is now, your respect and advice is most likely not needed or wanted.
  14. Well to be honest that is how it seems. It seems that GATO must do as everyone else wants and only treaty whom those who lobbied for their freedom want them to treaty with. Frankly, that is just another form of viceroyalty for GATO. The same happened with Polaris when they signed with Valhalla and Pacifica. People were whining and complaining that they did that. GATO is free. Let them do as THEY please and not what everyone else wants. If those who lobbied for them truly wanted them to be free, then they would not complain. If they wanted GATO to be free to take part in an anti-NPO crusade, then that is not truly wishing them to be free. It is wishing GATO be free to do as those who lobbied for them want. And that is simply replacing one viceroyalty for yet another.
  15. To be honest, i never thought i would say something good about GATO ever. But that changed a few months back.
