Improvement Swap

Recommended Posts

I heard a rumor that it was possible to do a 20 day improvement swap if you collect taxes *right after* the update.

Can anyone confirm or deny that? Has anyone actually done one?

And, if so, what kind of time frame are we looking at before you are deleted? 2 minutes? 10?

Thanks,

Samilia

AFAIK nations are deleted manually on day 20, not automatically.

I know someone in my alliance who risked a 20day collection in TE and collected within seconds after clicking over to day 20, (they had been Anarchied on day 18 so this was the only way to collect 20days out of Anarchy).

I've seen nations make it several hours into day 20, but sometimes it could happen minutes after, depends when whoever is doing the cleanup gets around to it.

All in all, not worth the risk, just collect on day 19

You can but it is not worth the risk. Admin runs a program manually every day. When he runs it the nations 20 days inactive will be deleted. If you collect before then your safe but if not then yoru dead. Not worht the risk.

Why risk this for a day of back collect?

or maybe we should convince admin to have another kid and maybe we will have 40 day inactives :)

Some starting nations do the 3x 15million aid trick, combined with a donation you can jump huge as a starting nation, you can easely have 3500 infra in 20 days :)

One guy in fok did this in the past :)

I have heard that it can depend on when your nation was created, but cannot confirm that.

I have seen Gremlins do 20 day collect due to anarchy and sometimes it pays off.

However, I wouldn't take the chance... and if you are you should collect the second after update.

I have the answer to that, but you have to join Ragnarok to Find out. :awesome: (no joke)

I'll tell you guys this much. Admin has a script that runs automatically 5 times a day.

3am-8am-1pm-6pm-11pm CN Server Time. Can you figure out the variables for deletion?

Think last tax collection.

Hey Admin!/Mods. Am I right or am I right? Why isn't this common knowledge?

Then why on occasion do we have 21 day inactive nations if it's not run manually?

While I can't verify Jeb the Wise's claim (seem plausible to me though), if it is correct, and you last collected taxes after 11pm, then the 11pm run wouldn't catch your nation since you aren't really 20 days inactive, assuming we're counting from last collection time, not the last update before collection. The 3am run the following day would, but by that time you'd be 21 days inactive, counting from update.

I'm not sure that made any sense... makes sense in my head but it seems hard to explain.

You are correct raskull. Nations that collected 20 days ago between 11:00:001pm and 2:59:59am will not be deleted until 3am. So between update and 3am you will find nations who are 21 days inactive.

Also nations being deleted on day 19 for inactivity is a myth.

I understand the premise and if it were true, we should see more 21 day inactive nations than we do. I myself was subject to being deleted a while back due to computer problems and based on the believed times that the script is automatically run, I shouldn't be here. At the time I had last collected right after update so based on this theory on day 20, the 3am running of the script should have deleted my nation and it didn't. Nor did the listed runtimes of 8am, 1pm, or 6pm before I managed to get logged in and collect. This has come up many times before. And there have been a number of threads started by those who thought the inactivity deletion was based on the collection time similar as is being suggested here to be found incorrect when their nation was deleted prior to the time they expected.

I'm going to test the claim ;)

If its correct, 47 nations are due to be deleted at Server time of 11pm tonight (20mins away)... which would make Utopia of Pink the nation that as gone the longest since collection. (currently it is a nation called Garrigania).

Well, thats exactly what happened... So I'm a believer.

The nation in the game that has gone longerst without collecting is now Utopia of Pink.

For those wondering how I figured it out, I copied the text used in the URL when you sort your alliance by last collection, and pasted that into the URL when yuo list all nations in the game:

http://www.cybernations.net/allNations_dis..._Tax_Collection

It doesn't display the last collection on that screen, you have to go into each nation to have a look, but they are ordered by it.

I read those threads, Count Rupert, In my search for these answers a month ago.

Here are Vivi's and Admins replies:

Nations that are 20 days inactive get deleted at a random time during their 20th day.
This is correct.

Whether I'm wrong or not Why doesn't Admin want us to know.

Why say it's random Vivi, when it's clearly not?

To be fair, perhaps these scripts were implemented after Feb 2008

Does this mean Admin will change the script now? :P

Why let people beleive Admin would run this deletion script manually or randomly? To keep us on our toes?

Look, I documented a 24 hour period of nations being deleted using the method Jack Shepard mentioned.

The script ran on the second of each time I listed. I saw the nations disappear with my own eyes. Admins not that good.

The script that deletes inactive nations in CN runs 5 times a day: 3am-8am-1pm-6pm-11pm CN Server Time

When the script runs, it's basic command is "If any nation hasn't collected taxes in 480 hours or more, delete."

I got screen shots and details and I posted a whole hullabaloo about it in Ragnarok's internal forums.

Admin and Mods please feel free to confirm or deny and please do not lock after doing so. :)

We may want to discuss your answers.

thanks
