Unfortunate. The Commonwealth preaches democracy yet refuses to allow it to happen. When offered a solution to end the bloodshed, they instead spit in its face. Hopefully other nations will now realize the Commonwealth's true colors and will support the rightful regime in the area, the Imperial Family.

All trade relations with the Commonwealth have been cut off, all diplomatic relations frozen, any Commonwealth monies in Federation banks frozen, and Federation shipping lanes are now closed to the Commonwealth. The Federation no longer recognizes the Commonwealth as a country or sovereign entity.

Seeing the actions undertaken by the Federation the Islands of Ice have also decided to follow suit but are instead not recognising the Federation. Whilst this has no real effect on them its the gesture that counts.

Message to the Tahoe Republic

The only way to restore the Reich is through war. However, if we do not recieve the backing of your nation we will not continue to fight on behalf of the Imperial Family. Our military is not yet ready to fight a long term, full scale conflict of this magnitude. Should this come to pass we request that you mediate any peace talks between the Commonwealth of Texas and the Confederacy of Mexico.

OOC: Its pretty hard to surrond 5,000 fortifed troops so close to our borders w/o going through my territory and crossing the river to do it. You RPed none of these actions, so I simply reinforced because you left these routes open.

Military Actions

A full scale relocation has been intitated. Edinburgh city has been evacuated, with Confederate forces falling back to behind the Rio Grande. The Confederates in Cameron have also pulled back behind the border, linking up with the Hidalgo troops and reoccupying the Confederate defense system on their side of the river. The Confederates in Starr County, under heavy enemy fire, would take several days to remove all of their forces from the county. With only a small skellton battalion of 1,000 Confederates remaining in Starr, the Confederates dug in and prepared for an attack on Mexico.

Message to the Commonwealth of Texas

Hostilities on our part will cease, effective immediatly. Withdrawal from your territory has begun and will finish within the fortnight. Hopefully now we can discuss a peace settlement.

Statement to the World

As requested by the Tahoe Republic, we have ceased hostilities in Texas and have pulled our Army back behind the Rio Grande. Let no man say that the Confederacy of Mexico is not among the peaceful nations of the world.

Strategic Bombers and fighters from the Dragon Empire begin to cross the old Mexican Protectorate as the new American Reich holdings had not yet been recognized by the Empire or organized. Having been intercepted and fired upon by Tahoe, they turned south towards Holy Imperium where they could refuel and get transit clearance. If they survived the air battle, they would arrive at airfields in Dallas Fort-Worth and Houston in support of Texas. In total, there was an air wing of Leviathans and an air wing of MIG-35s of Cochin's make and model, but Dragonisia's ownership. Given that the CFNA had withdrawn.. the bombers and fighters were set to routine patrols until other aggressors moved against the small state.

"We assure Texas that they should not feel any pressure to change their government based on external opinions. If you are placed under trade Embargo by your neighbors for being free, we will gladly make up for the difference in that Embargo with trade." Tidus noted.

This just in: The Commonwealth of Texas WILL NOT hold an election to see if the people want the Vertedeiger family back into power. They had the chance and they didn't take it.

"That would be a very unwise move. We URGE the Commonwealth of Texas to hold elections. We fear that if you fail to do so, your support and backing will plummet and you will be left to your own devices, which would highly jeopardize the Commonwealth's existence."

As the Dragon Empire aircraft came within 200 miles of the Mexican Coast Line, Tahoan fighter aircraft alerted by radar took to the sky to intercept the foreign aircraft which were given the ultimatum to turn around or be shot down.

Because only two squadons were stationed along the west coast of the Protectorate, aircraft from other areas immediately raced to reinforce.

After the Dragonisian Aircraft failed to heed the order to turn around they began being fired upon at extreme long range. The vastly superior Tahoan aircraft began launching missiles before going to afterburner to escape before a retaliatory strike. Even though the aircraft were made by Cochin, and therefore of superior quality than Dragonisian made aircraft, they stood no match for the extremely advanced Tahoan aircraft launching highly advanced missiles that very likely could be defeated only by countermeasures made in the RA, Viniland or Austria, the other superpowers.

A public announcement was made stating that the Dragon Empire violated Tahoan airspace and were fired upon along with an announcement of general mobilization of the military. The South Pacific squadron moved into position to link up with the Pacific Far East Fleet and carrier battlegroup.

"Global allies, it is with great regret that I must inform you that during a Transit sortie over the Pacific to the state of Texas, which was welcoming our presence as a defender against unwarranted aggression by neighboring states, that the Tahoe Empire fired upon our aircraft. The broadcast transmissions were made available throughout the world by HAM radio. This infringes on the right of sovereign states to defend and protect their allies and to do business with other states abroad and is against common decency. Our fighters and bombers were told to treat Tahoe pilots with respect and not to engage them, but were forced to defend themselves. At this time, we call upon the AUP, The Eurasian Pact, and all states of good conscience willing to take up the fight.. to declare war on a state that we have suspected for so long of having a very oppressive bent.. now confirmed by their most recent actions. Who will stand by my side, and help fight for the rights of nations around the globe to be free to do business and make friends.. with whomever they wish? To fight.. for freedom from oppression?"

The Helzan population has been ordered to take shelter until the conflict settles due to possible world reaching consequences. The Defcon level has been lowered to level 2 and the waters surronding our nation are now cut off to all nations bar Artica.

ooc: Then our airforces are somewhat comparable. i never lost my UFE mockups, but I didn't send my best planes for this mission either. I'm not whining, it's just that the way you wrote it looked assumptive of capabilities.

ic: Of the 10 Mig-35s escorting the 10 bombers in the group, two were shot down in the first salvos fired by the Tahoe aircraft.. the rest jinked and got out of the way. In anticipation that this would occur, the B-52H's had actually been outfitted with Generation 6 AAM Drop racks in case the flight was intercepted. While the fighters bobbed and weaved and fought with the Tahoan fighters, it was possible that the threat from the bombers wasn't recognized. Dropped from the bombays of all 10 bombers were AAM racks, each containing 6 of these extremely high speed missiles. They were locked onto their targets indirectly by the radars of the fighter planes.. instead of the bombers radars.. which gave the missiles the best vectors and tracking. So. as the Mig-35s were fighting for their lives, trying to defend themselves and the bombers were attacking the enemy fighters. The jamming mechanisms utilized failed because the missiles used multi-tracking vectors including radar, infra-red, optical, and a laser sensor. They knew if they were intercepted, they would be fighting the best, so they brought multi-spectrum tracking ammunition.

They hoped their escorts would hold out against the fighters.. and braced for the worst. Once their loads were away, those who could began to don their oceanic survival gear as rapidly as possible.

"Holy **** I can't shake these ****ers!" Came the proclamation from one of the MIGs as minutes later one of the highly advanced missiles impacted his aircraft.. sending it into a fireball. 3 parachutes now drifted lazily over the oceans.

17/20 aircraft remained in the mixed aircraft, 2-wing flight.

edit: For accuracy. I'd said 10 fighters had dropped the AAM racks, should have been 10 bombers. 2 fighters had already been shot down. Fixed.

We will also emphasize that while we have legal ties to both countries, it is common knowledge that our ties with Tahoe are stronger."

All thirty ships stationed in Texan waters have been ordered to return to the port of Recife, while all 150,000 troops and 1,500 tanks have been ordered to return home via protectorate land. Given the new developments, the mobilized troops will remain in such condition and the Defcon level remain the same.
