Storming the Desert

The news came in rather abruptly. Slaughter. Hundreds to thousands dead. Supposedly former German forces. In the protectorate. On the border...

All it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men to be silent. This is what rang in the heads of a few good men. Indeed, they would not be silent, it was time. It had been in planning since the start of the day, from the moment the evil deeds had become known. Soon enough, it was ready.

----------------------------

On the Rebel Army-Sandwüstes Reich border, a large amount of motorized, armoured, and mechanized units could be seen from miles away. The most common of them all through, was the RA's desert tank/amphibious tank/tank personnel carrier, or as the troops called it, the Tank-PC (TPC). There wasn't a single unit on foot, desert operations are best done by motorized divisions. Somewhere in the middle of that sea of units, a man popped out from the hatch of a tank, and began to cry towards all the soldiers. "Today, we don't march for justice, for freedom, or for some sort of bull politics. Today we march for what is right! For survival! For our brothers and sisters who we sworn to protect! Humanity has shown time and time again, if you do not do something, that horrors will take place. From beating to massacres, slavery to gassing, the worst acts that could happen, have. Now, who's with me to give these Einzatsgruppen what they deserve!"

Cheers and war cries erupted from the hundreds of thousands of soldiers on the border. Many even came out of their tanks and TPCs for a few moments, even if just to throw a fist in the air. Seeing the effect of his speech, Lavo Shalam cried once more. "Now, let's show these ************* how to do a Blitzkrieg!" The moment that was said, Vipers, Vindicators, and Orcas soared overhead, streaking toward the heart of the Reich. Then the troops marched onwards, it was time for war.

The declaration of war came as a shock of all within he high command but they did not hesitate. The battle was on. The Reich boasted a defensive force of nearly 500,000. Binded by the constitution these men could not be sent into foreign nations, but there was other means of doing that. 200,00 along with 2,000 tanks where already on the border building a fence when Rebel Army troops where spotted they quickly mobilized a defence behind the fortifications they had already finished. Meanwhile aircraft squadrons where mobilized and began bombarding the invading forces.

MESSEGE TO REBEL ARMY

We offer peace, but will fight to the last man in the case of survival.

Binded by the constitution these men could not be sent into foreign nations, but there was other means of doing that. 400,00 along with 2,000 tanks where already on the border building a fence when Rebel Army troops where spotted they quickly mobilized a defence behind the fortifications they had already finished. OOC: Actually, you can have the following forces on land:

Maximum soldier amount times ten, in your case something like 480k men.

Maximum tank amount, in your case ~4.8k tanks or whatever. The IC-modifiers that boost your men do not apply in CNRP. We have other scales for soldier-efficiency.

Miri wishes luck to the Rebel Army troops and hope they succeed against the undisciplined, ignorant, horrid leaders.

Our men are highly trained soldiers of the German army. We will fiercly defend our lands as Rebel Army prolongs our struggle for survival. Such wars have been faught throughout history and we see this one the quenching of thirst for battle by Rebel Army.

OOC: You don't have that much soldiers, considering that you have 900,000 troops. Remember, your CNRP troops are 10x of your IG nation's soldiers. In fact, you have not RPed the defense building earlier, meaning that your defenses are null or they are flimsy. Its impossible to build decent defenses within a hour or two.

OOC: Lynneth's right. It's not possible to mobilize to 900,000 soldiers, at your level. Even I would be hard-pressed to do so. ;)

OOC: Edited still getting a hang of things. The fences BTW are just high gates easily pushed over by tanks, which I do not think RA has. Either way they where only meant to keep out undocumented peoples.

OOC: I on the other hand, would be capable of mobilizing ~960k. <3

Now, let us stop the OOC and them continue the war.

Message to Sandwüstes Reich

You do realize, that you are in our protectorate? You did not even notify us before you declared your existance, let alone when you arrived. Remember the handful of actual soldiers you ran into (whom escaped)? They are ours.

The RAF Vipers quickly engaged the incoming Germans. Firing off long range Alto 2 ATA missiles, many of them would hopefully be picked off before they could launch a bullet at the ground forces. Vindicators acted quickly, bombing what very few makeshift defenses the Germans had, from static fortifications to elastic units. Orcas would begin by turning tanks into piecemeal, shredding them with 30mm DU rounds or blowing them apart with missiles. On the ground, enemy armour became the priority target for the RA forces, as once they were gone, the infantry would fall. Artillery groups would target infantry for the most part, enough to hopefully get rid of some, and enough to sow confusion and distress. Within the Sandwüstes Reich itself, the 200 000 soldiers stationed as a protection force had regrouped into divisions of 20 000 men, and they pushed forwards, heading towards the government district and hypothesized nuclear silos. Once they got the coordinates of a nuclear silo, they would ether storm it themselves or radio a Vindicator to drop a few super-bunker busters on it.

OOC: NOT true. You can build good, basic land-based defenses (such as wire fences, fighting holes, berms) VERY quickly given enough men and motivation, of which he posesses both in spades. Good infantry based defenses are not time consuming when lives are on the line.

OOC: I was thinking he used concrete and building defenses that can handle heavy artillery/tank fires and bombings.

Rebel Army's attack did well innitially. The gates had fallen quickly and the large German force was being hit heavily, but the Rebel Army had ignored one important factor. The German airforce had been ignored and where now striking at RAF Vipers, Orcas, and Vindicators. With the succesful bombing the men and tanks rushed in a swift advance bringing the battle to close quarters. The army split into groups of 15,000 allowing 10 mile space between them. Moving more swiftly as smaller groups and with vhicular support they would surround the Rebel Army forces and decimate them as their aircraft would bomb and strife the RA infantry and vehicles.

OOC: But he also has 17 nukes O_O. I'm not sure how CNRP looks at that but given how the enemy was described as a line of tanks it sounded like they were pretty close together and ripe for a nuking. :P Nazis with nukes... that's kind of a terrifying thought if you think about it X_X. What happens if those come into play?

IC: The Aether Empire would send support to rid the world of this past element but we see that the Rebel Army is handling it wonderfully and our forces would only be in the way.

OOC: You can't possibly win like that. The victory isn't yours until you put grunts on the ground and have them stick a flag in it. Besides that, a well trained Panzer-killer team, or a group of guys with AA weapons...well, it wouldn't look swell for you. You might destroy large buildings and make high-density kills while their still packed together, but the moment they start going to ground they will strike like bloody murder. It is NOT hard to get a critical, catastrophic, or mobility kill on a tank, and tankers and pilots have to eat and sleep sometime.

The Germans had forgotten one thing in the air, the ruthlessness of the RAF. As long as there was a single enemy aircraft in the sky, they would be hunted. Never mind the fact that nearly all of the RAF's Viper force was in the air for the sole purpose of downing the enemy's birds. Soon after the initial assault had begun, Vipers flew CAP missions over the 10 divisions, to give them support. H/T-VTOLs and C/T-VTOLs would soon be bringing vital supplies, reinforcements, and even some ground support. Noting the inbound forces, the RA divisions dug in, preparing for an assault.
