A diplomatic message arrived in the office of Foreign Affairs in Saboria requesting a specialist visa for one, "Dr. Gregory Karnell", Information Systems PHD, Genetics PHD, Microbiology PHD. The team leader on Chairman Maelstrom Vortex's Principle care team. Additionally a landing time and flight path request for a private commercial jet were filed.

The request for the S. visa was answered relatively fast, but only slightly faster than usual. It was approved.

The flight path would be that of any commercial jet, though the Doctor's plane would land on Ferinh Airport East, which was reserved for emregencies and important visits, such as this one. He could come basically whenever he wanted, as long as they transmitted a special code after the landing-request, so the people in the tower knew it was an important visit. That code was sent together with the other information.

10 hours later..

"This is DEF (Dragon Empire Flight) 390. Requesting clearance for landing from Ferinh Airport East tower on the appropriate runway. Code clearance is 4277742, we have a special package. Over."

Tower responded, "You are clear to land, use runway 2 South to North Approach path. Follow your indicators, over."

"Copy that, over."

The pilots glided the planes to a smooth landing and were guided to a special hangar where a special security detail was waiting..

Once the plane was within the hangar, the big doors through which it came were closed, and the lights were activated.

Interestingly, one of the men assigned to guard the good Doctor was a Captain Price, officially just an agent of the Saborian CIA, unofficially leader of the BNops, special operatives second to none in skill and training. Luckily, nobody knew about the part with the BNops, so the Doctor would likely just assume that he was being guarded well.

Additionally, Price was currently assigned as leader of the guards for Dr. Karnell.

Once the multiple PHD had exited the plane, Price welcomed him. "Dr. Karnell, welcome to Saboria. You're here to talk with some of our doctors about a quite...important patient of yours, yes?"

The Hangar had, prior to the landing, been controlled so that all this could happen in total secrecy, without the possibility of enemy agents listening in.

"Indeed I am." It appeared a briefcase was handcuffed to his wrist as he left the plane. "And a very special project we've been working on for a very special patient. My nation is behind a bit in its technology so our equipment isn't up to speed. With our many friendship treaties.. I have studied abroad much and know there is a lot that could be done for him.. if only we had the right equipment. So you could say, I'm a bit ahead of my own people. I'm sure you know where I need to go, so please take the lead. If you're uncertain of where I need to go, then I'd recommend to the nation's lead genetic engineering or medical facility. Also, to who do I owe the honor of being my escort?"

"The name's Price, Sir. Now, please follow me and I'll bring you to the Ferinh General Hospital. It's the most modern medical facility in the nation and if they can't find a cure or treatment, then I'm quite sure nobody can."

Price turned around and lead the man to an elevator, which would bring the two down, below the surface. There, a black - quite likely armoured - car with one-directional windows waited for them.

"If you have any questions, just ask me.", Price said before opening a door to let the Doctor get into the car. He would then close the door and get into the car as driver.

The Doctor sat in the car and spoke to Price, "Pleasure meeting you, Mr. Price. I've not got a lot in the way of questions for you unless you're extremely well studied in genetics. I have more questions than I can possibly list in mind for the scientists and doctors of this nation as well as a proposal in my briefcase for a joint experiment that may garner their interest, as well as mine, for a very.. very long time. I am the leader of a project known in the Dragon Impire as the "Image of God". I know Saboria's not a very religious nation, but I'm sure they're probably aware of to what it alludes. The creation story of Genesis. To make a long story short, the Empire's people are seeking mastery over themselves.. instead of the world around them.. as many nations are. We seek a different path in our technology, a path of internal or self-exploration as the universe within us is so much more important than the universe without ever shall be. We basically want to be able to make ourselves into whatever we should need to be.. and the Chairman has a very specific idea in mind. To get you an idea..." He flips open his briefcase, then the laptop that sat inside.

"This software was partly developed in Rockport, the Operating system comes from Triyun. You could say I love to travel." After a few minutes of navigating applications, the doctor had brought up a screen which on one side showed a 30 chromosome pair structure. In a small sidebar was a list of potential gene pairings. The image on the left showed what appeared to be a man that was still at least half human, but had many peculiar aspects. It had the dental plan and jaw structure of a great white shark. The iris was slitted and cat-like. There were small pits along the nose. The tongue structure was faintly modified and appeared slicker.. stickier. The skin of the entity was of a dense scale strucutre that was a deep green, but changed color also over time. On the far left in another bar.. was a "pre-programmed feature's list". In the list were electric eel-bioshock, human photosynthesis, eagle optics, cat night sight.. and others. The overall entity looked somewhere between man and lizard with sharp angular jaw feature, claws. The beginning of horns and even wings. The muscle structure was lean and powerful. The spine inbuilt with the flexibility of a cat.

"This is what the Chairman wants to be. The creature is designed with a high rate of regeneration based on chameleon dna and a high level of resistance to radioactivity through density of tissue structure. It should let the Chairman recover.. be an living symbol of our country.. and make him robustly healthy beyond human norms eventually. Anyway, that's the hope. I already have many theoretical ideas on how it could be done, this is what I hope your scientists and doctors can confirm or deny with me." Karnell would explain.

Price peeked occasionally to the Laptop, but mostly was busy with driving after leaving the underground part of the hangar. It was, unfortunately, Rush-hour, and thus hundreds of thousands of cars were on the streets, though almost half of them were 'clean' cars, driving only with electricity.

"Well, sounds interesting. The Chairman surely will be interested in that stuff."

It didn't take very long, despite rush-hour, to reach the General Hospital. Once there, Price would stop at the visitor's parking lot, as close as he could get to the hospital. He then got out and helped the doctor out, as well. "Unfortunately, we haven't built a secret passageway to the hospital yet." he said, underlining the joke by chuckling a bit. After this, he would bring the Doctor into the Hospital.

And in reality, such a tunnel was actually in construction, for secret movements of the CIA, Chairman, BNops or whoever needed it.

"No one will ever be entirely secure without imprisoning themselves." The Doctor would was philosophically as he was escorted inside after closing up his laptop and briefcase. He had waited to close it until the last minute.. showing his fixation with his work. He let Price lead him wherever they may be destined. "So who will I be speaking to first?"

"You'll be talking to Doctor Generosa and Professor Leclerc, from what I know."

Price lead Karnell into the building and to the highest floor, where the office of the Head Doctor for Medical Research was located. The office of Dr. Generosa.

"Go in, Sir. I'll guard here, outside."

"Thank you, Mr. Price." He walked in and to the desk across from which were his peers from another land, "Greetings, Doctor Generosa.. Professor Leclerc. I am Doctor Gregory Karnell. I come here in a spirit of friendship from my nation. I am of the understanding you are willing to help us with our humanitarian mission to try to save the life of the Chairman of our nation. Given that.. we would like to let you in on a little secret.. and to see what you think of it." He punched up the Genesis Imaging System on his computer screen and turned it around to face them, on the same screens he had available in the car.

"This is our goal. I've even worked out some possibilities on how it may be achieved. Although you may know more. What are your thoughts?"

"A secret that you share is no longer a secret. However, we shall keep it as it is - secret - if you keep certain things that we have in secret.", the man sitting on the desk said. To his left, standing at a window and looking towards Dr. Karnell was the second man. The sitting one continued, "I'm Doctor Josef Generosa, and this here is-"

He was promptly cut off by the other man, evidently looking like he had russian heritage. "Professor Fjodor Leclerc. Also known as Chairman Leclerc. It is an honour, Doctor Karnell." Leclerc bowed slightly, then continued. "What you have there are quite interesting ambitions - and we may be capable of fulfilling parts of them. Now, aside from the plans that you have...What is the actual affliction of your Chairman, if I may ask?"

OOC: Leclerc still is the lead genetic scientist of Saboria, despite his job as Chairman. :awesome:

"Chairmain Leclerc, He personally participated in the fall out clean up from a rogue nuclear incident this past July. He put his own safety aside and may have been responsible for saving many lives in the process of those who managed to seek shelter from the blast or need supplies. He was exposed to at least what would be considered to some a life-dose or terminal level of radiation and his body is in a state of degrade. Cancer consumes him and he is susceptible to disease. We have treated what we can. To stave off the decay of his tissues we have been introducing chameleon dna into select tissues and been using some stem cells that we have been stimulating into different roles in order to repair other areas. Our best doctors and scientists treating him, including myself, have given him only 5 years to live at the most with our best efforts." He sighed. "The man has done so much for our country.. even now he continues to help unify others in peace under his banners.. we only hope we can do the same for him as he has done for us."

Both the Chairman and the Doctor nod, after which Dr. Generosa talks, "We will do what we can to help your leader. However, it will take a few days reviewing all files and information that you have gathered until now. Once that is done, we will be able to determine the next steps, though it is likely that he will have to be transferred into this hospital for the optimal treatment. Yoou can, of course, send a doctor or two to accompany him, as your men surely know him much better than we do."

Then, it was the Chairman's turn. He examined Dr. Karnell's "plan" on the laptop, with Generosa simply watching. "This is a quite interesting program you have here, if somewhat outdated for our standards. Not the program itself, mind you, but the content." The Chairman turned to smiles at he Dragonisian man. "Saboria is, unknown to the world, the leader in the genetic sciences. There are many things we can do...However, we have, until now, only used this on foeti. It may be somewhat difficult adjusting our work to a fully grown man.Usually, there would be a possibility that the immune system simply kills the new cells or the body rejects them. As your Chairman's body is heavily damaged, likely in all ways known to me, it may be easier getting newly modified cells into him - However, there are always risks. Risks that could be deadly, especially for one without an immune system."

"This has already been factored into my planning. My research suggests he should be suspended in a perfluorocarbon solution in a semi-amniotic fluid style mix and maintained in a state of sleep as the changes could actually become painful at some points. The first steps that should be taken is the conditioning of the immune system. Since the newly proposed model of himself is based upon modifications of his own DNA; altering the immune system prior to an attempted conversion via T-Cell targeting nano-technology machines... which are little more than re engineered non-replicating viruses, should allow us to transform the immune system to correspond to new genetic programming prior to the more advanced stages of the systemic overhaul. We've already been farming his T-Cells in our laboratories in anticipation of this event and think we have a sufficient quantity to help him through the process." He noted as he stood next to the Chairman, hands folded behind his back, watching him pour through the data provided. "We've also been farming his stem cells."

"We'll definitely send his top two doctors, can his wife come also? She loathes to be separated from him, especially in such a process as this. She offered to make you cookies if you permitted." He chuckled faintly.

"Also, if you check page 2 of my formulations there, there is a catalyst library I have been collecting of drugs and enzymes known to activate cellular reaction to new nucleic information. We calculate he's going to need an immense influx of nutrients, carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins for the development process."

Generosa nodded, once again. "It will take time, as we will have to adapt our genetic research, but the standard medical treatments, suspension in the solution et cetera can easily be done here in the hospital."

The Chairman smiles. "As is the motto of Saborian scientists: Nothing is Impossible. The T-cells and stem cells will be very useful and speed the process up, as we won't have to farm them ourselves. Regarding his wife, she will, unfortunately, not be allowed to directly visit him, go into the same room as him, I mean. Standard protocols, as long as he's in his current state."

After this, he went to check the formulations and library, murmuring a few things to himself or uttering a "Hmhm." occasionally. Once finished, he nods in approval. "We can work with that. And yes, going from what I'm estimating right now, we'll need a metric ton of what you mentioned there, maybe literally."

The Doctor picked up the phone and made the call. "Go ahead and get the Chairman here. Yes.. yes.. I'll let him know. Eight to ten hours before arrival? Alright. I'll get them the time table."

He looked over his shoulder to Leclerc, "They're asking for the inbound flight code, like the one granted previously."

Leclerc nodded. "Tell them I'll arrange that. They'll have the code within the hour, though I'll need to make a phone call for that."

"Understood." He got back to the line, "They'll get back to you on it." He then hung up, turning back to Leclerc, "They said 8 to ten hours plus the time to get the codes."

"Also, Chairman, they wanted to tell me you may request any resources you need for the project and they'll be glad to deliver.. if you wish any payment for it, they'll be glad to come up with some funding. Maelstrom has also been deeply moved by your offer of help and has told me that, if you would want one with the Empire, a Friendship treaty with us would be most agreeable, but he leaves that for your discretion. You merely need let our foreign offices know. We understand you tend to be a very private people, so we won't intrude unless you would want what we propose. But, honestly, if you truly help him you will have made a life-long friend."

"No need for resources or payments or whatever. We've likely got all that is needed, and I'm doing this for the sake of science, not to get a personal profit or whatever. Now.."

Leclerc walked to the phone, dialled a number. After a few seconds, presumably after the person on the other line had introduced himself, Fjodor said, "Leclerc here. Send a confirmation code for a plane to Dragonisia." After a short answer, "Bye." and he hung up. "Well, that's done. What would you like to do now, Doctor?"

"How about we go tour the facilities until he gets here, aye? I can't wait to start seeing everything your nation has accomplished. It's been my dream to come study here for a very long time. You and I seem to be of like passions." He smiled faintly.

Leclerc chuckled. "Well, that depends on what facilities you want to see. If you mean the medical ones, then Doctor Generosa would surely give you a tour."

In response, Generosa nodded, signing that he would indeed do that if asked.
