Generalissimo
Out of Character bickering about technology in CNRP has become unbearable. Generalissimo has a decisive yet underdeveloped solution. . . Let’s give everyone the same level of technology! Why shouldn’t everyone play CNRP with the same advanced technologies! Generalissimo proposes 2032 technology for *EVERYONE* That doesn’t necessarily determine that 2032 is the only tech year we have to equalize at. . . Other options could be added to future polls. This is a formal proposal for CNRP rules modification! Triyun
$%&@ off !@#$@#$ commie. Go back to Soviet Russia where you belong!
Zarfef
I fully endorse this idea. Technology makes for stat-based role-play and stat-based role-play is often times badly done role play.
Generalissimo
Technology is for everyone. . . FOR SCIENCE!
Evangeline Anovilis
For once I'm with Triyun on this. This is CNRP. Throwing a stat like tech out the window... What next? A million soldiers for everyone?
Generalissimo
We’ve already removed the connection from CyberNations with so many other things. . . Generalissimo still advocates one-to-one ratios from CyberNations for *EVERYTHING* in CNRP. If the community decides to slide from that ideal – why not make it fair for everyone? Zarfef
For once I'm with Triyun on this. This is CNRP. Throwing a stat like tech out the window... What next? A million soldiers for everyone?
Role play is not a competitive sport. This isn't a giant game of risk - this is CNRP. Role Play. That means you enjoy the game because you play a role, not because you can dominate another person by beating them up. That's about as low as when bullies get a high off of beating up some smaller kid simply because they're smaller and then the adults go in and say, "hey, that's just like in real life when they get older - they just have to get used to being beat up now while they're young.' If stats weren't used to bully other players around and simply used to create an interesting atmosphere, then hey, that might be cool if both sides had pros and cons. However, the equation only goes one way, the one side has pros and pros and the other side has cons and cons. Who the heck wants to play a game where they're constantly being beaten up and begging for their existence - even if they were just looking for the role play. It's an annoying power trip that was old when I was a much younger nation and it's still annoying today.
Kankou
Zarfef, you obviously have been away from CNRP too long.
Isaac MatthewII
I voted yes, because why not? Also Zarfef, you are compleately wrong. It is a game of Risk. Well a game of risk where Triyun has loaded dice and more plastic figures. Edited March 28, 2012 by Isaac MatthewII

Not everyone is here for just some peaceful role and either one submits, one leaves or one fights. I agree with Kankou.

I think we should all be in 2012 but tech wise no we should not have all this nonsense.
Executive Minister
If i had to spend two years with the fear that the trollbrigade could come at any moment and fire cms at me while I built my tech up to stronger levels, then any !@#$@#$ newbie that joins needs to do the same. MostGloriousLeader
I don't really mind the current tech scale all too much but I've always felt that at the very least everyone should have access to what actually exists now regardless of tech and then keep some other techscale for more future tech (not too far future though). I remember when I first started out in CNRP there was Lavo and LeVent or whatever and they came out with some ridiculous stuff. Plus I'm pretty sure Martens had his AT-ATs and that guy who was in Finland had a tank that was the size of a damn apartment building or something. Fun times. Subtleknifewielder
Anyway, i don't think equalization is what's needed, but I think we need to compress the scale a little--basically add a few years to the lowest tier and subtract a few from the highest. Kaiser Martens
using 2023 is ridiculous, we've no idea what that tech would be like, beyond the realm of speculation that is. Current year at most. Voted null.
Kankou
It depends, Martens. While most of DARPA stuff are flimsy ideas which might be delayed by a decade, there are other technology which had already been completely proven and just needs to be adjusted for militarization.
