Kankou
Basically, a revised suggestion. Tier 1: Tanks, MRL (x IG tank) Tier 2: IFV, APC, SPA, SAAMS (small AA missile systems) (x 2 IG tank) Tier 3: Non-SP Artillery (x IG tank) Upper tier stats can be used for lower tiers, but not the other way around. Guns are restricted by common sense. Hovercraft (bold) is possible restriction. Any suggestions/comments? How do minesweepers and torpedo boats translate into tanks?
I think you mean "How do tanks translate into minesweepers and torpedo boats." I've been looking at the various functions and types of tanks, and realized that patrol boats and minesweepers are pretty much the tank and cleanup in the sea. To stop people from making massive fleets, tanks can be a suitable substitute, unless we start making new multipliers for the navy.
I agree. With me being a smaller nation that does not have a navy, I think it is a little unfair to have me count my patrol boats - the only thing I have in my waters - against my already small number of ships. Captain Enema
Depends upon how many window lickers you have factored into your equation. Window lickers are the first line of assault in many militaries. They send them well in advance to discover mines and place their McDonald's caps upon them. They also do adorable things like color on tanks and APCs with crayons and then they eat the crayons. So until you factor in the window lickers multiplier I'm going to have to say no to this formula. Captain Enema
Remember dear Executive Minister, they must not be terribly bright children either. The dimmer the better in fact as they must have that essential qualification of being able to loudly proclaim, "Mommy says I'm special" as they charge tanks wearing their McDonald's uniforms and handsomely tailored suicide charge vest. Aggressivenutmeg
Also why would hovercrafts need to be counted? they are pretty useless, the most you would have would be a few for special forces incertions etc.

While they are easy to attack, if you have air superiority you can pound the enemy while shuttling tens of thousands of troops. Not exactly a good thing in my opinion. king of cochin
No need for more rules and more calculations. As long as there is no fault of present system or any controversial abuse that cant be solved without due legislation, no amendment for the current rule. We have enough multipliers and it stays.
Can I ask what the current system actually is? From what I know, there isn't any completely concrete rule in the first place, except the ad hoc rulings that causes only arguments to erupt once in a while (if you remember the very long post by EM about why we should have two times the armored carriers)
Markus Wilding
Tanks are max IG. APCs/SPA/IFVs fall under common sense. There's no need to fix what isn't broken. Do you happen to be an engineer, Kankou?

Other than the fact that such a number was based on an ad hoc decision, it's unrealistic. ZBut more importantly, that's not even being strictly embedded as a rule. Seems like we found some problems here. Can the GMs at least make a concrete rule, or is it going to be common sense?
Captain Enema
Common Sense, but then we all know there will be someone along shortly who will introduce the first ever APC Spam attack, which all consider if they are properly equipped with anti-tank missiles it might actually be semi-effective. APC SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMM!
