Ram in top form . My personal opinion is that the semantics are rather insignificant because the fewest players pretend to "simulate real world politics". If two parties agree to stop the fight, be it with terms or without, with a signed agreement or without, then everyone just goes home and for both sides the war is over. For some elawyers maybe not, but since both sides simply ignore them, it doesn't matter at all.

Law is made by men, so its imperfect by definition. It cannot reflect all circumstances. Sometimes it cannot be adapted or amended as quickly as the world changes. And then you either let your friends die or you help and break whatever laws are saying "you can't do it!". I can. And I will be damned if I don't. Now what is the consequence? Either you sit in your small chamber, mourning that they are all traitors and their word mean nothing, or you open the door and take a look at the reasoning for their actions. Some you might find to be treacherous, some you might find to be careless, some you might find to be doing the right thing. Just judging a decision over the fact if it is "legal" is shortsighted. The bigger picture is what matters. And you can be sure the fewest people violate what they have signed. Most of them had to make a hard decision between "two wrongs".

To be honest, we needed to laugh pretty hard while doing all that and even our wifes (who hate CN desperately) needed to smile about 3 men having their fun with some childish funstuff. These days are one of the hardest I have ever witnessed. Many have friends and long term allies on both sides. But the decision how our world should look like when the dust settles and the warriors rest is too important sit back and watch. You have to pick a side, even if it cuts deep. That being said, most of my closest friends in this game fight on Karma's side, and I will be damned if I let them down, no matter what that cost me. Is that easy? No. Many of others I share a very close bond to are disappointed and this move will leave scars. Things have been said and rules have been broken. Things have happened nobody wanted to happen. But sometimes the world turns faster than we can adapt and suddenly we are trapped between two wrong decisions. "The other side" (in my case: IRON) is not my "enemy" in this war. They have chosen the other side, so they are 'opponents' as long as they are on that side. I feel no hate for them. I do not want to kill them, even hurt them. But since they have entered against my friends, I will do it anyway, even if that saddens me, even if that makes me bleed. The moment they stop shooting at my friends will be the moment I will lay down my weapons and try to heal what has been wounded. Godspeed. For all of us.

The question alone is not making any sense. A CN "without NPO" is not even under consideration.

Anyone screaming for IRON's blood will be severly disappointed. Didn't we say that we recognize them as opponent because they were forced into this conflict by obligations and their allies moves? I think we did. Write it on a big sheet and pin it on your desk. IRON will be treated like someone who just fulfills his duty. And should anyone try to make stupid demands versus IRON, he will make Grämlins very very angry. Very angry. o/ IRON. o/ Grämlins.

if both sides agree the pact can be amended any time. the 1-year-clause is for unilateral cancellation, not for mutual agreement.

Only fighting parties (and a mediator maybe) should talk during the negotiation of peace terms. if there were others, who are not involved in the current conflict, maybe some people just wanted to inflate their egos without having anything to say. as usual, the people who talk the most are also the most insignificant ones. Don't give much on their words. I don't even know who was there and who demanded what. When it comes to the pseudo edit (^^), that is up to MHA alone and I can imagine they will at least have a discussion about that violation with the NPO Government after this conflict. A decision will depend on the level of mutual trust that is left. But I am sure MHA is able to handle that professionally, like they always have in the past. They are Härmlins too, for a good reason.

some people should stop acting like they would decide how this conflict ends. it might seriously piss off the people who truly decide about the future. And a hint: thats not wise. Forget NPO Viceroys. Forget disbanding NPO. Forget ZI'ing NPO. Or whatever wet dreams some people might have. Nothing of that will happen.

Maybe some people forget that, at least as far as I am informed, MHA was neither consulted nor informed about the war started by the NPO. Which means the New Pacific Order has violated their treaty with the MHA. This alone - putting a partner-alliance at risk for the own arrogance of not even consulting them before going to war - would be enough to rendering the whole MHA-NPO treaty null and void.

I'd say that they just try to flee from Karma (not the 'bloc'), what will be impossible. They have loaded so much hate and guilt on themselves by supporting "their side" for so long and laughing with "try to do something about it!!!" statements over the years, not one of them will escape the giant rolling stone that was set in motion. Not one.
