There's way too much of an attitude around here along the lines of, "You're on the other side, therefore nothing you say is valid. I shall continue to defend something my ally said, regardless of how stupid or thoughtless." I'd say about 80% of the stupidity around here is a direct result of people trying to defend someone without even understanding their actions. Ie, "How dare you criticize my alliance! I'll have you know that we never make mistakes, and here's some anecdotal evidence I just made up to prove that a policy I don't understand makes perfect sense!"

I have to say it's a bit unnerving seeing Rebel Virginia agree with us. They say a broken clock is right twice a day, but that's not really the case with good old RV. When you have a clock that functions perfectly but is always 6 hours off, it's never right. But it's still reliable if you just look at the opposite side of the hand. When it says 3, it really means 9. Then one day you look at it and the clock is synced perfectly with your own. Is it fixed, or is yours suddenly broken? I don't know, man. But I'm scared. Standard formula for an Alliance Announcements thread: 1. OP 2. Friends of the OP all say "o/" and state their approval of the announcement. 3. A few opponents give mild reasoned objections to the announcement. 4. Some intelligent discussion takes place. 5. Somewhere around page 8, the discussion suddenly turns completely stupid. 6. 40 pages of people sticking a hundred fists into their mouths at once with at least two posts per page of unimaginable stupidity.

My criticism: I think the fact that my little comic about "GOONs" was put next to another joke about our witless opponents using "GOONs" is a bit much. If anything, it's probably going to fuel about a hundred more usages of "GOONs", since everyone is convinced this is the ultimate way to bother us.

While I appreciate the sentiment, all I can feel is disappointed that we won't get to beat Legion ourselves. This is going to be so much less fun.

Hey, I'm just about out of nukes so if someone wants to declare on me now, I can still get that sweet 6-opponents-at-once status symbol and there's little to no risk on your part.
