1. I remember that you helped me with my Wiki work. It was voluntary, necessary, and graciously provided. I have not known you in the game. I would love to see you re-roll, but I do understand your decision. Good luck on your journey. And, again. Thank you so much for helping me learn how to do it right.
2. .@StuPolitics @RollCall There is a difference in this race: Ilya spoke up for campaign finance reform. Brad was silent http://t.co/vLSQTEBh

7. This is very good. Congratulations, and much good luck. I'll be checking it out!
8. Welcome to, however briefly, the game! You've got some great advice here. I hope you use it judiciously, which is to say immediately.
9. Morality dies when no one any longer values it. (Now THAT's profound, dammit!) The trouble with Schatt? He's usually, uncomfortably, correct. Good job, Schatt. That GOONs has such foggy ambiguity in their Constitution is, and should remain, their problem. To believe they rule the Planet is also a problem only for them. However, to proclaim such a nefarious reality for their members, with the expectation that other alliances will agree with, much less support it is a bit high on the arrogance chart. It is not merely a disparate policy. It is an exclusively singular policy. It is an unaccepted policy, refuted in it's entirety by most (if not all) other alliances in the cyberverse. Howling about it is not going to change the GOONs Constitution. The best, and most effective response to this policy is to insure it never infects any other alliance in the game. It will never be a majority view, or even a minority view, for that matter. It is an extremely fringe view. It is an incendiary view. That is the reason for it. Nothing more. The message does not say, as Sardonic might wish it, "Stay away from our raids." The message is "We will destroy whom we wish. This means you." Funny thing about bullies. They inevitably meet up with one moral person (or alliance) who does eventually step up, and "retrain" their thinking. These other alliances also (usually) are the alliances with enough treaty support to overcome what is, in actuality, such a fringe minority. That's my observation, at least, from having played the game just a little while. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. It's a morality thing. I would also hasten to add that Sardonic's character in this game has an amazing ability to be very moral. I know this personally, because he has been so towards me, my nation, and my alliances. Give them their due. GOONs plays the bad guy game pretty well. They do it on purpose. They admit they do it because that is the way they choose to play the game. Their leadership states it. Their members reinforce and support it. That's a moral choice. I find that interesting. Knowing what the moral choice is, the alliance chooses against that choice. See my first statement.
10.
Oh, it has been. I believe Karma spawned a few. Ah, here we go, know there was one to top 200 pages: http://forums.cybern...showtopic=60464 Bear in mind that all of this was done within three days.
Oaky, just WOW! I forgot about that one! All these years later, and we're still talking the very same way, to the same mindsets, and many of the same people. Just...WOW! Thanks for the reference. 228. That's a number to shoot for, but i don't think I could survive the effort.
11. Come on, folks! I'm REALLY rooting for a 100 page thread, here. I know it can be done. I don/t know if it ever has been, but I don't remember one. How about it? Step it up, here. I think there's only one war left to re-hash! /snark
12. I was a long-standing member of TOOL just prior to their last war. On the day gov announced targets, several nations who felt they could not sustain war at that time asked MilCom if they could hippie to prepare. Those we felt could benefit were given permission. AT THE SAME TIME, those same nations were top-listed for war aid/rebuild. We didn't tell those nations that; we counted on their knowing that we always, from our glorious beginnings, did this simply as a matter of course--as a matter of honor. Those who we felt could not benefit from being in PM, we told. We also told them we would get their aid to them first. Why? Because, no matter your NS, your nation is your CN life, your blood. Several nations simply left. Some (most, iirc) requested demasking, posted their GBCW, and left the AA. Those were dismissed members from the AA prior to the commencement of battle. These were all, in one form or another, nations as yours was as you began your Alliance life in GLoF. Some were too new to the game, or too new to the game AND the Alliance to sustain even the most minimal attack, with virtually no chance of building up defensive forces if (when) attacked. That's one thing. There were, I believe, 23 nations total who just...left the AA. No "Help!", no pleas, no nuthin'. After the assignments, and before (or on the first day of) war commenced, these members left the Alliance, the community, the friends, and all that TOOL stood for. They were listed as traitors, blacklisted from the AA, and sought out and destroyed. Why? In our AA, there were some things one just simply did not do. For any reason. An entire alliance dismissed entirely, without even the first opportunity to prove faithfulness to even the least of our community. What they felt was a reasonable decision was a slap in every member's face, an outright assault on our principles, and a black stain our rather well thought-of history on CN. Suddenly, it was the "name" of the AA that had been damaged, without justifiable cause. These rulers either did not understand, or otherwise they did not accept what every member of our community spent four years building one war battling pixel after another, time after time. It was the Alliance that was damaged, you see. It completely need not have been. But, the decision by a ruler to simply abandon the AA? That's just not going to go unnoticed. I know that, if I were to call ANY member of The Order of Light in this moment, needing protection, help, or anything else, I would get nations running to my aid from all over CN. Yes, I earned it. But, so did they earn the opportunity to respond. If they were to do it, I would go running to their aid as well. Call it espirit de corps if you want to. It lives on, even to this moment. Not as the TOOL AA (that's gone now), but what TOOL has always stood for in CN. Much more than pixels on a war screen, our AA is a brotherhood, a fellowship from which NO member can voluntarily remove themself. It sounds to me like you found one, too. It sounds like you had a lapse of faith in a community you did not yet know, nor understand. You presumed facts not in evidence, and made what was for you, and for the AA, a very unworthy mistake. Given your CN "age" and history, that comes as a bit of a surprise to me, because the walk doesn't justify the talk. Regardless, I must tell you that there is another important factor in play here. Honor. GLoF, from all I have seen, read, and from members I have talked to, is a "STRAC" alliance. They stand tall for their community, and for those whom they call friends. When your enemies speak well of you, listen. Honor is not demanded for it's rightful place, anywhere. Honor is commanded by the walk of the talk. You either do, or you don't. They were the offended party. It is your DUTY TO HONOR to do the right thing, to attempt to correct the dishonor you have brought upon what is, from all appearances, a very honorable alliance that any player in this game would gladly find as a home. This is not their duty to fix anything, however. It is yours, friend. Because of the intensity of your argument, it seems to me that such things as honor matter to you.[OOC] Given your current military situation, it had damned well better. (Take that from a retired O-6, USA). In the RL, buddies, squads, platoons, companies--and nations depend on it. Your Honor.[/OOC] Here, it is what we do, as players, when nobody's looking, when the lights are off. Go to the GLoF government, sincerely apologize, receive without comment the punishment you are rightfully assigned, and then do your very best to rejoin that alliance and EARN the respect you seek. Theirs will matter. To you. And, to be quite honest, to us, too. I wish you well on your journey!
13. I feel sorty derty watching relationships start. Good on ya, Razor. o/KasKus
14. Welcome back to the sphere of your birth. Good journeys.
15. Well, from the looks of things, one and/or the other conglomerations just proceeded to draft mutually exclusive trade treaties. Or am I missing something here? Are we now creating (again?) Trade and Econ Treaties?

18. Handsomely crafted, and very well played. My sincere congratulations on this achievement, CoJ.
19. As many of our game's very best players, who have already posted their congratulations here would quickly tell you, it takes an impossible amount of work to create, grow, and maintain a stable Alliance. But, to create, grow and produce a successful child OF that Alliance? Well, that's just one of the rarest, and best indications of success any Alliance can have in this game. As you both begin your new Kingdoms, know that while most would never say so directly, you have both achieved an incredible milestone in the game. Huzzah!
