1. Good luck to both combatants. Hope you all have fun, as this looks to be an interesting front of the war.
2. Fresh was that guy who came to define MCXA for a lot of old school players. Sorry to see him go.
3.
Just FYI, The initiative broke up in September, 2007. Karma was fought in April 2009
Q. I stand corrected. It was that long ago I don't even recall the right bloc.
4. Nobody said you need to trust TOP Xiph, we don't have your alliances best interests at heart. Really though, why would TOP be expected to care for GOD's interests. GOD is such a small, insignificant alliance compared to even the rest of SF, I find it ironic you think you can dictate foreign policy to anybody. What should GOON be expected to do just to keep a treaty with you? Whatever they do I'm sure it wouldn't be worth the treaty. You really think you can keep the Karma coalition together by keeping TOP out while at the same time bringing Polar in? Good luck. Why would TOP care for your opinion on our foreign policy? Thanks for the advice on how we can branch out into our own side "safely and without any lingering threat", but frankly we don't trust you either. I care so little for keeping your 'side' together it's not funny. Look how unified you all are right now. The only reason Karma won is because half the Continuum switched sides, no other reason. Karma would have been crushed if not for the 6 Continuum alliances that backed it. Yet look how little respect TOP get's now for helping win the Karma war.
5. Clearly, TOPs biggest mistake during the Karma war was not siding with the Initiative.
6. Great work on the stats Pacifica. I would love to see TOPs stats included though.
7. So VE doesn't keep up to date on masking. A former member stops by and reads something. Now that individual is supposed to take a beating after leaving his new alliance so VE won't roll them? I just don't see the CB.
8.
It could help to increase motivation to recognize and avoid unbeneficial behavioral patterns.
I agree. TOP's policy of not asking for reps is outdated and unbeneficial considering the massive reps extorted from us. In the future I'll be sure to push for offensively high tech reps from whoever ends up on the wrong side of our nukes. White peace is for the birds when you have an axe to grind.
9. I remember when NoR joined the Initiative in the middle of GW2. Fun times. How many members from the WUT days are still around?
10. It will always exist in my heart. Have fun adding PB to the web.
11.
That's a very good short form. Hopefully everyone reads it and remembers it. If PB, SF and C&G were in fact one megabloc, then we would be in a hegemonic position. But we're not, as was pointed out earlier we don't have any shared members (like Continuum/One Vision) or major interconnected treaties. (Pretty much everyone was treatied to the Continuum; not that many people are directly treatied to PB.) If you persist in believing in the old world dichotomy of 'NPO vs LUE' then sure, the 'LUE' side – everything that isn't a close friend of NPO – is huge, overbearing and hegemonic. But things aren't like that any more.
Just to add to the points others have already made against your position, even you draw the distinction you now discredit with that line down the middle of your very own treaty web.
12. Its still a weak move to have all these alliances attacking Ninjas. MK isn't grandfathered into war, they canceled the treaty. Now they are just attacking Ninjas with no casus belli.
13. FAN in effect. I await 10-10-10 with suspense.
14. Mk had way too many treaties and essentially became what they fought against in Karma. I can see this as a positive move in the direction of a freer and less centralized web power structure. I'm not sure where MK will end up, but it might give some of MKs ex-allies the chance to branch out and not be sycophantic followers.
15. Interesting bit of RoK and CN history folks. Always good to have a storied past. Happy Birthday.
16. All the alliances that signed WUT went on to further prominence. I know most ex-WUT alliances would not treaty each other today, and some harbor bad feelings against other ex-members. The fact remains that TI was always a big tent block. The nature of the block and it's manner of operations was one that required meatshields. It would be fun to get all these alliances back together again. Like a reunion tour of $@! kicking. We could even agree ahead of time to have another civil war after we take over the world again.
17. I just happen to realize the bad blood and history for what it is, drama that helped drive the game. The trick to being able to address the past in a productive manner and moving forward is realization of common goals and purpose. In this case a more balanced game and TI resurrection. So, instead of crying about your alliance getting rolled 3 years ago and holding a grudge about it, you learn to move past that for the sake of seeing the greatest block ever rise from the ashes. Enough great alliances joined WUT in '07 that even if half of them signed again it would be a solid block.
18. Resurrect the Initiative. If enough of the original alliances and successors like Umbrella want to bring WUT back, it would liven up this game like nothing else I could think of. The mix of alliances it had and the competition it encouraged between blocks is what makes this game fun for many folks. The Initiative brought that in droves.
19. To me this chart hits me off as a relative rate of how much NS and support your alliance can get/give to it's treaty partners.
20. That web above was from around Dec 06, pre GW2. The expanded Initiative with Bleu and UJP was about 6 or 7 months later.
21. The Initiative was the greatest block this game has ever seen because of the line-up of quality alliances in it. No block has even come close to having that many great alliances in it. I served in TOP gov't, and back then we made our bones as an elite alliance known for taking on much larger and well known alliances. The wars we fought together, coming up as underdogs and dominating as hard as we did. '07 still stands out as the best year CN had because of WUT.
22. Why is it that we can only buy infra and tech in increments of 10? This is a holdover from a long past era of small nations, and hopefully changing this aspect of the game will be given a look. Buying up infra is a tedious task at best.
