1.
I think you understate how interesting and unexpected this was.
This was rather interesting and quite unexpected.
2. A message was sent to Mexico:
To The Government of Mexico This is a formal invitation to the government of Mexico to attend a meeting held in the Royal Palace for Foreign Affairs in Riyadh, where we intend to discuss the possibility of an agreement between our nations. Hafiz al-Raham High Council of Foreign Affairs
3. hail sahra. onward, NDO
4. Hafiz gave his signature to the document as official, and stated he would bring a copy back to Baghdad for the King to sign as a formality. The alliance was forged.
5. Hafiz had known this was coming, although he was a little surprised that the Vice Imperator was so quick about it. Perhaps he's up to something. Probably is. I think I can guess what, too. Ah well, not much that we can do about it. The King authorized me to sign this treaty, and ordered me to sign it if it were to come up. I have no choice, as if I wanted to make a different decision. "Your majesty, Tianxia has done so much for not only the government of Naharayim, but also for its people while the region tried to recover from the loss of the empire that ruled here for so long. We are ever greatful to Tianxia for this, and we remember the fairness and kindness with which we were treated as subjects of the Empire. It is without hesitation that I answer your proposal in the affirmative. Naharayim will sign this treaty with you, and pledge our government, our people, and our nation to your defense as you do, and have done, to ours." He paused for a moment, and said, "I assume you have something written up already? I am authorized to sign with the King's signature."
6.
Everyone brags about how many wars/alliances they've fought but how many people really had an impact? So many people on the winning side, but how many stick through their alliance when they're losing? It's so damn easy to just hop sides whenever your alliance is weak, but I'd say it's more of an achievement to actually stick all the way through a war that your alliance loses.
No one really has an impact. Alliance wars are won by total strength, regardless of how well individuals fight, unless it's a close war, but then again we haven't seen one of those in a very long time have we?
7. Hafiz Imad ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Ahmad had been to plenty of palaces, capitals, and cities before and had seen far grander sights than the one laid out before him. He had visited the Taj Mahal, the White House, Buckingham Palace, the Kremlin, and Beijing, but still the sight of an imposing structure such as the one that stood mightily before him never ceased to excite him. He marveled at the statues that welcomed him into the audience chamber, studying them with a grin and marveling at the wondrous representation of these apparently important figures. He didn't know who they were, but nor did he particularly care to; the wonder was far more exciting than the knowledge, a fact he had learned long ago. When the Vice Imperator welcomed him to the Empire, he stood nearly a foot taller than Hafiz, truly a menacing sight to anyone who would come near him. It was not exactly a common thing in Naharayim, or anywhere in the world, really, to see people quite this large. In Naharayim, in fact, he was considered pretty menacingly large himself, at 1.88 meters, but he paled in comparison to this beast of a human being. He must be well over two meters, Hafiz thought. "It is a pleasure to be invited here to Tashkent and to the Empire. The architecture here is simply remarkable, as well. It looks as if in the days since the Plague, the city has recovered quite well, along with the Empire, would you say so?"
8. Upon receiving the message from Tianxia, the High Councilor of Foreign Affairs was a little skeptical of the Executor's intentions, but could by no rational means reject the chance for a meeting. After all, this was Tianxia, the most powerful and largest nation in the world, whose borders stretched to the edges of the King's Realm, and who had governed with great authority and also respectfulness this territory that the King now called his home. Indeed this was a great opportunity, he knew, but he also knew that this would probably mean war would come to Naharayim sometime soon. Still, he could not refuse. The request was passed to the King, who then approved travel for the High Councilor of War to travel to Tashkent to represent the Republic in this meeting, and authorized him to 'do all that was necessary for the security of the Realm'. A response was sent to Tianxia:
Reply: We accept. Regards, The High Council of Naharayim
9.
I'm sorry, but who are you again? In any case, this guy's right, sorry Kaisermartens.
Clever, claim my irrelevance so as to make my point seem less important, but you're only proving the point that I made. Tidy Bowl Man, I was singling him out because he is the one acting like this in this thread. Most of us have acted like a rascal at one time or another, but he was quite clearly the most prominent in this thread. Furthermore, I don't see why I can't address him without addressing everyone at the same time. I find it is far more effective to individualize complaints.
10. I foresee problems with the new continent.
11. Please mark what was formerly Xendria as part of Naharayim. Map included:
12. High Councilor of Foreign Affairs Announces Naharayim Claim to Xendria In a statement released by the Council of Foreign Affairs today, Naharayim has officially placed a claim to the territory to its immediate north, known commonly as 'Xendria'. This claim comes along with the statement that the former government of Xendria has abandoned its people and effectively dismantled itself. The government of Xendria, Councilor al-Adin claimed, contacted the King's office and requested its assistance with regards to the governance of its people and its territories. "The Government of Xendria has effectively collapsed," al-Adin said in a press conference earlier today, "and Naharayim will be taking control of its territory so as to assist the people of the nation to find a better lot in life, and to prevent anarchy and chaos in the region which is so close to home for us." The region will not be immediately absorbed into Naharayim, the Council said, but instead it will be placed in the status of an autonomous territory of Naharayim. A territorial government will be established in order to regain control of the region. The government will be subservient to the main government of Naharayim. The King's office has not announced future plans for the region of Xendria as of yet. This announcement has been heavily scrutinized by opponents of the idea, who state that the problems with local gang-related violence in Jiddah and Riyadh should be what the state is focusing on, instead of expanding what one analyst called "ineffective rule" over more territory. Neither the King's Office nor the Council of Foreign Affairs have responded to the criticisms as of yet.
13.
Even if it was noncanon . . . it was a military project done by Nod, Nod a nation I don't canonically RP anymore. Noncanon RPs are beyond the scope of any GM ruling, past, present or future. Remembering the stupidity used in order to suppress this program has ignited a new desire in me. Be prepared to see them return, this time fully canonical in the near future.
I'm sorry, but why are you being such a jackass? There's really no need at all for all the swearing and anger and hate and stuff. Let's have a calm, rational discussion about the rules. If you disagree with the proposal that's fine, but there's no need to get so worked up about it.
14. I am hella down for a new planet. That would be pretty awesome, I think, but like I said in the other thread, it's going to take a ton of work to get right.
15.
As for number 1, why don't we just get rid of the world map and use a fake world. That would make for some good RP. Instead of using the history and biases of our world, we create our own history. If this suggestion happens, I may rejoin CNRP.
If you want to revitalize CNRP, this is probably the best way to do it, in my opinion. But it presents all kinds of new challenges and problems, because a map of the world has to account for geographical features (hills, mountains, rivers, oceans, lakes, forests, rainforests, everything), as well as resources (oil, trees, coal, gold, silver, arsenic, uranium, food, fresh water, millions more), and it all has to be developed down to a very small level. You have to map out everything that exists in the world and could possibly influence decisions made at a state level, which is a lot of things. It will require a massive amount of time, energy, research, and planning, not to mention the large amount of time it will undoubtedly take for this community to actually accept a map. From there, you get the questions of history. What is the history? Do we have a continuous history? Does history start in the modern era? What happens when a nation falls, do we keep its history? Making a new world is no small task. I would definitely be all for playing in a made up world, but there will be all kinds of problems creating the world. I agree with the idea of a refinement of the tech scale, although I disagree with Kankou's proposal and lean more towards Triyun's in the other thread with the uppermost level a bit lower (someone proposed 7.5k tech, I rather like that number). The main reason being that no one in the world uses world war I technology, or even world war II technology. I mean, we have stateless terrorists using pretty advanced stuff. I think the tech scale should probably run 1960 to the modern day, or something of the sort.
16. I would totally do it except I really don't want to.
17. First Public Statement of the Grand Republic of Naharayim This is an official statement for the regard of the cartographers, politicians, statesmen, and interested civilians that the nation-state of Naharayim officially places its feet upon the world on this day. Today we shall not become sentimental, but instead return quickly to affairs of state and governance of this new Republic for the ages. This comes at the request of the peoples of these territories of Naharayim, following a plebiscite held in the territories at the request of the Congress of Arabia, an organization existent to promote Arabic independence and development of nations in the Tianxia Protectorate of the Middle East. The Congress shall act as the first official governing body of the Republic. The Republic exists in the format of a Parliamentary Democracy with a single permanent Head of State chosen for merit by the Parliament, approved by the Populace, and from a list of acceptable appointees given from the previous Sovereign. The Cabinet of the King, as his Royal advisors shall be called, shall consist of several basic departments, as designed by His Eminence, the King of Naharayim. It shall exist of the following: The Council of Internal Affairs - led by the High Councilor of Internal Affairs The Council of the Economy - led by the High Economic Councilor (or High Councilor of Economic Affairs) The Council of War - led by the High Councilor of War The Council of Foreign Affairs - led by the High Councilor of Foreign Affairs The Council of Public Health and Safety - led by the High Council of Public Affairs All Departments shall be subservient to these Councils, and shall be created by the King upon recommendation from the Council. The King of Naharayim is Harun ibn Tariq ibn Khalid al-Fulan, First King of Naharayim, Sovereign of Mesopotamia, High Councilor of the Court of the Crimson King. This concludes this announcement.
18. I would like to request that, upon posting of the proper documentation in accordance with CNRP policy regarding claims, that the following area be marked officially as "Naharayim". Thank you. also hello
19.
#7 is hereby stricken, CNRP is a much better place without Mergerberger and his anti-character rp fascism.
now there's even more incentive to return.
20. I have no idea what alliances I've fought, but I think I remember most of the wars. GDA - St. Paddy's Day Massacre (best time ever) - GWIII - Persian War - Unjust War - BLEU-NADC War - BLEU-GUN War - BLEU-FIST War Polaris - Karma - \m/ conflict - TOP-C&G War - VE-NpO War - Grudge War good times (mostly); although I was also in Genesis but didn't fight in any wars there.
21. Is that three days above GONs now? edit: no, no it is not.
22. #7 almost makes me want to come back to cnrp.
23.
Probably something like this:
Hell yeah we're bacon. I made something similar awhile back. Before NPO signed with TLR. In retrospect, XX should have had a stronger tie to PB and DH. But it was basically how I thought of the treaty web.
