  1. Why cant Case Keenum even get mentioned? You would think a Texas quarterback throwing up numbers like his would get some attention. WRONG! For some reason, ESPN won't even put Keenum of their watch list of QBs in Heisman contention, let alone even put him in the running. In 2008, Case Keenum led the nation in total offense and finished second in passing yards only to Texas Tech's Graham Harrell. In 2009, Keenum scored 48 total touchdowns and had 5800 total yards with a 154.79 passer rating.
  2. send PM to Gooberland and I will send the aid. include in pm if your looking for long term deal http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=139343
  3. yeah goldie, the patriots always seem to pick up great guys late in the draft. If a player is drafted by the patriots, they know they did something right.
  4. Jimmy Clausen After being projected to go as high as #4 to the Washington Redskins, Jimmy Clausen falls all the way to the second round to the Carolina Panther at 48. Taylor Mays After falling to the second round to the 49ers, Taylor Mays had some harsh words to say to his former coach at USC, Pete Carroll. Mays was a projected Top 15 draft pick in last years draft. Carroll begged him to stay, insisting he would teach Mays how to become a more complete NFL safety. Instead, Carroll changed his defensive scheme to one that would cause Taylor Mays to be more of a deep coverage safety, instead of showcasing May's talent at playing near the line and making big hits. Sam Bradford As expected, Sam Bradford was picked #1 overall by the St. Louis Rams. Now that they've got him, they are going to have to pay him some ridiculous money, probably alot more than what was given to last years #1, Matthew Stafford. Tim Tebow In a strange twist, Tim Tebow was picked #25 to the Denver Broncos, before Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, Dan Lefevour, or Tony Pike, all quarterbacks rated as better pro prospects than him. Is it really good for the Broncos to spend a first rounder on a guy who isn't going to be NFL ready for 2-4 years?
  5. Lebron will get his time in the next round. I mean, no one expects the bulls to have any shot at keeping games close against the cavs.
  6. With the NBA playoffs starting Saturday, I would like to preview some first round NBA matchups I find intriguing. East 4 Boston Celtics VS 5 Miami Heat The old/veteran Boston Celtics limp into the playoffs against Dwyane Wade...and the rest of the Miami Heat. This series lies in the hands of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and most importantly Dwyane Wade. For the Celtics to win, Ray Allen has to be hitting his threes. Pierce has to play like he did in the 2007 NBA Playoffs, which culminated in him getting the better of Kobe Bryant. If Allen isnt averaging 18 points per game and Pierce 30,5,and 5, it will be tough sledding. The rest of these guys (Garnett, Rasheed Wallace) just have to piece together their artificial limbs for this series. For the Miami Heat to win, Dwyane Wade has to play out of his mind. They are not going to win unless he is carrying the team on every possession and keying every defensive stop. He has to carry the load and have atleast one or two 50 point games for the Heat to even have a chance. The rest of the Heat have proven they are inconsistent at best. Prediction: Boston in 7 West 2 Dallas Mavericks VS 7 San Antonio Spurs The Dallas Mavericks, led by Dirk Nowitski, look to better their chances of facing the Lakers two rounds from now with a quick series against the old, broken down, Spurs. I am eager to see the matchup between power forwards Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitski. Clearly, with age, Dirk has the upper hand. I expect Dirk and wily veteran Jason Kidd to lead Dallas over the Spurs Prediction: Dallas in 6 1 Los Angeles Lakers VS 8 Oklahoma City Thunder It is the only matchup in the first round pitting two Top 5 players against eachother (arguably a series with 2 of the 3 best players) with the Laker's Kobe Bryant and the Thunder's Kevin Durant. Kobe hasn't been playing great recently, but look for this postseason to really show whether Kobe is all about winning, or all about the stats. If it is about winning, he is going to shoot 15 times a game and dump it off to Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. If it is about the stats, he is going to shoot 25 times a game and only start dumping to Gasol when he is 8-25 from the field. Kevin Durant may have had a stellar season, but expect him to be dazed and confused by the defensive schemes the Laker's Phil Jackson will concoct to keep him off. He is going to be covered by Ron Artest, who doesn't mind touching the ball twice if he shuts down the other team's star. Prediction: Lakers in 6
  7. Woops, my mistake. I was reading an article about Aaron Kampman and I typed his name instead of DE Jason Pierre Paul. I actually do know a bit about the NFL and CJ Spiller would be a good pick. The Jaguars need ticket sales, and a game breaker like Spiller will put people in the stands.
  8. i think it gets alot tougher after this, van hoo, but here is my 8-12. Feel free to disagree, it is very hard to project after a certain point what team is doing what. 8. Raiders- OT Bruce Campbell 9. Buffallo Bills- OT Trent Williams 10.Jaguars- DE Jason Pierre- Paul (though i think they will trade down and get CJ Spiller) 11.Broncos- ILB Rolando McClain 12.Dolphins- NT Dan Williams
  9. The NFL Draft is fast approaching. While before, it seemed like the St. Louis Rams would draft phenom defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska, it now seems like they are leaning towards Oklahoma quarterback Samuel Bradford. Bradford looked excellent in his pro day (as does everyone in the draft...) and is much bigger than anyone expected. It looks like he has packed on some pounds of hard muscle, needed to take the hits of defensive linemen in the NFL. Ndamukong Suh seems like a lock to go to the Lions as the #2 overall. Unlike Gerald McCoy, Suh's presence is felt every play. Even if Suh doesnt get a tick on the stat sheet for a sack, tackle, or deflected pass, he is always making his presence felt by hurrying the quarterback. Also unlike Gerald McCoy, Suh has no work ethic and motor issues. Because of his freakish talent, Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy will go #3 to the Buccaneers. If McCoy really pushes himself, he can have a solid rookie year. The Redskins at #4 have already solved their quarterback issue with the trade for veteran QB Donovan McNabb. That means they will most likely select offensive tackle Russell Okung out of Oklahoma State. Either that, or they will trade down to get an offensive linemen in the late first and another in the early second. Here is my mock draft 1. St Louis Rams- Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford 2. Detroit Lions- Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh 3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy 4. Washington Redskins- Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung 5. Kansas City Chiefs- OT Bryan Bulaga 6. Seattle Seahawks- Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen 7. Cleveland Browns- Tennessee S Eric Berry 8. Raiders- OT Bruce Campbell 9. Buffallo Bills- OT Trent Williams 10.Jaguars- DE Jason Pierre-Paul(though i think they will trade down and get CJ Spiller) 11.Broncos- ILB Rolando McClain 12.Dolphins- NT Dan Williams
  10. The fact is, if he doesnt win the Super Bowl but makes it to the playoffs next year, he will have been a huge success. But, in Philly, just making the playoffs isnt enough.
  11. So in return for a 2010 second round pick (37th overall) and a conditional 3rd or fourth rounder in 2011, the Redskins have acquired the 11 year Eagles starter, Donovan McNabb. The Redskins seem to be in a "win this year or bust" kind of mode. Theyve cut a few young guys, and have brought in seasoned veterans like ex Steelers RB Willie Parker and ex Chiefs RB Larry Johnson. The Redskins still havent done anything with the unit that has failed the last two years-offensive line. If McNabb doesnt have an offensive line to protect him, hes not going to do better than Jason Campbell. Hes going to get injured, and then Rex Grossman (shudder) will be the starter. However, if McNabb has a decent offensive line, he can have a great year if he puts his mind to it. He has proven he can win with sub par talent around him. His biggest point of shame in Philly was that he couldnt win a Super Bowl. In Washington, if he leads up to the NFC Championship Game, like he did in Philly 5 times, he will be accepted. Malcolm Kelly has already said McNabb is the team leader. Meanwhile the ever-shunned Jason Campbell has left voluntary offseason conditioning. Jason Campbell is really tricky. He is a restricted free agent. The Redskins have a first round tender offered, which means if he leaves the Redskins and signs with another team, that team owes the Redskins a first rounder. It is most likely, with Rex Grossman already on the roster, that Campbell will be traded for a third or fourth round pick. As a die hard skins fan, I hope this works. But, seeing the teams luck lately with big name veterans (Jason Taylor and Albert Haynesworth), Im not too optimistic
  12. pm me ingame, ill send the tech
  13. Havent posted for awhile and I wanna voice my opinion on a few things Tim Tebow I love Tim Tebow. Hes awesome. Great guy. But I saw those vids of his new, tighter throwing motion. The guy looks like a kid just learning to throw a football. I hope hes a fast learner, because NFL training camp is going to be tough for him. Tim Tebow's throwing motion is a definete failure for the University of Florida coaches. Why didnt anyone fix the old, whirling motion when he stepped on the campus as the freshman. If a coach had taken a few days to fix his motion four years ago, we might be talking about Tim Tebow as the greatest college football player ever, and the clear cut Number 1 overall draft pick March Madness Way to go Kansas. I guess two championships in three years isnt much encouragement Redskins WTF is going on in DC? I hope Bruce Allen knows what he is doing, because he let go of some guys who laid everything on the line for the skins, and have been there alot longer than Allen or Shanahan combined. I guess the Redskins couldnt find enough mediocrity on their own roster, so they signed washed up ex Bears quarterback Rex Grossman. Yes, that Rex Grossman. Quarterbacks Right now, the only quarterbacks signed to play next year on the Redskin's roster are Rex Grossman and Colt Brennan. If a new deal isnt worked out with Jason Campbell, the Redskins might go with either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen in the NFL draft. hopefully next post will be sooner
  14. haha i need readers to patch that up, I don't follow baseball much until October.
  15. Hahah Daryll Clark? He is a fine player, but I doubt he has ever put up 570 yards in a game. Last I checked, Jevon Sneed was leading Ole Miss to rock bottom after they were ranked #4. Look up Case Keenum's stats. They don't lie.
  16. Headlines Chris Henry, Bengals wide receiver, found dead from injuries suffered after falling out of his pickup truck in a domestic dispute Vinny Cerrato, Redskins former VP of football ops, resigns. He will be replaced by Bruce Allen Friday 8:00 EST Montana takes on Villanova in FCS Championship game Outrageous Picks Neither the Colts nor the Saints will reach the Super Bowl. The Colts in the AFC will lose to the Chargers and the Saints will lose to the Vikings Somethings to make you wonder... Villanova, playing in the FCS Championship game, defeated Temple, who is going to a bowl in FBS Where the hell is Graham Harrell, the career FBS touchdown leader? On the BCS and Heisman Heres a post I made on the CN Forums but didnt post here: (December 9, 2009) College Football Power Rankings: 1. TCU 2. Alabama 3. Boise State 4. Texas 5. Cinncinnati 6. Florida
  17. Woe in DC...for now. The Redskins are horrible. With a 10 point loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, they have cemented themselves as one of the worst teams in the league and completely out of playoff contention. I just cant see how anyone can blame Zorn for all the woes...the Redskins problems start at the top. Dan Snyder, the owner, is horrible. He pays 100,000,000 dollars for a defensive tackle who doesnt play half the snaps in the season, and uses no money to revamp an offensive line ravaged by age and injury. Clinton Portis didnt go from 1,500 yards to absolutely no production this year by himself. Jason Campbell didnt go from MVP of the NFL for the first half of the year to 100 passing yards a game by himself. The makeshift offensive line is horrendous. Dan Snyder needs to hire a powerful General Manager so he can leave the football stuff to the football guys. He needs to make an effort to resign Jason Campbell if Campbell is willing to take a cheap contract. He needs to draft some young offensive linemen and a breakaway running back. The Redskins may not win another game this year, and us hardcore Skins fans dont deserve this. But maybe there is a positive side in the city of DC. Basketball season tips off tonight, and Gilbert Arenas, AKA Agent Zero is back to crush Lebron and lead the Washington Wizards to the holy land. In hockey, 2 time reigning MVP Alexander Oveckin is getting the Capitals pumped to crush Sid the Kid and Malkin in the playoffs. So fear not, the people of DC. We will have out glory!
  18. The University of Houston may just be the best team no one has ever heard. Yesterday, the number two rated offense of last year put the beatdown on the number five team in the nation, Oklahoma State. Case Keenum is the best quarterback EVER who you have not heard of. Last year he threw for more yards than all three of last years Heisman candidates (Bradford, McCoy, Tebow). it will be a shame if he isnt a candidate thid year. If you want to look smart, tell your co workers and your friends that Case Keenum and Houston are going to make a big splash with the BCS. Other News 1 Florida lays down another smackdown, holding Troy to only 6 points USC sneaks past Ohio State in primetime matchup. Michigan upsets 18 Notre Dame
  19. Heisman Watch Sam Bradford's injury effectively knocks him out of Heisman contention. Tim Tebow may be the best college football player in the world but Urban Meyer isnt going to have him throwing when the Gators are up by 60 points, which showed as Tebow only threw 15 passes against Charleston Southern. Olympic sprinters/ running backs Chris Rainey and Jeffrey Demps are to good for Tebow to be able to throw 30 times. Right now Colt McCoy is the front runner. He does the bulk of the work in the Texas offense with 29 attempts and 300 plus yards. My two dark horse picks are BYU Quarterback Max Hall, who outdueled Sam Bradford on Saturday and Notre Dame Quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who threw for 300 plus yards and four touchdowns
  20. Jason Campbell: Im rooting for him this year. We heard all the excuses for him this year that his offensive line sucked, the offensive scheme keeps changing, he has small receivers, etc, etc. If he wasnt such a great teammate and such a smart guy with amazing potential, Todd Collins would have kept the job after going 4-0 as a starter in 2007. This preseason the offensive line looks great and Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly are trying to step up. Redskins VS Patriots: I cant wait to see Brian Orakpo put Tom Brady on his back. The Pats offensive line doesnt look to good. Baltimore Ravens: I cant stop raving about the Ravens. They have such a ball hawking defense. Everyone flies to the ball and they force fumbles and when they intercept passes, they return them for TDs. What Im watching: Im watching a boring game, Miami at Tampa Bay Philly VS Jacksonville: Well that was an interesting game. Michael Vick went 4-4 for 19 yards with one rushing yard and played 6 snaps. On the sidelines the camera caught Donovan McNabb making throat slashing gestures and if you read McNabb's lips he was saying, "Take him out, hes done" in reference to Michael Vick sharing snaps at quarterback with McNabb. I guess now it finally dawned on Donovan McNabb that the better Vick plays, the less that McNabb gets to play. Oh and back to the game, Philly won on a last minute field goal by David Ackers, 33-32
  21. During yesterday's game against the Patriots, the Bengals normal kicker Shane Graham was out with an injury. Instead of signing another place kicker, they turned to their do-everything, soccer fanatic, diva wide receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson. Chad kicked the game winning extra point and also drilled a kickoff all the way to the ten yard line. I wish we could see this more in football. Peyton Manning should start returning punts! Adrian Peterson should take some snaps at defensive end. Maybe Tom Brady should play alittle long-snapper.
  22. Brett Favre has officially signed a two year- 25 million dollar contract with the Minnesota Vikings. He will start their next preseason game on Saturday. I dont understand how he will hold up unless the Vikings sit him in the fourth quarter when the they are up by 10-14 points. Maybe they can lower his snap count by giving Tavaris Jackson some snaps in a gimmick play, or give Bernard Berrian and Chester Taylor some direct snaps in the wild cat
  23. NFL Preseason Power Rankings 1. New England Patriots It was a typical Bill Belichek early preseason-he signs a bunch of wily veterans for dirt cheap prices to surround his two stars-Tom Brady and Randy Moss. Tom Brady looked sensational in his first game back in almost a year. 2. Pittsburgh Steelers The returning Super Bowl champions have to now deal with having the bulls eye on their backs everytime they play someone. As you remember, the last time this team won a Super Bowl, they went 8-8 the next year. 3. Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco looked excellent in his first preseason game, and look for him to be the best deep threat quarterback this year. They still have a strong defense led by Ray Lewis and they also have a power running game 4. Philadelphia Eagles Im not completely sold on this team, but with the addition of Michael Vick they will probably finish 9-7 to 12-4. They may not even win the NFC East because any of those four teams in that division can contend for a Super Bowl 5. Tennessee Titans Excellent Running Game + Excellent Defense = Super Bowl contenders
  24. Fantasy Help RB-Adrian Peterson may seem like the easy pick for the number one overall pick. But, last year, both DeAngelo Williams and Michael Turner put up more fantasy points. I was sold on the Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams as my first pick wherever I landed, and got him as a steal as the ninth pick. QB- DO NOT DRAFT PEYTON MANNING IN THE FIRST ROUND. You may think he is the best quarterback for his intangibles, but intangibles dont get fantasy points. Stats do. Last year, in his MVP season, he was eighth out of all quarterbacks in fantasy points. If you wait till the second round, you can steal Aaron Rodgers, who ranked second behind Drew Brees in Fantasy Points. WR- GET RANDY MOSS. Tom Brady showed that he is back, and last time Brady and Moss were together, passing records were shattered. Preseason Action Rams 23, Jets 20 49ers 17, Broncos 16 Vikings 13, Colts 3 Saints 17, Bengals 7 To readers of this site: If Im not covering anything you want to be covered or are interested in, just tell me about it and I will voice my opinion.
  25. I obviously hate the Eagles being a Redskins fan, but that doesnt cloud my judgement about how good they are. I didnt like them to get to the Super Bowl last year because unlike all the experts, I didnt fall in love with them because of one win in Dallas. This year is a very different story, as I am actually sold on the Eagles . They might not make the playoffs, but they will do better than the Redskins. I loled when you said the Saints would do well. In a stacked NFC South, do you really expect them to have a better record than the Falcons or Panthers? Not to mention, the last two Super Bowls have proved defense wins championships, not record breaking passing games. The last two pass happy teams- the Patriots and Cardinals lost in the Super Bowl The NFC is very good this year, just wait for it.
