  1. Sports Roundup Brady looked great in his first game back. 10-15, 100 yards and 2 TD and 1 INT. Now I really wish I drafted him instead of Drew Brees as my quarterback. Redskins offensive line looked great. Sure they lost 0-23 but they played without their three top players- Alber Haynesworth, Clinton Portis, and Santana Moss. Jason Campbell looked bad...what a surprise? Ravens looked great. Who said Joe Flacco was going to hit a sophomore slump? Betts: Ladell Betts jersey name was changed to "Bettis" If Ladell Betts plays half as well as the last guy named Bettis, maybe the Redskins can get to a Super Bowl. Vick: The Eagles seem like a crappy choice for Vick. He was very close to choosing the Bengals, where he could go to a team without good backups. Kevin Kolb has proved he is a good quarterback, and the Eagles third string quarterback looked great in their game. Wild Cat: The Wild Cat offense, in my opinion, is waaay overrated. Just look at the numbers and you will see that apart from that New England VS Miami game, it was never very effective. Sure its great in college, but the NFL has too many amazing athletes on defense for it to work. Darren McFadden: Im loading up on his stock. Hopefully I can get somebody to trade him to me in my fantasy league
  2. So Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated. The conditions, set up by Almighty Ruler Roger Goodell state that Vick can be signed by a team, practice, go to training camp, and play in the last two preseason games. As the regular season starts, Goodell will assess how Vick has tried to become a better person, with the help of Vick's mentor, Tony Dungy. This makes sense by a business standpoint, but doesnt it seem that Vick has gone through enough? He spent 23 months in federal prison, lost his gigantic contract, filed for bankruptcy, and will never again get an edorsement deal. In the words of the ever-eloquent Terrell Owens, it just seems like "kicking a dead horse" I have no doubt in my mind that Vick will be a model citizen the rest of his life. Except for the dogfighting scandal, Vick was a model citizen. He often came to hang out with cancer patients, with the only rule being that no media was allowed. He often ran camps for disadvantaged kids, with again no media allowed. He did plenty for his community, and unlike many celebrities, he did it for the kids, not for the publicity. -------------- In other news, Brett Favre decides not to return to the Vikings to play another season.
  3. I just watched a game of Canadian football and I guess it was OK. I dont have much to choose from in terms of football, so its a good replacement until the NFL preseason starts in early August. Either the CFL isnt that great or the teams I was watching werent great because I would harken the level to a bad division I-A college team in the states. And plus they only have three downs...whats up with that?
  4. ....Im really miffed how Tim Tebow not win Best Moment for that epic speech...a good moment is watching something live, and I bet many more people watched the Florida, Ole Miss game over late night swimming... ...not relating to the ESPYS, but Im also miffed that Graham Harrell had to go to the CFL to find a job. If backup quarterbacks get drafted, why doesnt the college football career touchdown leader and fourth place in the Heisman not get drafted? ...it may seem that from my Brett Favre cereal post that im miffed that he cant make up his mind, but I dont really blame him for the media circus...if ESPN reporters are going to complain about Brett Favre, why dont they just stop talking about him!!The media makes it a media circus, not Brett Favre. At 40 years old, I highly doubt he enjoys all this negative attention...
  5. I shall be out of town for a week or so, and I wont be able to update the blog. If you want to hear my opinion on something that happens in that time post it here or on the CN blog. (ski beat me to the U19 thing, congrats to them and Jamie Dixon) Tour de France: Lance Armstrong is in third, seconds behind the leader. Lesnar: Brock Lesnar wins, then makes a mockery of himself by flicking off the crowd and dissing the sponsors. Summer League: After seeing Sam Young of Pitt play, he looks like he is on his way to a good NBA career. BREAKING NEWS: BRETT FAVRE HAD CEREAL FOR BREAKFAST!!!!OMG!!!
  6. Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford has no respect for royalty. During a pickup game at the Lebron James Skills Academy, Crawford put down a thunderous dunk over the taller, stronger, older, and overall better Lebron James. According to laughing NBA Scouts, Crawford "posterized Lebron really well" Wanna see the embaressing tapes of Lebron on Youtube? Well to bad for you, because Nike officials forcibly removed the tapes from all media camcorders. Of course Nike doesnt want to see Lebron get posterized by some kid who is probably going to end up playing in Europe or Turkey in a few years. But come on, I really want to see Lebron owned! So support our freedoms to record whatever we want, and boycott Nike until they release the tape!
  7. Magic Repeat Sure the Magic got Vince Carter, which looks good on paper. But when you realize 3 out of 5 of their starters are not on the team anymore, what chance do they have of making the finals again. Desperate in Cleveland Lebron James reportedly got down on his knees and begged free agent Trevor Ariza to come to Cleveland, also saying he will play for the team past next season....thats strange, last I checked Trevor and Lebron both play the same position. Michael Jackson The moment someone dies, it seems the media stops dissing on them...one second he was Wacko Jacko, the next second he was the greatest artist ever Ron Artest Ron Artest will take a new step in his career, as he will reportedly sign with the Lakers. Is LA big enough for the combined egos of Kobe and Ron?
  8. You only get this !@#$ if your attractive. If your an unattractive girl in a man's world, you just crave these things
  9. NBA Draft: Griffin is taken Number 1, Thabeet going 2. My pick for the rookie of the year is neither, I believe that Stephen Curry will have the greatest impact as a rookie, because the kid has range. When he was hit with a double team, he would just calmy step 6 feet from the line and drill a three. The only downside of Curry is his defense. Team US Soccer Nice going guys. Im very proud, both of the team and because I watched a soccer game for the first time on TV. It seems the Europeans on the forums still have no respect for you guys, so prove them wrong and beat Brazil!!! Or just dont lose by three goals. Brandon Jennings $@y !@#$%^& anyone? The guy shows up late for the draft, and when David Stern was nice enough to announce him again when he showed up, he got on stage and threw his arms up in triumph, leaving Stern hanging for a hand shake. Brandon: Not going to college doesnt give you an excuse to be this stupid. Ricky Rubio Looks like he wont be playing in the NBA this year, because after being drafted to play in Minnesota, he said "his mom doesnt like cold weather" Ricky: Your an NBA player now, stop living with your parents and go boink some girls. You cant just make a team waste a pick on you and then opt to go back to Spain.
  10. US Open: Glover wins it. I would like to take this time to say that when the experts have their equation that says who will win an event, it is ALWAYS wrong. The equation said Geoff Ogilvy would win, he ends up getting pummelled. Oh and I will say this: Tiger Woods is WAAAAY out of it. The only reason he isnt Number 2 in the world is because Phil Mickelson keeps giving away majors. United States U16 Basketball: Hampton Roads, Virginia's own, James McAdoo puts up 20 points and gets 13 rebounds to lead the US team to a win over Argentina. NBA Draft: Its no doubt Blake Griffin is going first. I would not pick an international player Number 2, which is why there is no clear favorite. All of the players that may go 2 (James Harden, Ricky Rubio, Hasheem Thabeet) have glaring holes in their game. Thats why I would go with point guard Tyreke Evans out of Memphis. Evans is 6 foot 7 with a 6 foot 11 wingspan and has tremendous strength. He has an NBA body unlike point guard Ricky Rubio. Take Rubio: Its no doubt Spain's Ricky Rubio is very talented, with plenty of experience playing against great US players(he played very well against the US in the Olympic gold medal game). But he is the typical scrawny European, and wont be able to handle the rigors of an 82+ game schedule. He may not even play on his NBA team, insteading opting to go back to Spain if he doesnt like the team.
  11. still looking for two or three more sellers
  12. Im buying 100 tech from two sellers for 3M each. PM my nation http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=139343
  13. Man athletes need to get over themselves and just stick to what they are good at. Lebron James thinks just because he was a high school receiver he would be the number one pick in the NFL draft? Kobe Bryant thinks just because he is 6 foot 6 he can play at the NFL level, despite the fact that he never played football and grew up in Italy. Just because both are amazing at their sport, doesnt mean they can be good at another threw sheer athleticism. And now to the point.... Shaq challenges the mammoth Japanese fighter, who beat roided up former MLB player Jose Canseco in one minute, to an MMA fight. The fighter is seven feet tall and weights about 330 pounds. Shaq is seven foot two and weights reportedly 350 pounds. Shaq, your almost 38 years old. Just because your used to beating up on chumps who weight 150 pounds less than you, doesnt mean you can pick on someone your own size. This guy beats up chumps for a living. He took out Jose Canseco, a pretty ripped guy, in one minute. He wants to beat up famous chumps like you. Now Im not saying I dont want to see this, because I love seeing athletes trying to play other sports and getting punked. I would love to see Lebron join the Browns, and get jacked up by Troy Polomalu. I would love to see Kobe trying to go over the top and getting punked by James Harrison. I can just see both of them on the ground wondering, "Wheres the flagrant foul! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!!!" I love you Shaq, but stick to eating doughnuts and beating up on little guys.
  14. 'roids: Sammy Sosa tests positive for Performance Enhancing Drugs Golf: US Open begins tomorrow Basketball Free Agency: Pistons reportedly offer free agent shooting guard Ben Gordan a base salary of $11 million to join the team Shaq Deal: Still in the works Lakers Parade: The Lakers celebrate their 15th franchise NBA title with a parade today
  15. Breaking News: After pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter, Cleveland Browns wideout Donte Stallworth receives 30 days in jail. ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME? Stallworth kills a man while driving under the influence of alcohol and he receives 30 days! Commisioner Roger Goodell is considering a suspension. Am I missing something? Michael Vick lets his cousins run a dogfighting enterprise at his house and people dont even want Vick to ever return to the game and when Donte Stallworth KILLS A MAN, he gets 30 days in jail. Plaxico Buress gets arrested for an illegal gun, which the majority of NFL players have. The sentence entails ATLEAST 3 and a half years in prison. 3 years in prison for having a gun, while Stallworth gets 30 DAYS FOR KILLING SOMEONE! What the hell is wrong with our justice system?
  16. The Diesel teaming up with the King? Preliminary talks are starting between the Cavs and the Suns, which if agreed upon, would send Shaq to the Cavs for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. Do you realize how great this is? If we thought that Kobe VS Lebron would be awesome, how great would it be if Kobe met his archenemy (Shaq) and his greatest rival (LBJ) in the Finals!!! Epic. Shaq did average 17 points and 8 rebounds and was an All Star last year. One of the major reasons they want him is so he can play defense against Dwight Howard, which Zydrunas Ilgaulskus couldnt do. Not to mention that if they give up Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, Wallace is considering retirement and Pavlovic isnt even in the Cavs 8 man rotation.
  17. The Finals LA wins the NBA Championship in 5 games. I picked them in 7 games, which the series easily couldve gone seeing as Orlando choked away two games. Im glad to see all the guys who got ripped last year (Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Luke Walton) came back and played stellar this year. Trevor Ariza and Lamar Odom are going to be a free agents next year. If the Lakers want to repeat, they HAVE to resign both of these guys, which isnt going to be cheap. Take Kobe: Kobe finally won one without Shaq. Now he has 4 championships, same as Shaq and the Lakers are favorites to win it again. If you dont think Kobe Bryant really wanted this to the point he was going crazy, when he smashed his already broken finger on his right hand and was asked if he wanted ice and painkillers during half times, Kobe responded, "I want to feel the pain!" Mans game, Kobe.
  18. In progress for posting on NpO forums Ok readers of Goofy Goober's Sports Blog (located here, and now on CN forums) it is time for some March Madness. This is for the guy who wouldnt know Devin Devindorf if he was shouting expletives at you on top of a scorers table. Its also for the dudes who want to gain an edge on making brackets and betting on games. This is part one of a two part guide Number One Seeds 1. University of Louiseville Conference: Big East Record: 28-5 Achievements: Big East Regular Season Champions, Big East Tourney Champs, Number One overall seed. Spin: This is a big team, who was been playing great recently. Im worried about lack of experience but Louisville is definetly a lock for the Final Four and favorite for the NCAA Championship 1. University of North Carolina Conference: ACC Record:28-4 Achievements: ACC Regular Season Champions Spin: Ty Lawson is currently injured with a toe, but hes not going to sit out his last NCAA tournament if he has any say in it. If he plays, this is a very dangerous team. Hansborough will step up, its the last time were ever going to see him play a meaningful role on a team. 1. University of Connecticut Conference: Big East Record- 27-4 Achievements: Spin: Losing two games to Pitt this year, everyone sees the blaring way to beat this team. A big, strong big man(Dejaun Blair of Pitt) can muscle out Thabeet from the paint. Blair shut Thabeet down, despite being 8-9 inches shorter than him. Memphis has some big guys who can definetly beat up on UCONN. I dont expect them to make it out of their region. 1. University of Pittsburgh Conference: Big East Record: 28-4 Achievements: Beat top seeded UCONN twice in regular season Spin: Levance Fields has played amazingly for this team at the point, but if Dejuan Blair is in foul trouble or fouled out, this team tanks it. Sleepers My main sleeper is VCU. Virginia Commonwealth University is led by point guard sensation Eric Maynor. VCU upset second seeded Duke last season and has brought back all starters from that team. Great team, I gurantee a win against UCLA Two Seeds Duke and Memphis are definetly the most dangerous two seeds.
