March Madness
In progress for posting on NpO forums
Ok readers of Goofy Goober's Sports Blog (located here, and now on CN forums) it is time for some March Madness. This is for the guy who wouldnt know Devin Devindorf if he was shouting expletives at you on top of a scorers table. Its also for the dudes who want to gain an edge on making brackets and betting on games. This is part one of a two part guide
Number One Seeds
1. University of Louiseville
Conference: Big East
Record: 28-5
Achievements: Big East Regular Season Champions, Big East Tourney Champs, Number One overall seed.
Spin: This is a big team, who was been playing great recently. Im worried about lack of experience but Louisville is definetly a lock for the Final Four and favorite for the NCAA Championship
1. University of North Carolina
Conference: ACC
Record:28-4
Achievements: ACC Regular Season Champions
Spin: Ty Lawson is currently injured with a toe, but hes not going to sit out his last NCAA tournament if he has any say in it. If he plays, this is a very dangerous team. Hansborough will step up, its the last time were ever going to see him play a meaningful role on a team.
1. University of Connecticut
Conference: Big East
Record- 27-4
Achievements:
Spin: Losing two games to Pitt this year, everyone sees the blaring way to beat this team. A big, strong big man(Dejaun Blair of Pitt) can muscle out Thabeet from the paint. Blair shut Thabeet down, despite being 8-9 inches shorter than him. Memphis has some big guys who can definetly beat up on UCONN. I dont expect them to make it out of their region.
1. University of Pittsburgh
Conference: Big East
Record: 28-4
Achievements: Beat top seeded UCONN twice in regular season
Spin: Levance Fields has played amazingly for this team at the point, but if Dejuan Blair is in foul trouble or fouled out, this team tanks it.
Sleepers
My main sleeper is VCU. Virginia Commonwealth University is led by point guard sensation Eric Maynor. VCU upset second seeded Duke last season and has brought back all starters from that team. Great team, I gurantee a win against UCLA
Two Seeds
Duke and Memphis are definetly the most dangerous two seeds.
