I should have known better than to post this message and have to head out for a few days. The "verbal agreements" are few and far between. Generally, they are used while the details of a protectorate are being worked out. See the Cyber Revolutionaries incident from a few weeks ago. Like MW said, we do implement many of these suggestions already. That still seems to not stop the continued nooberty...hence, this message. -Oz

Planet Bob, Recently the STA made an announcement regarding raiding on their Cadets. The Dark Templar have been having a similar problem with our Probes and Protectorates. Let it be known that the Dark Templar's "academy AA" is "DT Probes" and these guys are off-limits when it comes to raiding. DT will be requesting that nations that raid this AA declare peace and pay reparations. Refusal to do so will result in taking these reparations with force. Having said that, raiding has also occurred with our Protectorates. The Dark Templar currently protects Blackhorse, Krynn, Flying Hellfish United, and the Cyber Revolutionaries. Quite a bit of fail here...but duly noted. To retort: CR handled the situation with nato12 with great professionalism. Please read the entire thread and understand all the actors in the play before making judgments on our decisions. Hell, I'm the MoFA for DT and we're protecting CR...I have no problem with throwing diplomacy out the window when a nation repeatedly attempts to extort our ally.

During the last two weeks, The Dark Templar have been discussing a protectorate agreement with the Cyber Revolutionaries. Given today's events, I, acting as the Lord of Foreign Affairs, hereby declare that the Cyber Revolutionaries are now under our protection. The United Coalition of Nations would do well to back off. Continued nooberty will be terminated with extreme prejudice. A more formal agreement will be posted at a later date.

I think the black-and-white thinking of a "Order camp" vs a "Chaos camp" is a bit of a stretch. If anything, a balance of power has been reached between two sides, but neither are truly monolithic. We like to pretend that one side represented Order and the other side represented Chaos because one side used Order in their AA and the other liked being lulzy.

My point has nothing to do with political correctness. It's about creating an open community that welcomes new groups of players. We don't have to quash and stomp each new batch of nations. As the above poster has stated, that's quite a bunch of new tech sellers.

Can we stop calling them an "invasion" alliance? You know, it's not that awful to have new players in this game, especially in an alliance that can organize 150+ to join at once.
