NG leaving PB 6 months after the event is neither here nor there. Your argument would hold more substance if NG had cancelled their treaty with FOK, they haven't.

Regardless since ones choice of alliance is undoubtedly a reflection of their beliefs and what they value, criticising ones choices is a perfectly valid way to demonstrate why they may not be deserving of respect.
