1. After reading that wall of text, I think you're trying to say that GLoF is mean because they expected you to fight when you joined them during a time of war. That's just the way the Cyberverse works, though. It would be cause for concern if GLoF DIDN'T expect that. That they do means they're doing it right.
 2.
I'm pretty sure he's doing it for himself. He has nothing to lose and if he's going to take the abuse that he has (IC and OOC,) why not bring the house down? While a bunch of toadies may have appeared some of the other whispers have been quite right, in that this has easily been the strongest blow dealt to the power structure in quite some time. You also seem to indicate that the amount of posting in favor or against matters. Even if a thousand people believe a silly thing, it is still a silly thing. The numbers are nowhere near that vast, and I assure you this is getting more than its average whispers elsewhere. The facts and history are on Roquentin's side. Again, you're misunderstanding if you thought Roquentin was doing this for love.
That's just it, Myth. As far as the Cyberverse is concerned, Roquentin has EVERYTHING to lose.
 3.
Well the part where MK gov stated they would have given up bros nation to UPN and if my memory serves me right money could have been the possibility. Or did you not listen to bootleg radio where they stated this?
Perhaps. Hindsight sure is 20/20 though. I have doubts as to whether that actually would have happened.
 4.
Yea but you're not punishing them for it though are you.
Please explain how you think UPN can punish MK.
 5. *eyeroll* Congratulations, Roquentin. You've kept the entire Cyberverse on the edge of their seats for the better part of a week now waiting for your big bomb, only to treat us all to the pitiful snap of a cap gun. Face it, Roq. You've got nothing.
 6.
I'll go over this for informational purposes: We certainly wouldn't have attacked if not given the go-ahead, as doing so would have made absolutely no military sense. Actually, we did approach and make plans with Polaris; the plan for the preempt was made in conjunction with them. Moridin can confirm this. I agree that there was no master plan. He claims that there was one in an effort to cover up the fact that he simply fell apart emotionally during that war and started making stupid decisions, of which betraying TOP was one.
Your last line there was exactly what I was trying to convey, and couldn't think of the words for.
 7. So, with all the discussion of what Polar is and isn't responsible for, I find it necessary to say that no, TOP probably wouldn't have attacked if not given the go-ahead by Grub. I say this because TOP asked permission. If they planned to attack no matter what, they wouldn't have asked permission. They didn't approach and try to make a plan, and come up with it with Polaris... they literally asked permission, and that's why I say that I don't think they'd have attacked if Grub hadn't granted that permission. Whether it was a double cross by Grub, I honestly don't know. I suspect it wasn't, though. He alludes to it being his plan the whole time now, but STA talked to him extensively at the time, and unless he outright lied to our faces, it wasn't his plan. I know for sure that absolutely no one else in Polaris knew about the plan, if there was one. That also leads me to the conclusion that he didn't plan it that way. Obviously, that's not absolution, and I'm not pretending it is. I'm just giving my perspective here. As for the rest... well, my previous post in this thread touched on that.
 8.
Paradoxia never forgets and Paradoxia always pays back.
I suspect that sometime down the road, you'll learn that others don't forget so easily either. Congratulations on your win.
 9.
http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=109111
That's absolutely unacceptable, dude. Tasteless as hell.
 10.
Anyone outside of the PB/DH/C&G trio. Like I said I don't really think of any of you as bad since you're not running the show and you haven't done anything that bad. Mj showed a lot of magnamanity, for instance. But yes generally letting people !@#$ on you ends badly. Like I could have said "I'm so sorry Pacifica, I'm going to curl up like a worm and return Sparta to political inertia" just wasn't going to happen. or I could have acknowledged that my resume is non-existent, which would be a lie.
In order to achieve your goal, that trio would have to be split up, I think. I can't think of any way to do it without that happening... at least not for many months.
 11.
Archon said UPN deserved it for trusting his alliance in general and bros in particular. If they are stupid enough... or something to that effect. He repeatedly mentioned roqs state of mind in public. He is not the 1st MK gov to make ooc attacks in public. Remember stormsends blog? I agree with you, they should keep their ooc attacks to their own forum but even their leadership seem incapable of doing this.
No. Archon stated that that's what UPN said when Bros went to apologize to them.
 12.
I don't talk down to anyone. On the radio show, I said I am a piece of !@#$. I don't think you get for a long time I had very low self-esteem. It kind of happens when you're an "ADHD" kiddie and everything stresses you out and is hard for you. The good thing is now I can focus a lot better and I don't even need |ooc: medication| at this point
But you have been talking down people. You don't realize it, but you have. You've done so with the assumption that people will follow you, based on a perceived notion you have of incompetence over here. It would be ok for someone like maybe Tyga or even Delta to say "Hey, you know what guys? I think we might be incompetent." It's not ok for you, an outsider, to imply that this side of the web is. Well, it's ok for you to imply it, but it's not going to win you any respect points. In my example of why it's ok, there's the "we", because they've lived it. You just plain haven't.
 13. You'd have to speak to them about tech deals. I have no idea. I can, however, tell you that a good first step would be to stop condescending and start showing a little respect to the people you want to lead. I know that you don't think you're condescending to people, but you definitely are. It has, and is, leaving a very bad taste in people's mouths to have you, someone who has greatly assisted in beating down this side of the web, show up and say "Well, I'm here now! I'll take over now, thanks!" We're beaten down, and we have been for a long time. We're not broken though. We have some of the strongest communities in the Cyberverse, and it's completely understandable that we're going to be more than a little wary of someone who helped lead the enemy's charge to war against us.
 14. You mistake my respect for idolatry. They are not the same thing. The bottom line, Roquentin, is that in order to be a successful leader, you must have the respect of your soldiers. Because you have done nothing to earn the respect of the people you are asking to fight for you, they are not going to follow you.
 15.
My resume: Karma, PB-NpO/DH. Bailing out SG as well. Honestly, Brehon came off worse than I did. I don't know how him exploding all over me makes me look bad.
I was there, and actively participated in Karma. I don't recall you taking any sort of leadership role there above and beyond the norm. It was a long time ago, so I'll grant that I might be forgetting something, but it was the first war that I was really active in the planning for, and I paid attention. You were on the side opposite most of this side of the web in the VE-NpO. No one here saw you do much of anything. You'd be requiring us to take your word for it, and given that you're here blabbing secrets and acting like a general lunatic, that's not likely to happen. I have no idea what you're talking about with SG, so no comment there. Your resumé isn't very impressive. You're essentially a stranger over here. I'm sure that if and when the time comes, people would be willing to let you participate, but you're not going to be the guy in charge. If you are, there just won't be any support for the war.
 16. I've followed Archon before, and to be frank, it was pretty awesome. That dude can get !@#$ done, and he is able to do it in a way that makes people WANT to follow him. He is the epitome of a leader, and while the treaty web is the way it is, I'm not going to be in a position to follow him again, but rest assured, should the web flip around again, you can bet your bat !@#$ crazy ass that I'd do it again. Say what you want about LM... I don't particularly like the guy, but again, he got !@#$ done. He was successful as hell in Karma. He ended up leading because he pitched a fit and it was made clear that GRE wouldn't participate if he wasn't allowed to lead the military, and that really ruffled a lot of feathers, but the dude got it done. He did a really good job. I think you're laboring under a misapprehension if you think Grub ran the BiPolar war. That's... not what happened at all. But let's just disregard all that stuff anyway, and pretend you're correct here. I'm willing to do that, for purposes of this conversation. Convince people. What is it you have done that means people should follow you? What's your resumé? This is an important question, because the people you're asking to follow you don't know you, as until you needed them to be your army, you didn't really acknowledge them outside of war. So we're all listening now. Why should you be followed?
 17.
pezstar: roadie made it clear XX/SF needs Gordon Bombay. So please stop.
Roadie has ZERO to do with XX or SF. And even if he DID, I can ASSURE you, that savior sure as hell wouldn't be you. And even if those alliances let you lead them to...whatever the hell it is you're trying to lead people to, they'd quickly find themselves between a rock and a hard place, because the consensus is that no one is going to follow you. That said, if Nagasaki is as volatile as what I'm hearing, things are going to get extremely interesting, very soon.
 18.
Roq applications for the NSO are not handled here. Also, please read the rest of the application form before reciting our code.
Maybe he thinks he spied it off your board.
 19. I am dropping the logs. Clearly, these are legit. <brehon> I AM A LIAR
 20. I'm disappointed that my interview didn't make it in. I'm going to post it here so everyone can see how amazing we are for... rebuilding to 1M. 14:43] <scratchscreen> Hi, are you a member of Siberian Tigers? 01[14:43] <pezstar> I'm the chancellor, yes. [14:44] <scratchscreen> Hello, I'm Scratchscreen-from In Layman's Terms (OWF News Snippets sort of thing)...would you mind if I asked you a few questions? 01[14:44] <pezstar> Sure. [14:45] <scratchscreen> Congrats on 1 million strength. How do you think you achieved it? 01[14:45] <pezstar> Oh, the same way most rebuilding alliances do. Warchests and a lot of help from friends. [14:45] <scratchscreen> Friends? [14:46] <scratchscreen> You have friends? 01[14:46] <pezstar> Yes. OBR and TPF have sent us a lot of rebuilding aid. TPF asked NPO to send us aid, and they've sent some as well. [14:46] <scratchscreen> What would you change if you could go back and do something differently? 01[14:47] <pezstar> That's a broad question. Ever? In regards to the war? What do you mean? [14:47] <scratchscreen> With regard to your rebuilding [14:48] <scratchscreen> There must be some regrets. Do you wish you'd acted faster, for example? 01[14:49] <pezstar> We've started rebuilding like 2 weeks ago. We haven't hit any speedbumps yet. We haven't even started our own rebuilding plan yet, other than accept the aid, wait 20 days, buy infra, collect. So no, nothing yet. [14:49] <scratchscreen> What advice would you give to rebuilding alliances? [14:51] <scratchscreen> And what one statement could you offer about your rebuilding? 01[14:53] <pezstar> I appreciate the sentiment, but we've been rebuilding for 2 weeks. Our allies aren't even out of the war. We've barely scratched the surface of our rebuild, which takes MONTHS. So really, regarding rebuilding, there's really nothing to say. [14:53] <scratchscreen> One sentence statement about everything.... 01[14:54] <pezstar> "Why are you ghosting VE?" [14:54] <scratchscreen> Because they are strong, and I can.
 21.
Oh snap! Hopefully this one sticks for a while. Well, there's only so many ways they can say "Our stuff got blown up." Now that they're out of the war, I would not be surprised if they started the threads again.
We haven't done it in a really long time. We essentially got lazy. No more "This Week in Siberia" either.
 22.
They just have to not like MK or like Sparta. I'm sorry it had to come to this, lebubu, you didn't rein them in like I asked.
Yeah, see, this side of the web doesn't operate like that. You'd find that an aggressive attack without a CB over here wouldn't find the kind of support necessary.
 23.
Neither can they, yet they tried. I could get started on listing alliances that could go to war. You do realize a similar scenario to this one occurred with the SOS-NsO war where TLR was going to dive in head first with no preparation and not enough money? I suggest you don't try to outargue me. Like I said I've gotten so much crap for having been in cahoots with MK while MK had carte blance with GOD.
So, since you have a master list of alliances who could go to war, which ones, out of that list, have ANYTHING to do with your OP?
 24.
I don't see how this is any different from what MK did to Xiphosis. No one demanded MK go down with Xiphosis despite them being tied before or the fact that Ardus signed the Balkan Entente into existence. 1337 was one even one of the main proponents of the GOD-MK treaty.
Dude. NO ONE CAN GO TO WAR RIGHT NOW. We all just had our asses handed to us and are recovering. I get that you don't know that, because you were in Umbrella and are now in Sparta, but the way it works is that when you have run out of money and infra, you can't go to war. Settle down. The people who are affected by this stuff will handle it.
 25.
I don't screw over people unless they screw me. I could be Grub and keep confidentiality agreements when the fundamental covenant behind them has been shattered for quite some time. I don't think you really understand the amount of chances MK has had to avoid this. They wanted to be high and mighty instead. Leet outright says it in this thread that he has no regrets. People have entrusted their fate to Grub and LiquidMercury in the past. How am I any worse? People entrusted their fates to Leet in this the last war. How am I any worse?
...You might not be worse. But the difference is that we KNOW you're a snake. We didn't know it about Grub.
