I of course respect your decision to ZI cybermaster, as its no one's decision to make but your own. And for heaven's sake, Menotah agreed to it. I'm just asking - What are all of Menotah's offenses against Athens? All I know of is the business at the time of the merge, which Athens let go, then the recruitment PM from cybermaster.

I'm rather disappointed by Athens' conduct throughout this entire thing. This is the situation as I understand it, please tell me if I have my facts wrong: - DE and Athens merge; a small group are unhappy about the merge and form their own splinter alliance - Athens isn't happy about that splinter alliance from the start, accusations of member poaching beginning here, but through negotiations, Menotah is able to secure their "freedom" per se and go along their merry way - A recruitment PM is sent to an Athens (gov?) member by a Menotah noob. - That situation is cleared up diplomatically, with the member who sent the message being ZI'd. - Menotah, thinking the issue is resolved, go ahead and secure their protectorate with TOOL. - Athens plans to DoW Menotah, gets wind of the TOOL protectorate and talks to TOOL about the situation - TOOL then thinks Menotah lied to them and suspend the protectorate agreement Not attacking Menotah after all of that isn't mercy, its common sense. Where is the CB? Respectfully, it just seems there are a lot of sour grapes on the Athens side. This never should have been a big deal. As for TOOL, I don't understand why you suspended the protectorate. If you believe they lied to you, just cancel it. If you were unsure whether they lied to you, you shouldn't have suspended it at a time you believed Athens was going to declare. Lastly, I've seen a lot of rude posts in both this and mhawk's thread from both "sides". Interestingly, none came from Menotah. The few posts their gov have made have all been respectful, intelligent and for lack of a better word, valuable to the discussion - no spin, just telling their side.

I used it when I first joined the game. The distinction between "Sanctioned" and "Unsanctioned" alliances confused me at the time, theres not really any explanation in that thread.

I called no one a bad person. I'm only saying that those who destroy the efforts of others for "fun" shouldn't be bragging about it. I personally honor the work someone but into their nation/alliance, regardless of the fact its all pixels. If war is fun, I suggest all those who sign up for this to simply declare on each other. Respect that some players don't find any fun in it, and let them be.

This post leaves out the factor of alliances completely. Yes, its true that those going rogue are most likely doing more on cybernations.net than most players, excluding recruiters. But anyone working in an alliance is doing much more, albeit on their own forums. A person can become an expert at war in a matter of months, but running an Department in an alliance, or the alliance itself? That takes a lot more intelligence and effort. Personally I would do what Locke suggested, when I leave the game - aid my alliance, to benefit my friends. While I wouldn't call those who go rogue in the manner Denniswerf is organizing cowards, there is no honor in it. I wouldn't be surprised if some alliances viewed what he's doing as a threat. If someone were to attack UCN on Denniswerf's direction, I certainly wouldn't be very happy with him.
