  1. The Imperial Alliance hereby announces its presence and sovereignty over the Kerguelen Islands. Interim administrator Stephen Othran is presently commanding forces in the region. A statement from the new government is forthcoming. (OOC: Full gov specs, and details will be provided soon )
  2. Congrats IRON. Isn't there a cap on GRL though?
  3. To be honest we really just don't consider the OWF an important place which we need to really invest time into. IRON operates as it does for the benefit of its own members its friends and its allies. The entertainment of people who hang out here is therefor of little concern. We don't feel its necessary to tout and wave our accomplishments to gain anyone's favor here. Nor do we really care about the complaints or inquiries made here into our affairs. If other alliances believe that to be important they are of course free to spend as much time as they like here as many do, but we prefer to let this place be what it is and only spend time here when its necessary. Being modest in our activity here has served us well in the past by keeping us out of the cross hairs of trolls and generally promoted a classy perception around us. In short we prefer to let our actions speak for themselves; we try to do whats honorable and consistent with the agreements we hold as well as do whats in the best interest of our members. If people want to question our commitment to these things and question our integrity they may, but really its not something we are going to take too seriously. Moreover its not like we could really convince you to love us aros, you already have your mind fairly set, to bicker on this would do nothing but just generate bad feelings.
  4. Despite my previous defense to EZI the whole argument is largely irrelevant as we are not really saying no because hes an EZI. In fact IRON really doesn't even use the word "EZI" we just call everything a PZI; we are saying no because he insists on continuing to play with the Johnathan Brookbank Character. If he wants to start over as a new ruler and be a new person whatever, unless he goes back to his previous character and becomes obvious to us we probably won't even know hes there. We don't actively search out people on our list and historically we've let them go if or when we find them. IRON is an alliance ruled by people, not by arbitrary laws. So we largely just try to keep our options open, there is no black or white with the way we handle stuff like this, its just whatever we think the appropriate action is at the time.
  5. In either case whether you fail at convincing those in power, or choose to take more direct action nothing is done.
  6. No, we are just operating under different interpretations of "do something about it". If do something about it is harboring EZI targets, and trying to destroy alliances who declare people as such then of course you will be rolled your making your own enemies there. But no one is going to roll you for not having an EZI list yourself and encouraging your own allies to do the same.
  7. Avoid the crux of the argument if you like it doesn't change the point. No one is going to kill you for making an argument. There are a lot of people in this thread who have done just that, I don't see them all being ZI'd as we speak.
  8. That's not true. There is an EZI treaty floating around that several prominent alliances have signed, if people wish to legitimately rise to power in large alliances, share their ideas and win over their fellow leaders they are completely free to do that. However, if they wish to form "terrorist groups" or whatever you want to call them and wage ideological war, spy, and seek to destroy the power structure then they should expect a defensive resistance from that structure. Its one thing to work within the system its quite another to seek to seize it by outside means or destroy it.
  9. Perhaps this has already been pointed out, but i'll do it again. That is a reference to Shan's CB in the polar war against PUKE, and NV. As his reason for war he said "We don't like you, and want you dead". It has become a fairly common thing said around our gov as a joke. Fin was obviously joking and referencing this, not seriously threatening the life of JB. Saying otherwise is just an excuse to try to get mod or admin action against him. Anyone who would seriously consider JB's interpretation beyond simply humoring it for the sake of discussion needs to stop taking themselves and this game so seriously. To give a little context JB has been bugging the entire IRON leadership over the matter for awhile. I myself had a cool headed and polite conversation with him over the status of his EZI last week. This was not simply a random thing fin said it was the product of being annoyed for several weeks. He was simply ending the conversation by making it impossible to have a coherent discussion. We give everyone their fair chance to talk to us and argue their point but once denied no one can honestly expect us to hear the same argument twenty more times in a slightly more belligerent and aggressive tone. ZI's are ordered as a means of protection the point of which is to A ensure they can never become relevant within an alliance and B to ensure they themselves do not acquire nuclear weapons. The IC is simply a mask behind which lies the OOC operator if an operator acted one way with one mask why is protecting ourselves from that operator under a different mask any different or the reason any less real. The person is the same person. While sometimes a person has truly reformed and wishes to return and play in a completely different way, there are others who would inevitably abuse a ban on EZI's by simply re-rolling and continuing to harass their former character's enemies. Moreover, one thing that really makes this game good is the fact that there are few if any outside rules imposed upon game play. While there are a few bans due to legal and finical issues such as not allowing viceroys, the majority of the game structure is created by the players. If the power structure wants to have EZI's then that's just the way it is. If you don't like it then become powerful and change it. It's silly to go and ask for admin to intervene just because the people who make the decisions choose to subscribe to an alternative idea. Agreed.
  10. This happens to every alliance at some point, good luck getting things in order.
  11. Thank you Craig for falling on your sword; it demonstrates a lot of maturity and class.
  12. The Imperium would like to apply for membership of this entity.
  13. Fair enough, that doesn't change the point. Their motives are still more likely based on thills and personal fun than some IC notion of justice.
  14. I think you are oversimplifying a bit and assuming that the actions that are being committed are truly justified or at least have a reason behind them. Based on what I've seen and my own suspicions I am inclined to say that this attack is really just the result of a few skript-kiddyesque people who were looking for an excuse to DDoS a forum. In this sense their motives are not so much a sense of justice but rather simply the thrill they can get out of holding power over a large group of people. Their attacks on us have been quite persistent; while they have targeted NPO periodically it has usually been limited and stopped quickly. If they were truly motivated by the same underlying goals of yourself they wouldn't spend their time focusing on us but rather target NPO, or perhaps all of Continuum. Attacking us alone though doesn't really seem to do much to advance that cause though. As such they either have some very personal issues with us (And I would be hard pressed to find someone with a real reason to hate us), or they have a bad excuse and just want to harass some people over the internet.
  15. The Imperium has always been a progressive nation in terms of its public works, and treatment of its people, despite our apprehensions we have decided to modify the Articles of Order, our founding document and make some democratic reforms to the over all government. Presently our state is controlled principally by an Oligarchy which is dominated almost exclusively by the elite and already powerful. Sovereignty is derived from the potential coercive force of this entity. This will not change, however this body is only active when specially called to order by four of its six members. This only happens rarely and usually during a time of political crisis or dire need. What will change is the governmental structure that functions while this body is not in session. When not active the Oligarchy's power is transferred to a single individual known as the "Imperial Regent" who functions essentially as the autocrat, the remaining members of the Oligarchy serve as ministers under this individual. This position of Regent will be replaced with a three member Triumvirate. One member will be appointed by the Oligarchy, this will be the former Regent, and the other two posts shall be elected by the majority of Enfranchised individuals. Those elevated to these two seats will be permitted to serve a single term of ten years, one of the two seats will be up for election every five years. Considering no one is presently franchised besides the members of the Oligarchy an Enfranchisement Commission has been established under the Interior Ministry to manage the issue. There will not be Universal Suffrage in the Imperium contrarily only individuals deemed competent to wield such a power as the vote shall be allowed to do so. This will be determined based on objective assessment of intellect, knowledge of present events, political theory, economic theory, history, and so forth. It will also only be afforded to those presently paying taxes into the income tax structure as they are the only individuals who's property is being staked in the greater system. There will be no discrimination based on race, gender, age, made as long as said individual is judged competant and contributing to the system they will be granted the power. As we have an extensive public education system as well as a majority of our subjects being in the upper to middle class range it is the hope that most of our people will be able to share in this privilege. To fill the two open slots of the Triumverate while things are being set up, the Oligarchy has appointed two individuals to fill the slots; while Michael Deveraux the former Imperial Regent will be the permenant member representing the Oligarchy. The first individual appointed to fill the slot that will be up for election in ten years will be Stephen Othran formerly the Viceroy of Administrative Zone One (turkey). He has been deemed to be an effective administrator, and leader; as well as carries with him the experince to get the job done. The Second post which will be up for election in five years will be filled by Matthew Kaine, formerly Viceroy of Administrative Zone Two (Indonesia). Neither of these two indivdiual's term's will count against them as they were appointed not elected. Morgan Vars, and Richard Cremeax have been sent to replace these two individuals in their respective Viceroyalties.
  16. Just label it as a protectorate?
  17. Second that for IRON. We don't allow disclosure of IG war chests especially on the public forums. I also am against this for alot of the other reasons mentioned here. A it puts you at risk B its easy to fake C it would be difficult to keep track of and enforce. Those who do adhere to it would be at a disadvantage while those who didn't could just god mode with impunity.
  18. Ultimately I'd say you are harassing him by heckling him and questioning a done decision that is ultimately his to decide. Personally I don't care what he was referring to or why he is doing this; its his choice, and as long as he returns before twenty days then he isn't purged. Moreover, even if the harassment he is referring to was generated by his recently recruiting of NPO members into RP then is that any less legitimate a reason to want to step away?
  19. OOC: *Shrug* fair fair, of course the actual time line in RP is sketchy at best anyway. Maybe triyun's statement was several days later after randomly remembering it .
  20. OOC: "Policy" implies public. Your message to the CSA was not an isolated threat, but a reminder of your nations "policy" on fascists in the Americas. Maybe I am just mis-interpreting but I think that's why triyun didn't treaty it like a *classified* message. Also I very clearly remember you making a public announcement about this policy earlier. IC: The Imperial Airforce with the assistance of Osiris continues to suppress Mongolian efforts to reclaim airspace. The Imperium has also sent commands to its fleet to begin moving to the atlantic to assist Great Britain in the naval front there.
