LeVentNoir
In Wellington. LeVentNoir sat down at the table of Dukes and Duchesses. Clearing his throat he started to pass out papers. "Here are the preliminary plans for restoration of the Greater Pacific Holdings." A few eyebrows raised, but they sat silent. "Yes, We already have one of the island chains under our control, now to move in and take two others, and negotiate for the rest of the final one. We shall use Fiji as our base, with twin strikes using our new upgraded naval ability, and we shall seize Tonga, currently unheld. New Caledonia will be more difficult, but simple activation of the old Imperial defenses will render any attempt to retake it nigh impossible. The last target is harder. It is New Cymru's Vanuatuan Islands." Heads nodded. Some of this plan was going to be technical, but the military aspects would be simple. "The Dragonisian populace has gone underground, and reports of massive missile production have been passed to us. Unfortunately for them, we have technical aspects taken through bribery and coercement of industry players, and we must report, these ICBMs are not all they claim be be. Still, those would seem to be their only retaliation abilities, and the taking of New Caledonia should be easy." Dukes were whispering, the topic easily heard as which units to place on duty for this plan. "Once we have our military objectives completed, we shall start diplomatic measures with New Cymru, and if those break down, we shall blockade those islands pending military movements." "Now prepare the forces, I want three carrier groups assigned, and at least ten divisions assigned, with more ready to be mobilised." LeVentNoir
0000 - The night sky was light, normal for equatorial pacific at this time of year. Operation Silent Thief was activated. Off the coast of Tonga, one Carrier with a minimal escort of two Supercruisers and an Interdictor watched as the transports simply sailed upto the harbour, on after another, and discharged the troops, the men of 6th division, ten thousand troops, with logistical supplies for at least a month of fighting. However, racing through the streets in the middle of the night, these men successfully stopped any word getting out of this move. Radios, satellite phones and satellite links were seized or destroyed. Hard lines off the island were cut twice each. The few people of Tonga woke up to a new dawn, one where they were now part of Glorious Aotearoa, not living under the self government they were used to. 0100 - The gloom masked the men. Climbing out of their small rubber boats, they unloaded their weapons, and ran up the beach, urban camouflage working well in the tropical semi light. They hard their mission, cut all hard lines leaving this island. They ran quickly, and stormed into the main cable network centre, a carefully timed attack when there was only a skeleton staff. The plan was to heard them out of the building, then destroy it with explosives. 0200 - The missiles engines flared brightly in the darkness. The Kinetic Kill Missile Generation II's arced up from the ships sitting off the coast of New Caledonia. There were two Carriers with ten Supercruisers and 2 Interdictors. Almost every ship had fired some missiles, and now there were twenty of the deadly arrows flying through the night. They were aimed at the antennas of radar installations, from military to commercial. Higher priority was given to the military targets, as they had the power needed to detect the next wave of the attack. 0230 - Titans Fist Stealth Bombers attacked the mainland, targeting SAM sites and other AA defenses as well as military and civilian airfields. Airburst weapons were used against these soft targets, while behind them came the YF-45 Supersonic strike bombers, attacking what military installations were present. 0400 - The first of a 3 division force stormed up the beaches, and launched out of their planes. They were detailed with a simple mission. Engage, suppress, secure. They were to move into the main urban areas and hold them.
Maelstrom Vortex
New Caledonia fell swiftly and easily into the hands of Aotearoans as it was.. well.. pretty much abandoned. The Dragonisians had gone there to do one thing: remove the Nordreich from the Australian region. That done, they'd left leaving only civil garrisons. As soon as the transports landed they were noted, soon, the people of New Caledonia were actually coming out to welcome the "liberators". The last several months and years had been hell, perhaps this would restore them some stability. In the meantime Dragonisian Defense Minister, Anthony Davis radioed Aotearoans, "You do realize you could have just asked?" LeVentNoir
Cowards? What gives you the idea they are cowards? The attack on Tahoe, for no reason, and trying to claim it was not them after their missile tech was revealed to be the junk it is and can actually be picked up on radar and other scans easily. Hiding under ground like moles for again no good reason, and the sea crawler fleet, this is a nation that can't stand up to a fight. LeVentNoir
With talks with New Cymru complete the remaining islands of Vanuatu have come back into Aotearoan Possession. *Classified* As soon as they could, Aotearoan Military Intelligence took this islands, and went straight to the old bunker. It was one of the monitoring stations from old Imperial Wellington, one of the ones needed to reactivate the SOSUS grid. After power had been reestablished, the computers were turned on, there is was, the sonar signals for most of the south pacific.
