1. This might have worked slightly better in the reverse order.
 2. Wow. Awesome interviews RV. I'm learning stuff I never knew before about CN history. Wise posts as always.
 3. I will change colors+resources and join. I'm sending you a pm in game
 4. While the OP does not technically or explicitly state the conditions for losing membership, it is indirectly implied by the statement "any nation that wears its AA is automatically considered a member and subject to its rules" that nations not wearing the FAIL AA are not considered members of FAIL. On the other hand, any nation who does not wear the FAIL AA that desires to become a member of FAIL can simply join by putting on the FAIL AA.
 5. News flash: FAIL's civil war has ended, as all rebelling and disobedient parties have left the alliance. The forces loyal to the Dog Emperor have been victorious. However, this unfortunately brings down the population of the membership to one. As a one-man alliance is not a legitimate alliance, FAIL is hereby temporarily disbanded for the duration that it has only one member. If another nation were to join FAIL, FAIL will return to its status as an alliance.
 6. o/ Zeppelin and congrats bassman! May your reign prosper and be as stable as Nemhauser's
 7. Good luck. I have posted it on my facebook.
 8.
I still don't understand why people decide they're going to quit, and then stick around for another 6 months rogueing. Isn't the point of quitting to, like, quit? Besides which, if your goal is to have fun I hardly see value in attacking people who deal with exactly this same thing on a daily basis. You'll fight unsurprised people and blend in as one of the many dozens who came before you. None of your actions will have any impact. End result will be uneventful for all. If you really wanted to have fun, you should've done something unexpected. Like declare on GPA and see how well they fight and how much NS of theirs you can drop in one go.
It's only fun to fight people who enjoy fighting rogues. That's probably why a lot of people rogue GOONS. Otherwise both the rogue and the people the rogue fights will end up unsatisfied.

Change your Alliance Affliation to "Federated Allied Independence League". 3. Change your nation team to Black. 4. Place "FAIL PoW" in your nation bio. You may remove this after 14 days. 5. 10. Very merciful terms. May I suggest a "6. Change your nation team to Purple, and send a trade offer to Franz Ferdinand." term?
 11. Shout out to zoomzoomzoom, umar, zerileous, and decker for actually coordinating in war!
 12. hi. (old cn+epicmafia buddies)

 13.
I find that doing random acts of kindness confuse people way more on CN (and thus is fun in it's own way) than anything else. Start giving away free tech and cash to random people. See what responses you get. Maybe post the best ones in a blog. Help someone defend themselves against someone else. Just a random person. They can be in an alliance war or not - who cares. Make it as official looking as possible by writing "defending (person's name)" in your war reason. When all your nukes are gone, move into non-aligned, don't buy any back but keep your MP and other war wonders and when some tech raider doesn't pay attention but just attacks (regardless what alliance he or she is from) give the person a fight to remember. It really will not take that long for someone to attack you - might even have all your slots full overnight. Then go on a "righteous" rampage against those who were fool enough to attack you and find out how long before they are begging to be let out of the war they started Maybe post the best begging in a blog. You could copy GOONS style - a make fun of their tears.
That's a good idea, similar to the Moldavi-doctrine-for-black idea, except mine was more about aiding those who are being raided, since it's unlikely your nation is in range of most nations getting raided. I'll add this to the OP.
I still think the imenent quitters AA is the best. Three nations like yours, with no care for the future - could wreck havoc. Your limited slots makes anything you may choose to do - limited. If you triple team someone, or rain aid down on someone it would make a difference. You can call the alliance IDGAF.
Will add to OP.
 14. I didn't mean copying it by letter. There are other ways of spying/getting information than joining an alliance. Also sardonic, the goal is not to be remembered, but to have fun. Either way, the roguing was done on an alliance (or set of alliances) that appreciates fighting them, which makes it more fun. (GOONS often fights unaligned nations, and this is effectively an unaligned nation fighting GOONS. All that changes is who declares the war.) It doesn't matter if the rogue gets forgotten, as there is no point trying to get remembered if the rogue is leaving. Hm jerdge that is a good suggestion. I'll add it into the OP. However to RP an opposite character will still require quite a bit of time that most players considering leaving won't want to stay for.
 15. Nordreich (for most active alliance) That was the alliance I was in for all of 2011
 16.
Join an alliance you don't like and then post your own version of "This week in ..."
This wins the thread. I will be trying something similar very soon.
 17.
Depends on how much your warchest is.
Probably enough to do anything you want to suggest
 18. So this year I made it a new year's resolution to quit Cybernations, as I've stayed with this game for too long and it's been the same events over and over again. After wondering for many days what sort of things I could do before I quit, I initially decided on the traditional rogue method that involves starting a war with someone you know, and then quitting after that war. However, after starting the war, the friend told me that he did not appreciate the war, and we peaced, because it's not fun to do something against a friend's will. So I tried discussing with another friend on what would be something else that could be fun to do, and we realized it would be fun to coup a vocal one-man alliance, as the addition of another person doubles the membership of the alliance, and thus no single person can be considered a majority. Basically, a coup "for the lulz" I had great respect for RV's in game character, so it was indeed fun watching his response for a few posts. However when that moment of fun faded away, I decided it was probably best to try roguing again, as I had money on my nation and it would be completely wasted if it just disappeared overnight via deletion. Simultaneously, I tried creating a blog to see what it would feel like making random-posts that comment on the game. I decided to pick the alliance whose ideas were the most similar to my course of action. It appeared that GOONS did most of their actions "for the lulz", which kinda fell in line with what I was doing, a coup then a war "for the lulz". However, before I send the first nuke in this war (at which point it is, in the short term, the point of no return), I wonder if there are more fun options to consider. I was a bit uncomfortable doing actions that made many of the people I've respected post their disapproval (although I know those are only in-character disapprovals)... So I'm wondering, do you guys have any other suggestions for fun-things-to-do-before-disappearing? like maybe trying to make a Moldavi doctrine for black or something and have raided black nations ask me for aid/reparations? (this is like a brainstorm for a 100-places-to-visit-before-you-die or 100-things-to-do-before-you-die post) (Also, don't suggest "send me all your tech", because there are more than enough people I am already planning on sending tech or money to that can fill my slots for longer than the number of days remaining.) I'm also considering playing the war in the most wasteful manner possible--such as selling infra to declare, then rebuying lost infra, land, and tech, along with sending air attacks against full AADNed air forces... but that's only pixels-related fun, just like any war, and will become pretty monotonous in the next few days. I can make a tentative list here. Future people who want some fun before leaving can feel free to try any of these, as I will add on to these as we brainstorm further in the thread:
Fun things to try before leaving 1. Coup a one-man alliance. 2. Start a blog 3. Start a Moldavi doctrine or something similar... like a reparations board for nations that get raided (XRCatD); Also declare wars in defense of them (White Chocolate) 4. Start a very wasteful war 5. Join an alliance you don't like and then post your own version of "This week in ..." (supercoolyellow) 6. Become an opposite character in game and on OWF (jerdge) 7. Join FAN and announce all their treaties (ShouAS) 8. Random Aid packages, then post a blog with PMs (White Chocolate) 9. Make an alliance of Imminent quitters and do serious damage (Freddy)
19.
You are not an alliance, you are a rogue and not a very amusing one at that, not being able to come up with your own rogue vehicle as you apparently aren't and having to resort to stealing someone else's as you have done.
The Dog Empire would appreciate it if you could give the new FAIL a chance, as it did not plan on making the DoW an event correlated with the coup. The two events were caused by independent reasonings and advice that both appeared on the Dog Emperor's desk on the same day.
You mad ?
Traditionally it is embarrassing for an alliance to ask an ally to aid in dealing with what the alliance considers a rogue. However, FAIL welcomes this new participant in the war, and is willing to proportionally distribute its wrath in the ratio of enemy nations that FAIL is engaged against.
 20. Hm in that case I'd argue that Vox Populi was not a successful alliance in the normal sense. Vox Populi was just an AA that people who chose to oppose NPO joined in. It was an alliance, but instead of existing to perpetuate the wellbeing of its members, it existed for a direct purpose/cause--it was there to destroy something else. Thus I believe that's part of the reason Vox Populi didn't last. Once the purpose was achieved or people became bored of the purpose, people left. Also, I wasn't trying to correlate more (or less) members with better (or worse) alliances. By the first value, I meant how much the alliance values holding on to each individual member, not how much the alliance tries to recruit. For example, if a nation engages in an unsuccessful tech raid, the nation will probably be severely court marshalled by the alliance (and can be made to pay the reps), but a successful alliance will probably not let the nation be on its own in dealing with the raid. I'm not sure what you're trying to say with regards to TDO. What were they aiming to do, that made them hover at 100-200 members? I guess another interesting thing to ponder about is, how do we measure how successful an alliance is? I realized my post may have been circular when I tried to define measuring success as measuring how well the alliances prioritized these values... but then we can also try looking at the consequences of alliances that prioritize these well. I think a visible result/consequence of a successful alliance is that its core community lasted and remained together through time. So in a way the oldest surviving alliances today may be the most successful ones, although any alliance that is surviving today also has potential to be the most "successful". So this is the measuring tool I'm using. I guess if people use a different measuring too, such as whether or not an alliance achieves its short-term purposes, then Vox Populi might appear to be more successful than what I'm describing with my way of measuring.
 21. darnit i wish i can find you on IRC >.>

 22. hey i suddenly remembered you from CNRP from a long time ago; how's it going?

 23.
Ugh. It really isn't too difficult to do your own thing when you're rogue. I'm sure we recognise RV though. So whats the plan? Will you end up performing for us at the mercy board, or will you just end up deleting?
GOONS representatives can reach us at #FAIL or our forums if they wish to surrender or negotiate peace.
when you use a firstly there is usually a secondly shortly behind it not just an in addition. finish your first thought before starting a second one. Also, no one cares still. they just love goons enough to show their support for us no matter how silly the declaration.
[ooc]Hmm usually "firstly" and "secondly" sounds dumb if they're used with each other, because there's no point implying there's a list if there's only two items.[/ooc]
 24.
Just because you made a DoE and a DoW doesn't mean we at GONOS recognize you as an alliance or as anything other than a rogue. As much as you like to trot around here with your pomp and circumstance and pretend like you are important. You aren't and no one really cares.
Firstly, realize that if GOONS does not recognize FAIL as an alliance, it can be considered another Casus Belli (although a weak one) for war. In this case, GOONS will be met with the full wrath of FAIL being brought down upon its enemies. In addition, be careful when using the term "care" regarding our FAIL crusade. Currently there are at least 3 people that "care": the Dog Emperor, you, and everyone else who posted in this thread (where "everyone" is singular). This is due to two reasons, either of which is enough to indicate "care": 1- Making a post in this announcement 2- Being a participant in this alliance war (and therefore defending one's post with one's pixels)
