For those who don't know what this means, it means that debate on DADT (which is now a stand-alone bill) can move on to a final vote which will be happening in about an hour and a half.

Plenty of people care.

McCain swiftly went from a respected senator to an ignorant, pandering little !@#$%*, all in the past 3 years. For Dadt repeal, seems like most of the mil leadership supports the bill, so why the hell not.

Are you saying senators aren't !@#$%*?

I love the Leftists that swarm this board.

Most Republican voters support the repeal. Most independents support repeal. Most Democrats support repeal. This is only a partisan issue in Congress. For the rest of us, repeal is believed to be the right thing by the majority.

But some of the military leadership doesn't and a substantial minority of the military doesn't, with higher proportions in that units that actually have to fight. Maybe we should slow down-

Oh, who the hell am I kidding. Anyone who wants to do something like debate is a pandering little !@#$%*, right? McCain is still net favorable, though

While I support the repeal, because the leadership does.

I think this was a pointless endeavor at the current moment when the government doesn't have a budget in-place and might shut down. There are more important things to do right now.

6 GOP Senators and a handful of GOP Congressmen, really?

A handful of Democrats in the Congress and 1 Democrat Senator abstained.

Partisan, really?

I don't think at this very moment this was the right issue to be tackling or dealing with.

If it is an issue that is unjustly harming citizens it is an issue that should be tackled. The fact that its so straight forward simply makes it easier. A court already ruled the law unconstitutional it was gone one way or another.
