Update: Here Sheepy Sheepy Sheepy...

I was at a bar with some mates yesterday between shifts. Somehow we got on the topic of eating various animals. Someone mentioned cooking duck is how I remember the conversation starting. One of my friends in the course of the conversation "jokingly" mentioned buying a live sheep to prepare and eat. Well, it turns out that this was not, in fact, a joke. They started looking up places to buy livestock, getting price quotes, the whole deal. This particular friend of mine actually would have gone tonight to get it, but he could not get anyone to cover his shift, so someone else is getting it for him. I think the plan is to get it tonight, hang it up for however long (by it's hind hooves), bleed it, then prepare (not sure how). The weather is supposed to be bad here on the east coast for the next day or two so I'm not sure if it's actually going to go off, but I am certainly looking forward to this whole thing. I'm not usually for this kind of thing (it sounds a bit Sarah Palin for my taste), but I'm a little giddy. Should be interesting.

Thats disgusting. You should be ashamed

I guess the cultures of North African, the Middle East and Mediterranean must be disgusting considering lamb is eaten quite frequently. Did you eat meat tonight WANA? If so, you are disgusting and should be ashamed.

Also, lol@ Pansy :P

Because they're interested in learning how to do something for themselves (in this case, how to prepare their own food) they should be ashamed? You do realize they will not be preparing the sheep in any method that is unusual. I fail to see what is disgusting about it, unless of course learning a little self-reliance in this day and age is to be considered a crippling personality flaw.

As long as it doesn't die inhumanely.

Like I said, I'm not really sure about the process, since I won't be involved (unless maybe as a spectator). And for it being a humane death, I don't really know how you can kill an animal "humanely" other than not torturing it (and I'm pretty sure that will not be happening).

As for being ashamed, I don't know why I should be. Elaborate...

A shame. Lamb is best after you've waterboarded it a couple of times.

We have a pretty wicked snowstorm that's supposed to turn to ice, so I'm not even sure this is still happening :(. One can hope though.

Eh, if you have to wait, instead of lamb you'll be eating mutton. It's all good, it's all tasty.
