Project Vanguard

The PLA and PLAAF have recently faced shortfalls in the latest technology, this had been necessary to build a world class air force and navy. Now that these aspects of the UFE army are secure, the time has come to re-equip the land forces, many of whom have seen extensive combat actions overseas. Project Vanguard shall improve equipment in ways following extensive talking with soldiers in the UFEs land wars.

Vehicles Juggernaut II project shall increase the Juggernaut's electronic warfare and sensor capabilities, increases in these capabilities and computing power shall be matched by upgrades to software of the active defense systems and projectile interception units aboard the juggernaut. Modular missile systems shall be designed as components to further augment the Juggernaut II's capability. The MK-28 and Sino EFVs shall receive a similar upgrade to its system, further it shall have a lighter weight gun turret design built for it.

NLOS Launchers Non Line of Site Missile Launcher Gen II is beginning test phases, the estimated capability of the new weapon extends its attack range to 60 kilometers. Further it is increased in its counter-counter measures and accuracy is increased by 2 meters according to software. New missile systems and launch computers are backwards compatible with software upgrades in debugging.

UGV Capability UGV capability is estimated to play an increasing role in warfare. Development of light weight UGV systems based on the THOR weapons platform have been tested on small scale, an improved version of this weapons platform on wheeled and tracked UGVs have entered low field trials.

Increased C4 ISR Security UAV/ Satellite imaging, networked targeting, and secure communications play a key role in battle field operations, this technology shall be further improved.

Testing against NBCE: Although built in to all UFE systems, protection against nuclear, biological, chemical, and electro magnetic attack will receive review during the process. New materials will also be exposed to extreme hits in case of encountering thermobaric weapons.
Passing over the Timuridian Exclusive Economic Zone off the Coast of Western Pakistan, a large convoy of both combat and support aircraft, including transports, refueling aircraft, and AWACS roared south until reaching international airspace. At that point the aircraft quickly turned east towards Malay Peninsula, combat aircraft, most of them stealth, flew in a diamond formation, protecting the flanks of all the support aircraft. Elements of the Royal Timuridian Army's Sixth Brigade, as well as vehicles from the 7th Armored Battalion, and a Expeditionary Task Force Headquarters group.

The Timuridian Coast Guard and Merchant Marine were also activated, and had sent close to two thousand personnel with the Royal Timuridian Army, and most of its trained naval personnel were also flown out as well.

The United Federation of the East would gladly sell the Pacific Wolf Carrier recently decommissioned to the Burytia for $500 million. We shall begin refitting it with proper language changes as well as uninstall our encryption equipment to make room for yours. The ship is being moved to Tianjin for transfer into your custody.

The UFE will liscense all non-international developed technology for the warships purchased by Timuridan to them.

We thank the UFE for their licensing of our vessels' munitions.

We were also wondering about a rumored "missile truck" program that might be available as a modification to our "Tempest" Strategic Bombers.

Highly Classified

The Ryukyu Islands proving ground number 7, was one of the Islands that had been quarantined by the UFE to any commercial or foreign traffic. Home to a large new aerospace testing ground, this evening it was to test a new concept weapon that the PLAAF had kept under the highest classification as part of its ongoing program to develop weapon systems for its new doctrine of "Global Options".

A black craft was taxing on the runway. The advanced new plane was a operational wave rider platform based off of the M-51 wave rider cruise missile, however this much larger craft was capable of carrying strike packages and had a significantly larger engine capable of near unlimited global range from bases within the UFE.

Testing for the planes engine systems on the ground would begin along with a loading of the 12 M-51s for test firing on the maiden flight of the new attack system.

Additionally the Hydra II has begun testing phases for new "weather tracker" software. The software system is capable of interpreting satellite real time air movement imaging and doppler radar imagery to rapidly guide a high speed surface to air and air to air missile barrage en-masse to targets. Further terminal IR guidance along with software guidance is being developed for a new line of missiles.

Another convoy of Strategic Airlift Aircraft, including the largest (and newest) in the Timuridian air fleet, the "Atlas" Large Strategic Airlifter, flew east again from Kandahar, a further allocation of units had been ordered to Singapore. These included elements of the 1st Light Infantry Brigade, including the 2nd Afghan Light Infantry Battalion, a unit that had been a veteran of the Communist Australian insurgency. The 1st Brigade also had the Afghan Commando Battalion attached, along with a new unit, named the "Bushmasters", which were allowed their own plane, and overseen by a group of "Samael" Special Operations personnel.

Project Global Lance:

At the Ryukyu Proving Grounds the black craft took off from the runway ascending into the sky above. The unit for its maiden flight was testing a new high powered scramjet engine which would propel it to near the edge of the atmosphere. This would be the first flight of the engine system which was to be used on several new delivery vehicles.

The bomber aircraft would be one of several craft in contention for providing a next generation strategic bomber capability. Testing would begin once the flight entered into the upper atmosphere. Additionally a second missile, a new missile prototype would also be prepared to launch along the same path route which was across the Pacific to Fort Beihai. Along this line were multiple advanced radar command ships which would provide maximum tracking of the units.

Papers Please Act

The United Federation of the East has issued a national RFID card act in order to increase public safety and decrease the vulnerability to the violent tendencies of extremists. The People's Commissariat of Investigative Affairs will be overseeing the project which will require all citizens and legal residence of the UFE to give their biometric data to the PCIA. The RFID cards are now required to obtain housing and employment in the United Federation of the East. For foreigners to obtain cards, they must submit their credentials either diplomatic or civilian to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs PCIA liaison office. Foreigners from nations on a watch list which will not be released publically will require intense counter intelligence background checks. Further a valid proper visa is required to obtain a card. Tourist visas are unacceptable.

For citizens and residents to obtain a RFID card, they must submit a form along with proper documentation to prove the honesty of their information, this includes: all previous military or police training, government social welfare program ID numbers, criminal record, record of birth, record of immigration (if applicable), all past political affiliations, all past residencies (with verification contacts from home born citizens at past two addresses), academic records, and bank statements. Lying on any of these forms is punishable from community service to 20 years in prison depending on severity of the crime.

Squatters are advised that a period of clemency will be offered to register unauthorized residences with the Internal Housing Bureau PCIA Liaison Office and move to public housing.

Further all cargo entering UFE Ports (air, land, and sea) must be properly sealed and have a port authority verified cargo RFID chip from a trusted destination or must submit to inspection 12 nautical miles from the beginning of our territorial waters. This does not apply to vessels which remain outside of 50 nautical miles of our shore line but are passing through our territorial waters or EEZ.

Secure Transmission to UFE

"We thank you for your assistance in procuring this Joint Support Ship, and will be dispatching a crew via air transport to pick up the ship. We look forward to the procurement of the Storm-class (Mistral-class) very fondly, and hope that work is progressing smoothly on the ship.

Our naval personnel have been training on simulators that have been able to give them a feel of handling the Joint Support Ship. We have also built temporary mock-ups for load masters to increase their knowledge for the roll-on, roll-off systems.

If you don't mind, we'd like to sail the Joint Support Ship to Singapore, where we may outfit it with our electronic systems that are being shipped in via air transport and bulk cargo transport. We again thank you for procuring this system very fast, and would actually like to inquire about purchasing the construction of another Joint Support Ship, and whether it would be possible or not."

Classified

As soon as news came from the United Federation of the East that the Joint Support Ship had been successfully built, two "Skymaster" Strategic Airlifters quietly took off from RTAFB Kandahar, and made the trip across across Cochin airspace to the United Federation of the East. The two aircraft, of course, radioed ahead with their course and heading to Cochin's air defense command. Similarly, three "Atlas" Large Strategic Airlifters would take off from the Turkmenbasy Airport, and head for Singapore, with a large load of electronic systems and sensitive gear. A bulk cargo ship, carrying some of the larger components of the sensing systems for the ship, would leave the old Marscurian Pakistan bulk cargo port of Gwadar, also bound for the same destination.

As soon as the naval personnel landed in the UFE, they would immediately hire transit to the newest ship of the Timuridian Naval forces, the Joint Support Ship RTNS Replenish. When they would arrive at the ships' location, the commander of the receiving crew, Commander Johan Pollock, would give a speech to the UFE government and its shipyards for the Timuridian government, to thank them for helping them procure the vessel.
"We thank the government and its shipyards from the bottom of our hearts for the procurement of this vessel for the slowly growing Timuridian Naval Defense Force. The taking on of this order by the United Federation of the East is greatly appreciated by the Timuridian Navy and the people in the country we serve. This vessel will provide the Timuridian Navy with yet another flexible platform to protect its shoreline, and give further sustaining capabilities when Timuridian forces are deployed abroad.

It is with great honor that we take command of this vessel, and we are honored to crew a vessel built by the renowned shipyards of the Far East. This is yet another example of the friendship and relationship the Timuridian and Federation governments share with one another. Practicality is one thing the Timuridian people, and its government want, and we are pleased to say, practicality, is what we have here."
While the statement was read, the majority of the crew would clamber aboard the vessel, already having acclimated themselves to its command and control systems, and would begin preparing the ship for sea. Within a couple short hours, the RTNS Replenish would depart the UFE, and make course for Singapore, where a burgeoning crew of maritime outfitters and more naval personnel were waiting for its arrival.

Project Notes for Global Lance:

Testing engines of manned near space wave rider system has proven to be an initial success. Unit reached top speed of Mach 5 over the Pacific Ocean, traveling to target area in Alaska. Estimated top safe speed is assumed to be around Mach 6.2 when operating a near space altitudes.

ER-M-51 firing has proven problematic, further calibration to software must be done to improve the efficacy of hypersonic flight deployment.

RCS shaping has produced a bomber difficult to track, estimated detection range combined with velocity is estimated to make it difficult for any nation to scramble fighters to engage before the bomber has delivered its payload.

UAV-1 Is ready for testing at Ryukyu Proving Grounds, will test later this week. Estimated range of target to test, 10, 000 nmi+. UAV-1 Velocity Goal: Mach 16. trajectory of flight plan: Over Australia through the Southern Atlantic for recovery by ship out of Maghreb FOB.

UAV-1 would be equipped for its flight with several testing systems aboard. The first of these was a new prototype disposable jamming system designed not only against longer range mono-static warfare but to conduct cyber warfare against AESA and other phased array radar systems which had more capability against cruise missiles such as UAV-1. This would increase the lethality of each warhead by a large factor. Integral to this technology were micro chips which could be built on the cheap because they weren't designed to last. Although extremely fast, long term endurance was not a factor as each would be equipped for a one way flight and only would activate once into kill range. They would only need to work for at most a half an hour before the warhead would impact a target. Additionally several dummies and counter measures such as chaff were built in to further confuse missiles sent to intercept it. Second was a directional blast technology. Because the units ultimately would be extremely expensive, they would need to be one shot kill against hardened targets like nuclear missile silos, submarine pens, aircraft carriers, etc. The effect would need to wipe out the target in one.

UAV-1s range would be equal to that if successful of a intercontinental ballistic missile without looking like an intercontinental ballistic missile on sensors thus providing a first strike global option for the United Federation of the East simply unmatched by any one else in both safety and lethality.

UAV-1s launch was spectacular as it took off over the Pacific Ocean, the jet moved to reach Mach 10 within minutes before accelerating further to Mach 16 at the edge of the atmosphere, within ten minutes it has moved over antarctica before at about thirty minutes descending over into the South Atlantic where several radar assets attempted to get a lock on and fire missile intercepts. Jamming was effective on the first three lock ons before the last got a lock firing an S500 to engage the package, however it was unable to hit the target splashed down into the sea, although unfortunately the package was 1.2 kilometers off from it intended target zone. Seconds before impacting into the sea, the units warhead self destructed by not before transmitting its entire encrypted flash drive contents back to HQ along secure transmission lines.

At Kiaoshiung Naval Yard four container ships were loaded with Club K commercial container missile pods along with crates as suites for cyberwarfare, electronic intelligence and countermeasures, additionally four pre-assembled AESA radar systems were also kept in crates for the container convoy. Five S-500 tow packages were also loaded on the transports on the lower deck of each of the ships. The second plain clothed Imperator Guard unit would also be departing the convoy, six hundred in total of the UFEs best assassins, special operations soldiers, and combat engineers would also be deployed four this mission.
