GLP-USA war movements

OOC: We need a list of who is fighting who. I am already confused.
----------------
IC:

All over GLP:

It was war, and now GLP military must be prepared to engage it. They learned their harsh lesson from the previous disastrous war, lack of preparation, communication, and coordination. They were not going to repeat the mistakes again.

Their plan was to camp all of their heavy hitters, anti-aircraft/bomb/rocket/missile vehicles and turrets on the borders of their country. Meanwhile, their blitz force that was hiding underneath Michigan consisted of faster but lighter armed and armored units. The blitz force would strike as soon as USA gathers enough military forces and resources in Michigan and attacks. The blitz force will attempt to press them into GLP's defending forces or the shorelines.

After USA's invasion force is pulverized, then parts of GLP's defending force will join the blitz against USA.

Due to the outbreak of open conflict involving our ally, the United States of America, we announce our full support. The Dominican Republic is now at a state of war with the GLP. We ask of our ally permission for Dominican ground and air forces to enter U.S. boundaries in deployment for combat zones.

Since Disparu plans on attacking us just because there were seven TUO members screwing around, we need to readjust our plans:

The Reich will remain neutral in this war for now, though border security will be tightened, and the Military will be on heightened alert. Any combat aircraft from any of the belligerents will be fired upon and a declaration of war will be issued against said belligerent.

Based on satellite images and visual reports from border guards, the GLP was redistributing its soldiers along the border, obviously anticipating an attack from Disparu. Which was quite interesting, considering that the press conference never specifically mentioned that they were planning on helping the United States militarily. Nevertheless, the Disparuean Forces increased their presence along the border to provide the first line of defence in the event of a GLP invasion of Disparu. Approximately 20,000 soldiers and 1,200 tanks were prepared and distributed across the border. There was an increased presence near Ottawa, since that particular city provided a direct route to Montreal, Trois-Rivières and Quebec City. All of these soldiers were told to shoot at enemy forces coming from the other side of the border.

Likewise, air bases, Aurasphere stations and launch facilities near the border were told to prepare themselves for a possible invasion, or an offensive strike against the GLP. Meanwhile, military ports along the St. Lawrence River were ordered to arm ships that would be needed for an attack.

The Ministry of Science and Technology's various weapons factories also increased their production of firearms, field gadgets, tanks and the notorious UAVs that were used earlier against TUO forces.

Above all of the border area, all of GLP's F-29B Eagle (stealth fighter) and F-30C Eagle (stealth UAV/automated fighter) were patrolling the sky, anticipating a surprise attack at anytime. On all of the guarded borders, long hills with trenches in the middle were being constructed to give GLP soldiers the high ground while still being protected, bunkers being built out of giant lego-like nickel-steel blocks snapped/bolted together, artillery guns being put in place, tanks receiving a last-minute upgrade consisting of front/top/side/rear armor thickening and were sandbagged, land mines, giant bear traps, and barbed wires being laid, HV-57B AAMBRVs (Anti-Aircraft, Missile, Bomb, and Rocket Vehicle) were being attached to 20mm AAMBRV turrets, soldiers mounting and attaching bullet-proof glass to their weapons, and other preparations.

Meanwhile, the blitz force underneath Michigan continued to build up.

In the event of a possible attack, the Government of Disparu decided to evacuate everyone living near or within the lockdown zone. The evacuees were securely transported to the nearest towns and cities that was outside of the lockdown zone. Meanwhile, in response to some of the movements seen on the other side of the border, the Disparuean soldiers began to construct barriers to give time to other Disparuean soldiers. Sandbags and barb wires were set up, antitank mines were randomly planted along the border, and antitank rails were placed behind where most of the forces were stationed. Anti-aircraft missiles lazily tracked visible aircraft that strayed too close to the border.

Meanwhile, the Government of Disparu would send requests to the governments of J Andres and the Republic of York, asking for permission to go through their territories en route to the United States.

Tahoe Air Command has requested permission from the United States to transport troops and planes through their territory to the border of the GLP.

Granted so long as Tahoan officials agree to withdraw with American Ground forces at the end of the allotted occupation period. We will be letting the people of the GLP determine their future once this is over, our only enemy is their current government and the terrorists which have infiltrated it.

All Dominican troops have been cleared to land in Flint MI and take 75 North to the combat areas.

Any attempts by GLP forces to even attempt to get into MI through the various land choke points would be met by American positions in over 1 years worth of fortification construction along with extremely heavy artillery support. Attempting to use a blitz strategy against a fortification zone that could only be comparable to the French Maginot line on crack would result in massive casualties for the aggressor and a modest casualty rate for the defender.

Though the U.S. had not launched its offensive yet.. forces in the area were already being complimented and were building and the great lakes were under green-water naval patrol and patrol by a combination of drones and A-10s with the appropriate strike packages consisting of cluster bombs and anti-ship missiles. Technological advantage can only negate so much.

20 Battalions of entrenched artillery, rocket, self propelled, towed, rifled, and standard.. basically a mix of all sorts.... began to shell everything within 20 miles of the border of GLP with the United States in preparation for operation "Liberate the Provinces." The density of the artillery is one of the largest seen in the history of planet Bob. The Americans have been quite serious with their preparations.

ooc: Oh, no, if you agreed to be occupied they'll just start moving in. Wiping that, sorry.

ic:

The U.S. military began to move forward with great caution into the GLP. 50,000 stayed behind manning the defenses, including the 20,000 men of the artillery battalions. The 100,000 moving forward were a mix of armor and infantry. They spread out throughout the country and the CIA with them. They began counter-intelligence operations to attempt to isolate and round up any remaining TUO operatives.

GLP army officials who assisted in the round up and capture of the TUO personnel were offered awards and were told they could keep their positions when the new GLP government was formed up.

U.S. officials began to identify areas of interest for voting centers to begin preparations for upcoming elections.

OOC: Check the other thread to see what the GLP representative said. He stated that GLP Legislative will agree to the occupation IF you leave the military, technology development, and electronic warfare departments alone.

15 C-130 aircraft of the Arctican Air Force approached the eastern seaboard. They radioed the nearest American airbase and requested permission to land.

---

The ship carrying the remainder of Arctican vehicles had by now rounded the Cape and was about halfway up the Southern Atlantic. Two men on watch joked, "Let's hope the war isn't over by the time we get this stuff to them."

A message was wired to USA, warning of them two problems expected up ahead:

1: Radiation and heavy toxic metal contamination had affected about 10% of the land of the eastern region and about 20% of the drinkable water. GLP military had been ordered to ignore the problem to concentrate on the defense of GLP from an invasion and let the radiation protection suit equipped civilians deal with the problem.

2: Mass crop failures are occurring in the western region due to a weaponized killer fungi engineered by the now non-existent TUO. Burning or spraying fungicide on the infected crops turned out to be a bad idea, it only encouraged the fungus to emit billions of chemical, fire, and weather resistant spores which sped up the spread of infection. Each time the wind blows (which often does), it spread the spores even more. GLP's economy is expected to crash into a depression and severe food and other products that depend on the crops shortage is expected.
ooc: No, long as the government prosecutes and secures them they'll let the locals handle it. However, they'll offer to hold the TUO perps in a super-max prison if convicted if the new government wishes.

ic:

The U.S. took heed of the warning. They put out an international request to their allies to send in radiation cleanup teams and bio-hazard units to combat the spread of the fungus. They knew if they were going to stabilize the region they had to get the people on their side. The sword had been wielded, now was time to bring in the reed.

The U.S. began to mobilize its emergency food reserves via the red cross and have them sent up to GLP agricultural regions stricken by the fungus.

The Articans got clearance and so did the ships. When they arrived, they were given standby orders and told that the Military was pretty much in a holding pattern so long as the Great Lakes Provinces remained in compliance with the terms put forward.
The commander of the small Arctican force informed the Americans that the C-130s were available for transport missions at the Americans' convenience. As agreed, 1/3 of leased equipment was operated by Arctican forces and the rest by Americans. The Arcticans would grant strategic and tactical command to the Americans, and were not to disobey their orders unless they involved trespassing into the territory of or violating the sovereignty of any neutral nations.

All of GLP's military units begin to retreat back to their bases, not knowing what will happen next. The Department of Defense ordered most of the soldiers to assist in the radiation cleanup if they have sufficient radiation protection suits available. However, if any dummies attempt to dissolve the military, walked up to each base and said, "Hi guys, your military is no more, everyone leave your bases please.", then the consequence would be horrendous.

No such thing would happen. Given all the U.S. troops had been forced to use WMD gear in the GLP/Coruscanta war.. there were plenty of HAZMAT suits to go around. And thus.. the troops that had been about to shoot each other... found each other filtering, canning, and sealing radioactively contaminated materials side by side. Such a strange war it was.
