hawk11
You have a glaring continuity issue within your RP. Tomorrow is the one-month anniversary of your Mainland for the Mainlanders doctrine; yet you are cutting a deal to give Sumeragi a sizeable chunk of mainland Asian territory. What happened? By my calculations you should be wiping her off the face of the planet now.
Maelstrom Vortex
This is an experiment by the Empire to see if it can get the Yamato to finally settle down. If it can then this would be the only exception and that is because Yamato has had historic ties on the mainland before, the people of Japan have lived in Asia and vice-versa. They're still Asian, which at least does not qualify them as a power foreign to Asia.. however they are an island state. Push your arguments in the IC thread.. if they can't defend themselves from the argument, the Empire might be forced to rescind its policy of support. hawk11
Edit: simaltenious posts. Also curse internet explorer, I lost the original post. This is an experiment by the Empire to see if it can get the Yamato to finally settle down. Warning: History repeating itself. I'm not going to Godwin this thread though. Maelstrom Vortex
I get your intent. I had somewhat forgotten the declaration.. which wouldn't have been by the state. At the same time there's a logic to why the DE is somewhat going against its own policy in this specific instance. Sumeragi
Slight reminder: Yamato now has Kankokujins, the Korean branch of the Kyokujitsujins. By Mael's definition, Yamato is no longer just an island stat, but a mainlander state with island holdings.
hawk11
Bull. Your capitol is on an island, you came from an island, you expanded onto the mainland. You're an island nation with land holdings.

hawk11
Don't forget that Mael originally was on an island, but since has gotten mainland holdings. Don't forget Mael moved his capitol and controls an extremely huge portion of Asia. The comparison is void.
Maelstrom Vortex
By DE's interpretation, which is the most important aspect of this RP, it shares the view of many that Yamato is still an island state unless it brings the center of its SOI on the mainland. In other words, it would take a movement of the capitol center on a permanent basis to mainland Asia. Maelstrom Vortex
Well then, she's a main lander and shall be treated as such.
hawk11
That was a blatant knee-jerk reaction by her in order to get these results.

Sumeragi
Or perhaps I always had my IG capital over Harbin? I was planning to move to the mainland one day, since having a port capital is not my style
Maelstrom Vortex
I can see this argument from both perspectives.. and as typical. I'm not taking sides. *Yawn*
