“This should block all naval forces from leaving or entering the West Sea. Activate the Yari anti-ship missiles especially in Okinawa and Miyako.”

OOC: West Sea is the East China Sea, and Yari is the Harpoon missile.

The Hansa has expressed mailed several boxes of pamphlets to the government of Yamoto, titled "Why it is a bad idea to close your territorial waters", a story by witnesses to the destruction of the DKT.

So Yamato is is doing what everyone else is doing. Why is this news? We don't know why a nation would want to close all external economic shipping from their waters, but that is the current trend these days.

OOC: srsly, anyone that is going to get up in arms because sumer made an EEZ really is a troll :v:

Obviously we have learned: We're restricting only naval ships, which all nations do.

We hope this restriction does not apply to the Korea Strait between the island of Tsushima and Pusan of South Korea? A Royal Cochin Naval Task Force is scheduled to transit through the Korea Strait to the Yellow Sea region in the forthcoming days.

We would like to have prior notification if this particular stretch of water is out of bounds to naval vessels.

The Korean Strait is under the jurisdiction of Korea, which has a stricter policy than ours. Nevertheless, given how Cochin had been kind enough to send our exiled people back to us, we shall allow the fleet to pass through our side of the Tsushima strait, the area between Tsushima and Kyushu. Please send the list of ships and schedule for processing.

OOC: Mercy has Tsushima, for your information.

For clarification on Korean maritime policy, our waters are open at all times to any merchant or otherwise commercial vessel (privately or publicly owned) provided that they report their course, heading, and maintain that course (with a small corridor of freedom) during their voyage through Korean waters. Non-allied military vessels (with the strict exception of those of the Hanseatic Commonwealth as they, like their predecessors of Neo Japan they are able to transport small numbers of military naval vessels through the Strait on the Japanese side of Tsushima again in a very tight corridor) are prohibited from entering Korean waters and will be fired on after being hailed to turn around.

Furthermore, roughly half of the Tsushima Strait is under the control of Korea and thus is subject to the same laws.

Are not the two saying the same thing? Please clarify the exception part.

The Elective Dictatorship of Palintine expresses concern over this policy, specifically how close your "exclusive economic zone" extends towards Taiwan and our own coastline. While we may not have the most prominent navy in the world, we still have one, and it maintains routine patrols. I trust you will allow an exception for us.

We respect the territorial integrity of Palintine, and will make certain that there is no conflict between us. In fact, we offer to cooperate in cracking down on militarism.

Does Palintine have a similar policy? We notice that the Taiwan Strait seems to be opened to military ships. We worry of potential problems stemming from the area.

The Elective Dictatorship of Palintine has the same water policy as you and almost every other nation on earth: no military ships in our water. Between our nation and your nation, the Taiwain Strait has effectively been sealed off to foreign military vessels. Palintine has review its current "territorial waters" claims and noticed disputed territory.

Black Line: Palintine's patrol border.

We recommend the "disputed" waters be jointly patrolled.
