"The Swedish Ministry of International Affairs and Trade acknowledge the existence of a Franco-Swedish Mutual Defense Pact, which was agreed upon in the last calendar month. We look forward to continuing and improving our relationship with France, in these times of darkness and global conflict."

To: All French Commanders on Land, Sea, and Air
From: The Estates-General, Elisabeth Courtois, presiding
Subject: Defcon I

Commanders,

The government is prepared to move to Defcon I in the wake of recent mobilizations across the world. The Garde Imperial, consisting of 410,000 soldiers is preparing to march south as we speak to take up positions in Bordeaux, Toulouse, Dijon, and other points south and wait for other specific orders. In addition, Sixteen (16) Armor Divisions, connected with the Garde Imperial will follow south along these routes to regions near the Pyrenees and the cities mentioned at the beginning of this communique. All air commanders should begin preparation to get their squadrons running at war-proficiency and the French navy, docked at Brest, La Rochelle, and other points in the Mediterranean should begin to sail out of port to wait for further orders of their next objective.

With the world falling apart, this is a dangerous time for all of us, France included in the great machinations of global affairs. However, we must continue to look onwards in the hope that through dismal despair, there is always a patch of light. Gentlemen and Ladies, this...will be our patch of light.

Sincerely,

Elisabeth Courtois

At the estate Jesse was getting angrier by the second, "Can someone please tell me what the $%&@ is going on?!"

Renard answered, "France has gone into Defcon 1, it seems that the suitcase used to arm the nukes of France is also missing. Until we get it back France will be unable to launch any of our nukes if we are attacked."

Jesse was pissed now, "I can bet a million bucks I know who took it as well. Pack your guns guys. We need to get to those islands, rescue Paul, and take out Bridgette before it is too late."

(OOC: We need to figure out how they are going to be able to attack her.)

These orders were promptly executed by the French Military. While the infrastructure hadn't yet been fully implemented yet to have a 1 week deployment time nation wide.. they did begin to make the deployments with a plan in place to have fully deployed and be at full strength in approximately 3 weeks.

Then, abruptly, the orders were nullified. Despite this, the Generals continued to escalate to the desired preparedness level in the event a later mobilization was ordered. They would have the forces standing and ready to deploy in one week.. if summonsed again within one month. The Generals put in place a draw down plan that would take over 6 months to implement to return them to full peace. This was to prevent them from being caught off guard. The rough standing of DEFCON was now currently at 2 for the broader French military.
