  1. good work, seriously, the old topic was at times a bit out dated. As for all this "correct format" crap, it probably takes you longer to chide somebody over it then to actually figure it out, and that way you don't look like a total elitist, just my 2ยข
  2. Such a good-looking treaty between two of Echelon's good friends, I wish you both the best Its saddening to see people talk so negatively about NADC. From my experiences from the last year, I cannot point out a more loyal and honorable alliance then NADC, they are the best friends I think anybody could ever have. For those of you who naysay, to you I'd say things similar to those which Dick Cheney once said to Patrick Leahy. (even though I'm a democrat and despise Cheney)
  3. May the next two years be even greater then the past two years and congrats to Augusta much deserved.
  4. Very Good Stuff, a good treaty for two very good alliances.
  5. So your from an alliance that for 2/3 of its existence fought for the side of "evil" (or what you claim is now evil), even went as far as forcing the disbandment of one of the greatest, if not the greatest alliances of the blue team, and based off a brief history you feel your entitled to the high road. I have nothing against them, well other then a few things, like any alliance, they have their strong points and their weaker points, but unlike you, I'm not petty or sad, and therefore I elect not to be bothered by them. Hey, here's a thought, I (we) couldn't care less what you think. Your entitled to your opinions, regardless of how stupid they may be.The work of Echelon stands on its own, don't like that, too <expletive> bad, we don't care. In the past there were individuals like you who would have liked to seen the "existence of our alliance" brought to an end, and yet we stand before you today. The one thing that we can agree on is to wish AiD good luck, they're a great bunch, but they don't need luck, they're naturally good, they can create their own luck. Regards, memoryproblems
  6. Excellent stuff. Nothing better then seeing old friends staying friends in a new world. Talking with you is like talking with a dinner table, I have no interest doing so, and I don't see why any sane person would. Nice try though, as completely biased and untruthful as your claim may be, it gave me a hearty chuckle.
  7. Saving face is the cool thing to do now. Release them under your own terms since they were already circulating faster then AIDS at a prostitute convention?
  8. All of Echelon's treaties were kinda dissolved, on account of surrender terms and everything. So we must resign, etc.
  9. I'm kinda surprised you would say that, we weren't exactly the nicest on your front, and I will admit that I certainly wasn't the most honorable in the handling of the situation.
  10. I could go into further detail of what we were and what we are now, but the war is over, there is no need. Speaking of disbanding, since your nation says your in the NpO and all, why don't you ask AlmightyGrub what its like to be in an alliance that disbands. But I wouldn't exactly call, you know, entering into a war without a lot of optimism in defense of an ally being a tool. Echelon entered the Karma war to be a good ally, a good friend, and if that is what your looking for us to have changed, you will be sorely disappointed. Maybe you feel differently, thats your own perogative.
  11. oh. I guess that memo slipped off my desk. my bad.
  12. Those who expected, even believed it possible for Echelon to disband completely mis-understand what and who we are. But its lovely you would say such a thing, as an individual who experienced the disbandment of arguably one of this games greatest alliances ever, things like that say alot about you, and trust me its not positive things which its saying
  13. you might be remembering how we declared on... everybody? But yes, Echelon's brightest days are ahead, no doubt.
  14. Words cannot explain how great of friends NADC has been to Echelon. I look forward to nothing but greatness for the both of us.
  15. may the future hold great things for us both.
  16. When liberty comes with hands dabbled in blood it is hard to shake hands with her - Oscar Wilde There are only two forces in the world, the sword and the spirit. In the long run the sword will always be conquered by the spirit -Napoleon Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, Children of all ages.... Echelon is proud to announce the completion of its' post-war terms as set out by Karma. As such, Echelon declares her freedom and sovereignty have now been re-instated to their fullest extent. The members of Echelon have endured hardship in the last few months... However, it is in this hardship Echelon has found she has many friends old and new alike who have gone out of their way to offer help and assistance in her time of need. To these friends we offer our most sincere thanks. Knowing that we have people like you behind us has made things a whole lot easier. During the post-war period Echelon has also received messages of support from across the CN-spectrum... some from places & people whom we would never have expected. To these people we also offer heartfelt gratitude and hope that it is the start of new beginnings between our alliances. When Echelon attempted to negotiate surrender towards the end of the Karma War we found that some of the terms being proposed were harder to swallow than others. However, many of our opponents on the Karma side also recognized this fact, and went out of their way to facilitate the smoothest payment of reparations as was possible at the time. Your good deed will not be forgotten. One thing which has not been lost upon the members of Echelon is the fact that the Karma War has provided a fresh 'break', so to speak. The Echelon of today is very, very different in some ways to the Echelon of 1 year ago. While our core values remain, we have also developed an increased appreciation for the importance of having loyal and honorable friends. Without loyalty and honor a friendship means nothing. As such, the members of Echelon shall aim to engage in relations with those whom we believe to have similar values and principles as ourselves, not just in words but in action. Conversely, Echelon also recognizes that there are some people out there who will seek to take a shot at every available opportunity. To these people we can only offer one piece of advice; choose your shots wisely, you won't get a second chance. To these skeptics we have only to say, for good or for ill... remember this day. Lastly, to our old brothers and sisters in arms and in blood; The day of gathering has come, it is time to return home. For today the Phoenix has risen once more. Born of Fire; Bound by Blood. 17. I made the suggestion of a website, and i'm willing to donate some time/effort (and maybe other resources) to work on a website.
  18. Isn't it funny when a group of people cease to remember that they are of the nothing, and that they have no "leverage", and that in the end their actions, their words, and their intents are without any effect what-so-ever? You set out to get Caffine, and to date the only thing you've done is to make fools out of yourself and for that, I applaud you.
  19. And thus ends the games biggest war, and to think it was all started when a group of alliances jumped into war with no motive other than revenge, and untruthfully paraded morality and righteousness for the duration. (I don't think you fooled anybody, except for maybe yourselves.) At the very least, this chapter of the game is at long last closed. As regrettable as it may have been, its time to look forward. Good gob and good luck to the NPO. Remember that you'll always have friends.
  20. thanks for the warm responses Never know what you'll get on these forums. Us crumble? nah, never haha We at slightly askew are just a bunch of people playing to have fun. We're not in it to win it, we're just in it to have fun. We get destroyed, we reroll, that seed money is oh-so nice, we could get destroyed and be right back where we were in a week. yeah, but when you tech raid an alliance, either your going to get hit back or that alliance is easy prey. We at slightly askew are not easy prey, we are no "welcome home" door mat, and we'll defend down to 0 NS, even against alliances that are 15x our size. (as The Fellowship is) In the wild, many species have "mechanisms" that work to their advantage in the food chain. Our "mechanism" is the fact that we're going to hit back, over and over and over again. we get destroyed, we reroll. thanks for the first part, and per diplomacy, for what its worth, all the wars first initiated by The Fellowship were basic tech raids with peace offered. Sure we could have just accepted that peace and gone on, maybe taken it to private channels and told The Fellowship something along the lines of "We don't appreicate it", but I can only imagine the "So What?" that would be running through their minds. Such would be lying down in the face of adversity, and that just isn't the way we do business. Doing such would be a welcome invitation to being !@#$%*^ repeatedly in the future. Any alliance that thinks their going to tech raid us needs to know that they'd better gang bang each and every Slightly Askew member and make sure we're in anarchy for perpetuity, but that wouldn't be a tech raid, that would be an unwarranted perma-war out of the blue. Tournament Edition is a tough place, but even thats a bit extreme.
  21. Yesterday around 6:00 PM server time, several members of The Fellowship declared war on members of Slightly Askew in what appeared to be a tech raid. We at Slightly Askew do not tolerate these sort of things, and as a result we organized a response and successfully sent two of the three attackers into Anarchy. In the hours since The Fellowship have responded to our defending our members by sending numerous additional attackers. As a result, Slightly Askew hereby acknowledges a state of war with The Fellowship. We're a small alliance, 8 members, The Fellowship is huge, we have no friends, they have huge friends, we know how this is going to end, so why do it? Why the $%#! not? May it be a fun ride all the way to the bottom, at which point we'll start all over again. Signed for Slightly Askew, memoryproblems Speaker Socom Speaker
  22. hail Vanguard, hail AB, this is good stuff, your both really great people.
  23. This war is rapidly approaching the two month mark, and Echelon has suffered tremendous hits throughout this war. We've lost over 50 members and have dropped from 5.2 million to barely above 1 million alliance strength. We've suffered our own share of internal problems, and the fact that Echelon is alive at all today is nothing short of a miracle. When these terms were first presented to us, it was obvious to us that they were unreasonable and were deliberately designed to cripple Echelon. In the weeks since Echelon was originally presented these terms, our leaders have worked dilligently to try to find common ground and compromise on terms that were more feasible, however Karma (certian alliances in particular, who know who they are) have been absolutely unwilling to budge what-so-ever. Additionally, regarding the 1k tech clause, I had understood the terms in the manner that you couldn't send any reps out if your under 1k tech, and furthermore, if you fall below that sending reps, i was under the impression that you couldn't send any more until you rise above 1k again. Obviously we would appreciate further clarifacation on this clause. Either way, the clause would make it very difficult for Echelon to pay off these reparations, as we have just 27 members who would be eligible to pay off these reparations, excluding more than half of our current government (including myself). Sure, Echelon has done its fair share of wrong-doings and we've made a (large) handful of mistakes, but i'd appreciate it if you could point me to any alliance who's been around for any considerable amount time and hasn't done something less than commendable or made a mistake. I try not to dwell too much in Echelon's past but more in the present and the future. I think if you look at Echelon's current government, you'll see numerous fresh faces that had no part what-so-ever in many of those deeds you despise so much. Echelon entered this war knowing exactly what we were getting into, and while we certianly haven't enjoyed the thrashing we have received, if we had to repeat the past three months all over again, we would likely end up right back where we're at now. We entered this war to defend NPO, one of our best friends in this game and our longest standing ally. Regardless of Echelon's actions in the past, I will never doubt that entering this war and honoring our treaty with Pacifica was the right thing to do, regardless of how hard Karma tries to say it wasn't. Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe that Echelon deserves white peace, nor are we asking for it. We fully expected to have reparations demanded of us, and we're certainly not against paying some. What we are opposed to are the numerous provisions in the terms which were unreasonable, devoid of all logic, and generally unfair. We've tried to work with our opponents to resolve at least a few of these issues, however our opponents (with the exception of a small handful of them) have shown a lack of desire to entertain any compromise, and appear to be focused on one thing, overseeing the full destruction of Echelon. If I'm mistaken and Karma would like to acheive peace in this conflict, the leaders of Echelon have been and still are open to working on a mutually agreeable agreement.
  24. I usually do, but since you've already made your mind without ever talking to me, I thought i might as well fit your stereotypes (as unfounded as they may be). Now that thats done with, by all means, i apologize and have a nice day. (and thats not sarcasm)
