1.
Oh the Dolphin Wars... *sigh*
*sigh*? Boooo! Those times were a blast. Literally, Procinctia was getting blasted up
2. A recording of a folk song from Republic of War's Western Texas region sung by a very famous actress in the country at the time fills the radio waves, blocking out any transmission. The song spoke about how even though the land seems desolate, as long as we have one another, there will always be prosperity. Some of the soldiers' voices can be heard singing along with it, mostly soldiers with a west Texas draw. This continued for a good five minutes, a show of brute technological force that special forces of the Republic of War were well trained and well equipped. Finally, the song stopped, the voices trailed off, and static was heard for a few moments. Finally, the static stopped, followed then by a few seconds of silence. Some inaudible whispers are heard, then an ordered barked in a very deep voice, "Fangen wir an." (Let's begin.) Instead of the Procinctian captives talking, this time a Republic of War soldier spoke with a noticeable Texas-German accent, though not so thick as to be unintelligible. "We are tired of this propaganda! We have buried and burned your country before, we will do it again! Generalissimo will pay for his arrogance. To add insult to injury, do you not even care for your own? How pitiful of a country the civilians must live in if service to one's country doesn't earn you the respect of your government! There are plenty of men here, we can surely begin executions one by one, live over the air. And we will broadcast it openly so the nations and people around know that loyalty to Generalissimo means nothing. Procinctia does not care about you, Procinctia does not exist for you. How sad to think even when they die, they will not be martyrs in their own land! We pity your soldiers, no wonder fighting during the Dolphin Wars was easy. They have no belief in their country! Accept our demands, this is our final warning. We will not accept propagandist lies. If nothing is heard of substance, the executions begin. After they're done, we will begin a campaign of terror against your country to the last man. We are well prepared, well stocked, and well trained. For the glory of Republic of War! Glory for Highbuzz!" After a few seconds of silence, the names of the captives are read off by themselves, one by one, to verify that they're all still alive. After it concludes, the transmission ends. --- A direct transmission is sent to the other received, "LS Flensborg, nation of origin? Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Ally or combatant of Procinctia or neutral? Are you sending forces to our vicinity, our equipment picks up aircraft and ships heading toward our area. Without identification and intent, they will be fired upon." --- Unknown to anyone else besides the LS Flensborg, the group is fully aware of the aircraft converging on their location. Unknown to everyone is the level of dedication, training, sophistication, and the logistics of this group. They are dug in, they are not just on one island, and they have anti-air and anti-ship weaponry as any of the approaching crafts will find out if they enter within range. The group has made many strikes upon Procinctian crafts (commercial, escorts, aircraft, etc) over the months but they go unreported due to a Procinctian unwillingness to address the group due to fear of a direct confrontation.
3. -- A Procinctian resistance radio operator of a ship taps the Captain on the back -- He salutes, then sighs as he reports that radio contact with the main fleet has been lost. "And something is playing in its place, Captain.. Something we haven't heard in years." "What is it, Private?" "Republic of War, or err Amerikanisches Reich's national anthem." A minute of silent passes, no one moves or no eyes blink, "Put on the radio over the PA Private, I want to hear it." The radio operating walks over to a switch board, flips a switch, and sure enough, a grainy, low quality recording of the Amerikanisches Reich's national anthem, which was the same as the Republic of War's, plays. No lyrics -- simply instrumental. "This has been playing for five minutes now, at first I thought it was some kind of joke... but then I tried radioing the main fleet. I couldn't, we're being jammed, other ships could be jammed as well." The Captain shrugged, "The war is over and they're not even a State anymore, this must be a poltical or military test. It just cannot be that ---" The music stopped, but in its place, heavy breathing came. Again, the silence returned to the room. "We are Procinctian Engineering Group #45. We are being held hostage by Republic of War Special Forces. The ransom is....,” there is a pause and then some German is yelled in the background followed by the sound of a gun-butt hitting flesh. A few seconds later, another voice takes over, “.. is the establishment of direct contact with Republic of War High Command. The group wishes to inform they will not be swayed by Propagandist lies that state the Republic of War is no more. High Command will be contacted or Karl himself must radio the group or else we will continue to be held hostage and all Procinctian and foreign forces will be met with violent response. Respond within 72 hours or the group will take aggressive actions and the safety of the hostages is not guaranteed.” The radio cut back to playing the Amerikanisches Reich national anthem and would continue to for 10 more minutes until a screeching static sound concluded the transmission. OOC: Going off this http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=104379
4. Amerikanisches Reich is surprised by the result however the people have spoke. OOC: Louisiana was one of the more interesting countries to read about when I lurk this board semi-daily. I look forward to reading the later stuff you do.
5. Amerikanisches Reich hopes that its regional neighbor starts activity on road projects when the budget has been approved. It is sad when government beauracracy and apathy are the reasons why it is not moving forward when it is normally lack of funding.
6. The land reform seems like a wise decision made by Transvaal to keep minority groups in Transvaal equal to the white majority. Amerikanisches Reich is currently considering land reforms dealing with rural land which is mostly inhabited by minorities and will look over other country's methods (such as Transvaal's) when doing so.
7. We congratulate our former ambassador on his promotion and eagerly await to welcome a replacement.
8. Amerikanisches Reich is frightened by the appearance of powerful viruses in the modern age, regardless, we recognize the quarantine and will follow protocol.
9. Amerikanisches Reich will support the Tahoe Republic by any means necessarily, though that should go without declaring. Amerikanisches military is on standby.
10.
"We think you'd also like to know that Tahoe supports the Amerikanisches Reich taking over Texas...and frankly, this has been going on for ten years. We're a bit tired."
We're glad to hear you are; we're not.
11. Amerikanisches Reich has notified military officials to be aware of the current situation and voices support for Tahoe's call for the U.S. to withdrawal.
12. Amerikanisches Reich is keen on regional cooperation and friendship, our government would definitely be willing to hold talks to strength our (lack of) relation.
13. Amerikanisches Reich has many original pieces of Tahoe's history due to our long and committed friendship with the First Republic of Tahoe. We will preserve these and glorify them as the true works of the nation of Tahoe.
14. Amerikanisches Reich will be keeping a very close eye on these happenings.
15. In the privacy of the chambers of government, one liners and sexist jokes could be heard for hours. Everyone was too busy laughing and getting drunk after hearing about this to formulate an official reply. Talks of setting up a Boytopia, a satellite nation, started, in the hopes of egging on a weird, comical war.
16. "Well our borders are open for any traffic between the fighters and anyone wishing to deal with the fighters... though I don't know how much good we can do since we do not border anywhere close to this."
17. "We appreciate that we are remembered but we still must wonder then, what can we do for you now?"
18. David too was happy to hear the news but wondered the same thing and added after Strijdom, "Yes, do tell the plan, and how we can play a helping hand," David patted the guard, who nodded, and David continued, "With our nation being on the North American continent, we can help greatly and we will do just that. It would be an honor to help our oldest and most loyal ally."
19. David Brussels drove with one guard, but it was a very nice car at least, and David was the driver. The armored column of jeeps was going "slower than molasses" according to the guard so David swung by and started to pass them. He hoped to God they saw the Amerikanisches Reich's flag on the front of the car that they put on it after they made it into the outskirt area so they don't think they're up to something and kill them. They pulled up to the house where a man took the keys from David and him and the guard stepped out. The guard immediately started to glance around casually as they walked towards the house, were cleared by the guards, and entered. He introduced himself to all the people - whom he had seen most before - and the guard, but said nothing of his guard's name. "Obviously our Kaiser," playing on the little argument he overheard earlier, "Kaiser Verteidiger, expresses his desire to be here in person but with the way the situation is on the continent, he was not willing to send himself or any of his top military advisers overseas. This guard is a guard of mine, but also represents our military. He is representing our military, I am representing our country and policy. Just like what we represent, he would die for me." He pulled a chair out for the guard and one for himself and they both sat, waiting for the Tahoan representatives, and for the matter with Kaiser Martens to resolve. "You may also refer to the guard as Henry, but that will not be his name if you ever meet him again."
20.
In GLP's military base: "On the bright side, we now know what needs to be improved..." "SHUT UP!"
OOC: This made me laugh, good stuff so far.
21. Amerikanisches Reich welcomes this new nation to the world. Let us hope there will be peace.
22. Statement from State Television: Shortly after military festivities, Amerikanisches Reich has launched fifteen more naval vessels to secure territorial waters and add to the strength of a fleet in the Gulf of Mexico. The nation is now proud to say it is a power to be recognized within the Gulf and Atlantic Ocean and looks forward to continued expansion. The fleet total now comes to twenty ships. In a show of territorial power and ability to show it can secure its territorial boundaries, military forces have moved into border military installations and towns to strengthen patrols and fortifications along the border. The small amount of land our nation currently possess allows for a "logistical God send" for military coordinators according to military advisers to the Kaiser. Many of the people in the military were in it once before - when Amerikanisches Reich stretched from the tip of Texas to the bottom of Mexico, and width wise from Texas to Arizona.
23. Amerikanisches Reich has established itself among the world community once again and its government has formed. Since the formation of Amerikanisches Reich as a world power once again, a military needed to be organized. Our people have always embraced Nationalism and Militarism and it's no difference this time. Amerikanisches Reich is pleased to announce many former soldiers of the Reich have re-enlisted. The military of the Reich will not be a inexperienced fighting force, it will be filled with experience soldiers of war that will serve as role models for new volunteers. Also, the Amerikanische military has been regarded as one of the finest in the world in the past, it should still be held in high esteem. Its solders are disciplined, well trained, and well equipped. --- A state television segment ran with the newly appointed Admiral of the Kriegsmarine (Navy), he was at a stand, with him, Otto Verteidiger. In the background were 5 ships, with all hands on deck and presenting. "I am here today to announce that a new part of the military is created, you can see it behind me. Now our great nation and our people have a fighting force in the water, ready to defend our nation against foreign aggression. Our fleet will continue to grow and our service numbers will continue to climb. Our people have waited a long time since the Dolphin Wars to have a naval fighting force and now we can say we have it. I hope to serve this country proud - in war or peace." The ships present at the announcement of the new Amerikanische Kriegsmarine were as follows: ARS-01 Otto (Cruiser) ARS-02 Amerikaner (Cruiser) ARS-03 Karl (Cruiser) ARS-04 Spectre (Aircraft Carrier) ARS-05 Uhtred (Destroyer) Cruiser ARS-01 Otto Cruiser ARS-02 Amerikaner --- Kaiser Verteidiger sat next to the new Admiral of the Kriegsmarine, Sebastian Holland, General of the Heer, Henry Mann, and General of the Luftwaffe, Geoff Gustolfson, along with other government and political figures in a stand set up on the side of the main street of Neu Corpus Christi. Beside the stands were many citizens, from all over the nation, cheering and celebrating. A few days ago, the military advisers to the Kaiser had announced that the military was now fighting capable, it was equipped with enough weaponry, vehicles, and man power to fight and defend itself against foreign aggression and to pursue Amerikanische interests. It was organized, military bases had been made, plans had been drawn up. They were ready for what the world could imagine for it. Also, enlistment had swelled in the past weeks in all branches and the military had grown huge, pleasing the government and the Kaiser. The Kaiser had announced a grand military parade with all branches of the military partaking a week after this revelation, inviting any foreign delegates to it, especially ones that now held embassies in the city. The parade was now occurring, military parades held huge status in the country, it was a symbol of power and might of the nation, it represented unity among the people. To be in the military was one of the highest honors and privileges in the country. Banners, flags, and country colors were all around the city. People lined the streets for miles, in front of the beer halls, the post offices, the coffee shops, all closed for the festivities. People threw flowers at soldiers as they marched by, sang the national anthem, and parents pointed to symbols on flags that represented certain divisions among the military. The first to march by the Kaiser would be the most decorated part of the Heer, the largest and most powerful segment of the people's military. This part of the Heer had served in the Dolphin Wars and many other conflicts after. They represented the history of Republic of War, Amerikanisches Reich, and all the struggles endured by both. The drums and coordinated steps of the soldiers could be heard miles away as the approached their beloved leader. As the soldiers of the Reich approached the stand, the Kaiser and General of the Heer rose, along with Karl Verteidiger, Otto's father and former ruler of Republic of War, and saluted as the column passed. The first row of this part of the Heer carried the former flag of Republic of War on the outside columns, with the Amerikanisches Reich flag in the middle, and saluted Karl specifically. The columns after that salutes the Kaiser Verteidiger, carrying Amerikanisches Reich flags and the Heer flag. Behind the troops was a column of 15 tanks, which the kids always seemed to adore. As the Heer passed, the sound of faint marching was heard trailing off from where the Heer was marching towards and from where the Luftwaffe was coming from, but something else was heard... But as soon as it was heard, it was seen. Fighters flew over the street, screaming and leaving colored smoke of national colors overhead. As the people gawked at the fighters, the column of Luftwaffe soldiers and pilots appeared and cheers erupted. Kaiser Verteidiger continued to stand and the General of the Luftwaffe stood with him as Henry sat. As they saluted, more fighters flew overhead in amazing formations. As soon as the fighters exited the horizon, the Kriegsmarine march and drum beat was heard. Sebastian rose as Geoff sat and joked with Otto saying, "Sadly we cannot do what the Heer or Luftwaffe did since we're not by the water!" The Kriegsmarine soldiers saluted as they marched by and it was noticed by the crowds it was significantly smaller, but nonetheless disciplined and intimidating. Shouts from the crowd rang out, "Our new heroes!", "Warriors of the Water!", "Defenders of the Shore!", they will not let the Kriegsmarine feel unequal to any of the branches of the military. As they continued on their path through the city and on to more anxious crowds, the Kaiser and members of government mingled with the people and then took part in the festivities of the night. A military parade marks a holiday in any hosting city, with beer halls opening afterward, and people having a night of good fun.
24. Josef Mender, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commented saying, "We will chalk this one to butterflies in the stomach of our football players - they have never played in the international arena and they were not accustomed to what they played against. We will not say the other team did not play well, though, they played great and their win reflects it. We hope our team will do better next game." Otto Verteidiger wished them luck in future games but expressed more hope in the national hockey team which has had experience in the international sports arena and did quite well last time. The Kaiser is a known hockey fan as well.
