1. Otto turned to Holihan, "I am sorry, offense was not intended. Those requirements are fine. And well.. if no one has objections to the lands allocated to the Reich then I think we're content. We'll start organizing..." Turning to Zzzptm, "I'm sure the nuclear defense umbrella will only be needed temporarily but it's appreciated, we'll accept the offer."
2. Otto peered across the map and frowned a bit, "We actually had an interest in the opposite regions. The regions, San Luis Potosi, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas are some of the ones we desired and not so much the western ones. But we won't push for it now I suppose, we're grateful to get a footing back." Otto leaned back, muttering something in German to himself.
3. Otto looked at Holihan, holding direct eye contact, "I'm glad to hear that. What are the 'wishes'? I am hearing requirements in place of 'wishes'." After hearing Zapatan, Otto spoke again, "My concern for land is the former holdings of the CFNA. North-eastern Mexico."
4. Otto shifted eye contact with all the parties as they entered and took notice of all of them. He was somewhat unsettled by being in a room with combatants of a one-time strong ally of his nation but didn't try and show it. "I'd be careful to discuss plans among strangers, friends." Otto smirked. "Not that I would reveal anything. But I would leave that discussion for another time, possibly when non-participants are not present. I don't think the point of the conference is to discuss war matters anyways." He continued, "Amerikanisches Reich didn't really collapse like before, but the power of the State faded into a more local, regional government. Amerikanisches Reich's presence in the world stage declined and national functions stopped. We're looking to reverse that. We wish to gain some land back, I believe saying this will help steer the discussion in the right way,"
5. Otto walked alone in the hallway and propped the door open to the conference room. He stared at Mr. Cannon roaming around like a bee. He stared at him for a bit, laughing a little to himself that he hadn't noticed him watching him. Otto then walked in and sat down, Mr. Cannon didn't even noticing. He just cocked his head and continued to stare at the frantically busy man.
6. OOC: You'll have to pardon this entirely OOC post because I'm inquiring so I know what I can do next ICly. I am not SUPER active in CNRP but I consider myself active. I read what's going on quite often (every other day or so) I just don't care to comment on it. I've always RP'd AR as very isolationist and I didn't really see the point in posting "This is interesting." in spots just to flag myself as active. If I'm ruled inactive then I'll take that ruling and choose to do whatever I want from there but if not, then I guess from now on I'll just have to comment every now and then on stuff to let you guys know I'm not dead. If I'm not deemed inactive then I'll reply to this ICly after that.. edit: And I just saw that other thread on my nation going into anarchy.. Baaah.
7.
Trying to start a war, Sargun? KC gave his land to Jed as a protectorate.
Was there a RP for this? I lurk quite a bit but I miss quite a few things I guess.
8. So... now I'll feel weird if I try and take over Texas. Is he totally giving up claims so he'll reroll on return or... I'm so confused how this could work.
9. We're so confused about the Catholic religion's happening in the world. Would the Church wish to explain what's happening to a totally oblivious bystander?
10.
Tell us if you notice anything MHA.
Even the bug zapper notices a little something..
11.
I'm just waiting for NPO to break terms in defense of CnG at this point.
That's just stupid. They're neutral now!
12. This topic to me sets apart the dumb, the smart, and the clueless really well. Very scary how well it does it for me.
13. OOC: Late reply but meh. IC: Even though Amerikanisches Reich and Viniland stood on different ends during the Texas conflict, we cannot ignore the time when Viniland and Amerikanisches Reich were steadfast allies. We are truly saddened by this announcement.
14. Hmmm. What was said to us once when we ignored Finland...
15. We will ignore comments from Finland as we view Finland as an irrelevant nation with no standing in these matters. I am willing to kill your military. I don't see where you think I would target civilians. And a little more land? Obviously you do not know the significance of the lands you hold. But we've had this argument before and I don't really feel like repeating it. And no, once you vacate Texas, I would have no problem with your nation. But Texas is ours and our claim against will not drop. As for not sending any troops into Texas, my people do demand it, but my military's leadership is not stupid and not willing to send in troops to a nation that could be backed by nations like Viniland and New England. However, we will continue to hold troops at the gate, waiting for any weakness. We will always be there, waiting. We must correct this. Republic of War was almost a German nation. People from Germany fled to the persecution of the government in Germany to settle in America. We took the land and made it our own. Republic of War, as well as Amerikanisches Reich, is of German ancestry, but we are not a "German" nation. We denounce Europe and her old ways. People of "German descent" are the vast majority.
16. With the men, equipment, and vehicles unloading on a very small area of suitable shore to deploy on, they were sitting ducks for the island's stationary 155mm guns. As soon as the doors opened on the landing crafts, shells landed in them. A trademark of Republic of War, now the Reich, is fire. Incendiary rounds lit up the crafts and the shore, burning many, many men and supplies. The fire and the scrap metal accumulating on the shore made for an even more narrow landing route, allowing the 155m guns to focus on the armored columns heading towards the base and the main path to the base. This enemy group did not consider the path to the gate of the base. Unalaska is not flat, it's very rugged and the path to the flat top which houses the base takes many, many turns. They also have to go up, meaning they have the disadvantage of fighting uphill. The RUF took advantage of this and built defenses long ago in preparation of an event like this. Pillboxes with machine guns, anti-armor guns litter the path. Mines start from the very beginning of the path to almost the very end. Foxholes and ditches litter the sides of the path, covered in brush to make it seem as if no troops are hiding them, but they were. Many with RPGs, machine guns, even a few with flame throwers. Some had mines on them to throw under tanks as soon as they're about to pass. The path is also not flat in certain parts, purposely made that way, so armored vehicles will have to stop, and slowly go around these dug obstacles. This will leave them vulnerable to stationary gun fire from the base as well as fire from the troops on the path and in the pillboxes. These tanks and the men coming up to the base will take heavy and extreme loses before they even make it to the gate, which itself alone, will be hard to open. As soon as the first tank started up the path, a mine went off and blew it to all hell. The column stopped for a second, then went around the husk. Troops from the first lowered ditch started to open fire and an anti-armored gun from a pillbox blew away another tank. Some of the tanks were already burning on the landing area, their armored column was already falling apart. God knows how badly they'd be by the time they made it to the gate, if they'd even make it....
17. Missiles started raining down on the base and the makeshift airstrip. Most of the automatic air defenses were knocked out during the barrage, the others were still trying to warm up. Missiles made direct hits in the barracks but fortunately for the RUF, they were almost empty. One of the automated missile systems locked on to one of the helicopter, slamming a missile into its hull and exploding it. A faint cheer was heard but a few dozen men were mowed down in the open soon after. The soldiers were silenced and the ones with missiles lifted it on their shoulders and tried to lock on. Hasselhuff was out in the open, shooting a pistol at a Mi-24 that flew right over him and the didn't hit him. He nailed the pilot in the throat but the corpse of the pilot slammed the helicopter into a dugout with 7 men. The third helicopter was locked on with a manned SAM system and knocked out of the sky but not before its gatling guns nailed the guy who fired the rocket and 3 men behind him. 355 men were left after the initial airstrike. The landing crafts had gotten nearer though and the big guns started adjusting their sights to nail them as they came closer.
18. A little before the initial attack... A private looking at a screen half asleep starts to hear beeps... He awakes and looks at the screen. He scratches his eyes, "Sir, come look. You're not going to believe it. Radar is picking up enemy forces, lots of 'em too." The commander of Unalaska, David Hasselhuff, turned around from reading the local paper's favorite editorial, 'Whales who look like seals'. "You're right, I don't believe it.. maybe someone is stupid enough to try and hit Viniland." The private shook his head no, "They're coming right at us..." Hasselhuff walked over to the radar and looked. Aircraft, landing craft, and they were circling and closing it. He thought about how much he hated it here and that either a victory against an enemy here or at least dying would get him off. The private snapped him out of his thought, "Sir.. Procinctians?" Both of the men looked at one another and laughed so hard the private peed himself, they both knew Procinctia was still far too weak to make a move. Hasselhuff then yelled at the private to get into new pants. As the private ran to the barracks, Hasselhuff raised the alarm (incidentally waking all the men in the barracks to see the private's wetted pants) and spoke into the PA system, "We're about to be under attack by an overwhelming force. Get out of bed, get to your stations, and have a nice day!" 4:00am All the men sat in their stations ready to defend this cold, almost useless island against an unknown but larger and more equipped force than they. Island Command had just radioed the mainland to get "Cannot send reinforcements in time by plane. Sit tight and repel enemy forces. If failure to hold Unalaska is imminent, alert Headquarters. Cruise missiles fitted with napalm will be launched to scud the island. God's Luck." Radar picked up 3 helicopters heading towards the island and shortly after the men had visuals. Anti-aircraft systems were lacking and the ones they had were old, cold, and hardly working. A few seconds after spotting visuals on the incoming aircraft, landing crafts were spotted. Large guns were aimed with hopes when the crafts neared they could be sunk before landing. Spray painted on one of the guns in a hurry was "Gott Mit Uns". The men now sat still once more... awaiting till the enemy got close enough to strike. Reich Unalaska Forces (RUF): 400 men 3 tanks 5 GTK Boxers (APCs) A few anti-aircraft missiles systems, some stationary big guns
19. We don't remember when questions didn't end in question marks. But to answer you, many of the people in Texas left to what is now the Reich and many of these people (along with citizens who came here who fled when the Reich fell the first time) are demanding us, the government, to take back the Greater Reich. We are merely serving our people's desire. We don't see the point in answering anymore questions like this as we will make this clear. Our claim on Texas will not cease.
20. Do you still use the Pony Express for your mail? Audio of the transmission via telegraph, "deet deet det det deet deet deeeet det det det deeet"
21. The Federal Republic of America came to the Amerikanisches Reich's Government with a plea for peace. The Reich, wishing to have good relations with any American nation (and world, for that matter) that is not the Commonwealth, heard this plea and embraced it. Sensible terms were ironed out and agreed upon quite quickly. The terms are as follows: May this signify a step towards reuniting the former Greater Reich with its rightful owner and a quicker resolution to the Reich/Commonwealth conflict.
22. Amerikanisches Reich wishes to send some small medical teams, food, supplies, etc due to the grand relations Amerikanisches Reich held with the Pravus Ingruo. We would offer to send troops as well but we fear if any conflict breaks out among the Texas-Reich border, they would be trapped. We offer money to Tahoe for use in the former Pravus Ingruo lands as well.
23. Karl Verteidiger (Highbuzz) wishes to attend but didn't know how it would be looked at and decided until it was okay'd he just said "A fierce, fascinating opponent. For sure. One of the few Procinctian government officials to live through the Dolphin Wars."
