1. "I was speaking to our Italian friend but at least now I know how you feel."
2. Upon hearing the whisper Matches replied by whispering from the steps, "Hell no, you turn us around I'll shoot you myself. I don't get to the site I don't get paid, keep going."
3.
Since when have I claimed to be sane in the first place?
Thsi seems to be common occurrence with GMs. I wonder if there's a link... Congratummiserations anyhow dude!
4.
Taking that ruling into consideration. . . What does a landing ship actually do in CNRP?
Carry troops, helicopters, VTOLs and landing craft.
5. I am a lover of the keep it simple stupid method.
6.
Matches, having given away his position with his six shots, is responded to with a round from the M-79. Rather than crank off a fragmentation round the gunner shoots off one of his precious canister rounds and blows a cloud of deadly .32 caliber lead balls at where he thinks Matches is shooting from. Another wave of gunfire ripples out from the woods as the four remaining riflemen rattle off three or four rounds a piece in the approximate location where they think the boat is located. "Get ready!" the leader of the ambush team orders as he prepares his men for the next part of their operation. Whether he is heard or not remains to be seen given the rattle of rifle fire lashing out at the boat.
The balls ripped through wood behind him as he jumped back down the steps. He noticed several holes on the back his shirt which showed just how close he had come but luckily he could not find any wound on his person. What he wanted to know was just how the hell their ambushers knew exactly where they would be. Someone knows, someone always knows. He didn't know who on board he could trust so he would trust no-one. He sat down silently and made plans for what he would do next.
7. Matches heard the snap as three rounds flew past his head and he promptly fired six rounds in the direction the shots came from before diving back down the steps before they could take another round of shots at him.
8. Matches sat in the passengers compartment checking all of his equipment was in order. The heat and humidity would be a new challenge for his electronics but he had no doubt they would not fail him seeing how they never had before. From night vision and communications to infrared motion detectors and laser pointers he tested every single piece of equipment to ensure it was working before he set foot on shore. After checking these he set about ensuring each knife was as sharp as was possible, each stroke of the sharpening showed just how good we was at it. With a swift and seemingly effortless fling a knife left his hand and hit the wall opposite. The spider that had been slowly making it's way down the wall had been dealt with, one less to worry about. Although he wasn't truly scared scared of them, he much preferred them being under a knife or a boot than his shirt. The right corner of his mouth rose slightly as he pulled the knife out of the wall. Upon sitting down again he went over the maps again and again, trying to figure out what the hell to do upon reaching land again. He had a vague plan in his head but until he could see the path they would trek along with his own two eyes it would remain vague, with room for improvisation. The news of possible hostiles in the area was not a pleasing one but not unexpected. They could, however, turn out to be the least of his worries going by the amount of weaponry that was aboard. He would be keeping a keen eye on the others in the boat to ensure he was not caught by surprise. Then the shots rang out. Matches immediately drew his pistol and went up the steps to the deck. "What the hell happened?!?" He shouted to those who had been above during the shots, whilst keeping himself low.
9.
"A lot more than just biological weapons, gentlemen." The Exar strode from his isolated position at the back of the cabin to join both the pilot and the inquisitive gentleman at the helm. He removed the pistol from its' holster and removed the magazine. While Azazoth talked, he inspected the magazine for any signs of flaws or imperfections. An ill-seated magazine had killed quite a few soldiers, and there was no way he wanted to become one of them. "If you would let me clarify a few things," he started in the low growl that seemed to be his only tone of voice, "the Holy American Empire claimed domain in the interior of the Amazon in much the same way as the United States claimed the western lands prior to their civil war, hundreds of years ago. The vital difference is that with the numerous abominations and trigger happy Diberian survivors in the interior, it was never settled enough to even warrant voting rights. That's the good news. "The bad news is that the Empire found it extremely convenient to hide all sorts of nasty testing facilities and secret weapon grounds in the jungle. I can tell you stories about gases that make a man's muscles rot from beneath his skin." In a single motion he turned and spat thickly into the water. "There are rumors about Imperial survivors that continue to proclaim allegiance to the dead Empire. The only real advice I have is to check your surroundings, keep an open mind thinking of traps, and for the love of god don't enter any buildings you don't have to."
"If there's a pay cheque at the end of this hell bound trip, I'll go through every single building in this jungle by myself if I have to." Keeping his calm demeanor he drew his revolver and loaded six rounds into the chamber, "And God help anyone that gets in my way, Imperial remnants or not." "Assuming we're actually here to find these 'antiquities' and not route out the end of a dead empire I'm sure it will be easy enough to stay well out of their way."
10. Matches Malone arrived on the boat with the sun blazing down on his head. This was much too hot for his liking but it's nothing he hadn't endured before. He didn't much like the scent as he stepped into the river faring craft but there wasn't a lot he could do about that either. He carried on only what he needed. A medical kit, a water filtration kit, a change of clothes, black as opposed to the jungle camouflage he was currently wearing, a gas powered grappling gun with 30 feet of high tensile wire, a Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum, a box of rounds and two cases of electrical scanning equipment used for finding antiquities and other things. As well as all this he had a machete slung across his back, a dagger on his left boot, a survival knife attached to the front of his belt and six throwing knives in holsters on the left side of his body. Knives were most certainly his favourite "tool of the trade" so to speak, he had trained with them for most of his life. He was a pretty goo shot with a pistol but he preferred knives, they were quiet and in his hands just as deadly. He had trained in several martial arts, focusing mainly on aikido in which he held the highest rank. At 5'11'' and 180 pounds the 30 year old 'explorer' could handle almost anything thrown at him. He gave several muted greetings to the other already on the boat as he got on and took a seat at the rear.
11.
To:RNR Ltd. After seeing your advertisement, I would very much like to apply. After a very long and distinguished career as what some would call as the worlds greatest detective I decided to move my area of expertise to the "extraction" of antiquities. My skills are second only to a few in this field and can provide many references should you require them. My generous benefactors will cover all my costs including any transport and equipment I require. Attached you fill find a list of my achievements from my previous lines of work. I hope to hear back from you soon. Regards, Matches Malone
OOC: What are the limits for weapons in the RP?
12. Not without a serious amount of godmodding!
13.
That's just being a baby, buck up ol' boy.
But a troll like you is just gonna kill them all :V
14.
No I will not be passing around messages begging people to participate, that's one of the purposes of a sub forum for character rp. To put it in one central location that is easy to sort through and find. And I could careless why people don't do it, their loss, my gain. Now go find that stiff upper lip of yours.
Anyhow, by your logic should we have a sub forum for wars? Diplomacy? Treaties? Announcements? Would it be completely separate to CNRP?
Make all threads kill zones. Problem solved. No safe haven for any and all characters allowed.
Why would I want to put all my characters at risk? It would be fun at times I have no doubt but I'm sure this would make people hesitant.
15. If it's such a hindrance why do all the people that do character RPs still do character RPs? Did you ever think maybe some people just don't want to? I don't think we need a subforum. If you want to encourage people to do character RPs send them a PM and ask them to join it, not just make a thread which is open for anyone to join that they might easily miss.
16.
We call on the world to pool together its napalm and white phosphorous.
Why burn it when you can... eh... hmm... on second thought, burning it seems like a very appropriate response at this time. All our napalmz is urs.
17. Hey, please mark Ibiza as Athenian federation and the rest of Akdeniz as free land per this RP! Thanks http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=107269
18. As of now the United Republic of Akdeniz has decided to give up it's claim to any and all lands. After a vote, the people of Ibiza decided they wanted to return to the Athenian Federation. The African people decided they would return to a free protectorate much like the rest of the unruled people of Africa. Juan Carlos, Supreme Chancellor
19.
The Republic of Texas offers no comment on the Andorran-Affair.
You're input into the discussion is highly appreciated. Please continue to add your unending wisdom on world affairs such as this.
20.
Might I ask you to deal with it?
You may.
21. Can I please not be poo coloured? :3 -Akdeniz
22. We implore the French not to perpetuate the low view some have that Socialism is the same as it was in the USSR so many decades ago. Answering with diplomacy goes a long way rather than threatening with war. Give the people their choice, if they want independence why not consider it? Is a piece of land the size of Andorra really such a great loss when it would lead to Socialism being seen in a better light? Juan Carlos, Supreme Chancellor of The United Republic of Akdeniz
23. Okay so how about in a war that isn't pre planned the GMs write a very short OOC post after every attacking post saying what's okay and what's not. Any arguments AT ALL and their post is wiped. They would then also say what can be responded to so something like "You can't see his jets but you can see his ground troops, respond." After each attack people would simply need to post a link to their own post in the GMs court. Now during the current war we have all three GMs in a war so I think in that situation the GMs should all agree on one person to be a temp "GM" for that thread and that thread alone.
24. Here's an idea. With a race, say Formula One, there's two distinct factors that affect the outcome. The skill of the driver and the car. A really good driver in a worse car might be as fast as a worse driver in a fast car. However the better drivers almost always get the better cars and it leads to a boring race with those in the slower cars pretty much never standing a chance. Now if you give everyone the same car it relies simply on the drivers skill and it really does make a much better race. Now I would say we have the same thing in CNRP. We have tech and RP ability. Now it goes much the same as racing. Low tech good RP vs good tech low RP etc etc. Now while most of you will simply shoot this idea down without a second thought, why not take away any advantage anyone might have from holding more tech than another player does IG. Everyone is equal. Those that put a lot of effort into their RPs, both details of tech before and RP of their use during a war, will do better than those that have not put any effort into it at all and do very little during the war. Now you might all be saying "but we have tech in game it makes sense for it to give us better equipment in RP" even though after a certain point IG all it does is give us more damage and more ships not super soldiers with full body armour, laser guns and 6th generation fighters. Now people might say "But I've put so much effort into my RP tech, I don't want to lose it all" but the point of my idea is that those with good RP don't lose it. We can still have future tech, all we need is an upper limit. Those with the best RP of their detail can hit the limit. Those with little to no RP simply receive current day tech. The more they RP the details of their technology the higher up the tech scale they go, the amount of tech they can receive with their RP would be moderated by the GMs or something. ANyhow, it's just an idea. EDIT: And by details I don't mean lot's of numbers I mean full on descriptions.
