  1. Hey you nerd, that sharp dude on the left is ME. 'Sup And yeah I am still that cool. Umm, back on topic, this is not far from how it all starts. lol
  2. After what we have been witness to the past few days in the way of logs and drama, are the bolded parts sarcasm?
  3. I'd join, but I'm already in united countries for good. Do you have a charter or... somethinganything? Good luck, if this is serious.
  4. Thank you for your answer. I believe all of us know covert operations have been a tactic used in war and in "peace" on Planet Bob since the beginning. The tactic of bringing an alliance down from the inside is certainly not a new one, and I admit to finding some of the outrage here over this point either naive or faked. I guess for me I don't see "covert ops" as the bottom line, or the ultimate consideration, especially since the operation got all screwed up. My only sticking point is why would TPF, on knowing what a mess was brewing behind the scenes when the doo hit the proverbial fan, would not have approached Athens last August. Just seems like common sense damage control. That not having been done is what still has my eyebrows raised a bit in disbelief. I trust still that this can be brought to some workable resolution, which is why I zero in on the need for a better sense of owning up to or regret from your alliance.
  5. Upon seeing the poll results, I see you were not the only one.
  6. Good point It makes it tough for anyone trying to weigh this to come down strongly on TPF's side. With some of the TPF defenders outright denying that Operation Zero Hour even happened beyond being a joke and the other half calling it part of the war and that it ended before the war was over, it makes sympathy with their position a little tough. Above all, I have yet to see any dedicated post indicating any sense of regret or remorse. I could understand that if this was FAN, but not here. Well, one of their gov said he was not sure how he felt about the plan as a tool of war at the end of one of his posts. I think that was in another thread.
  7. Just a bad joke. Sorry? This unfolding backstory business is tiresome and has led me to lose most interest in any details of the war. I'll admit, part of me hopes this mess crazies its way into an all-encompassing global conflict. Just to teach everyone some lessons. Another, more dominant part, just wants it over, since I think enough lessons have been learned already.
  8. We've certainly seen stranger. But at this point, it'd be nice to see the war wrapped up with the terms being the forced merge of TPF, TSI and ZH. edit: thanks MM, I missed TSI
  9. Oh my. Oh my. The Trojan War is what this should be called. I refer specifically to the Zero Hour horse, you dirty-minded people, you. As to the OP, it's hard to play IC when so many (see a recent thread on these forums) flat out refuse to draw any line between OOC and IC. But I salute you for trying and hope to do the same.
  10. It was not a mistake if we are talking about epeen "business as usual." It was a mistake since these two apparently do have real affection for each other. ADI is too much of a n00b to understand their place as part of a bloc. Ragnarok assumed ADI was smarter in foreign policy than they are. Surely, somewhere, some way, someone could see that neither of these mistakes in judgment automatically means this should be the end of the world as they knew it.
  11. Whatever happened to people learning from their mistakes? ADI made a mistake by making this post Ragnarok made a mistake by immediately cutting them loose That's what real friends do when things don't look right, they get emotional and act irrationally. I hope both alliances can work this out, and not be distracted by those posting here who only have their eyes focused on the current war, or on using this as an example to scare their own protectorates into further submission.
  12. Wise men put their trust in ideas and not in circumstances. (stolen from Emerson) Also, aren't you allied to the Sith?
  13. Indeed, the word has a definition, people just want to change it to suit their game-playing styles. Anything above two is just said random bloke's attempt to feel better about highway robbery, which is all that raiding is in the first place.
  14. Taken by itself, no matter what conflict is the topic, this is the best post I've had the fortune of reading on these forums yet.
  15. I, for one, am pleased to see the RIA did not succumb to the dark side. Lesson learned: never challenge a Sith Lord to a duel.
  16. It isn't all that bad. I started out seeing you as 100% in the wrong, now hovering somewhere around 70%, mostly thanks to King Srqt's posts here. It is a mess. Further, how could we miss seeing two Jedis disagree over this , which proves how complicated this issue is panning out to be.
  17. What I wrote actually is at the heart of this whole mess. Had the operation/alliance "Zero Hour" disbanded when the operation was "ended," TPF would not be in this war.
  18. If the operation ended, why does the alliance still exist? And why is it still using the same name? Sloppy covert ops, just sloppy, sloppy.
  19. What if the couple had built a house together? A house filled with bombs that was not even meant to be a house, but a ruse to blow up a neighbor? Yeah, this is why we hate these comparisons. :spelling:
  20. Reading all of this reminds me of what is or is not done with minefields after wars. Some nations help clean them up upon a war's conclusion, others continue to harbor some hostility even after "peace" and do nothing. It's a weak analogy since sleeper cells are much more dynamic than mines, but it still tells us a few things about war and peace and how people have vastly different ways of viewing the two.
  21. Speaking as someone who received no less than 20 alliance invitations within the first several hours of creating my nation, I could not help but wonder if a lot of alliances turn a blind eye to raiding since one thing raiding really does is force noobs into alliances and an alliance system they do not have the knowledge to navigate, let alone really understand. Talk about baptism by fire!
  22. But there are still four days to go!
