This declaration of war is solely for the purpose of achieving peace in the IRON-Gre Front. It's a sad day to see two former allies and friends and blocmates go to war against their ally. It was very honorable of OG to throw themselves into the fray to lessen the burden on their friends, even when told they could sit out. This makes me sad Good luck to our former allies, yet still friends, in Polaris (but not too much luck against GOD ) Sometimes things just lead up to a perfect storm and woe be to the friendships caught in its path.

[/quote] An MDoAP treaty with an alliance on the winning side carries the same weight as an MDoAP with an alliance on the losing side. While it is admirable for Polaris to support a beleaguered ally (and I still stand by my opinion that this was a net good move on their part), there are many forms of support (diplomatic, rebuilding, etc) that could have been exercised without disregarding the treaties of their allies on the larger side (though if Polaris would like to open a "third front" it would be a refreshing sight).

Also I don't understand people saying Aircastle is bandwagonning because their treaty was optional, not mandatory. If optional clauses were never meant to be exercised in the first place then people should only be signing MDP's and MADP's.

If that close a relationship was still iffy in importance then this post is just grasping at straws.

Actually that seems like asking for your two alliances to merge (or for TOP to absorb Rage Co., whatever) and I doubt there was that close-knit relationship between your two alliances that such a move requires.

That may or may not have been right, but I think that honor is not directly tied to right or wrong. Upholding the spirit of your treaty and riding with your friends into the valley of death is quite honorable indeed.

And when it comes right down to it, this is what will be (should be) remembered.

This is actually three offensive wars by one nation on three different nations rather than 3 defensive wars on one nation by 3 different nations so you can't take stagger into account

Personally, that's what I would have said had I been the one making the argument. However my alliance-mate's opinion was that it was aggressive and this was what he was arguing and I was simply clarifying his position using his words.

GOD's DoW was poorly worded, especially in hindsight. But just to lay some facts out there, they had a treaty way in due to their MADP with R&R who declared on you earlier that night.

He did not say that it was dishonorable. In fact, he stated that he agreed with Stonewall Jaxon's statement that you guys were NOT dishonorable. He merely expressed and clarified his opinion that your defense was in support of IRON's aggressive actions.

Non-chaining clauses make defense optional for a reason. If the chaining was never meant to be exercised then they should have written that off the treaty entirely. I see an alliance that opted to stand by their friends, despite the fact that they started a fight, until the end. If that's not brotherhood, I don't know what is. Kudos to NSO for upholding the true meaning of their treaty.

You're forgetting/overlooking that A. TOP can't engage Aircastle with all those overwhelming numbers B. Aircastle has focused itself on being extremely powerful for their strength range, sacrificing growth for relative power. At their level, I'd wager the TOP nations are in for a hell of a fight, though I'd say the Aircastle nations wouldn't be having too easy a time as well. C. Aircastle is focusing on TOP, TOP can't focus solely on Aircastle This is a hell of a fight. Have fun you two (though I wish Aircastle would have more fun )
