  1. Another alliance was just created on red; I'm sure that there will be many more.
  2. This has nothing to do with power. I have been forbidden from creating a red alliance for three years due to the tyranny of greed. Upon arrival on Bob, nations are obligated to align themselves to the color of their choosing; red should be a choice. Red shall be a choice. Akin to its namesake, the Red Cross shall be a humanitarian community of organized and honorable states. The time is now or never.
  3. On June 24, 1859 the Austrian and French armies clashed at Solferino, a town in northern Italy. After 16 hours of fighting, the battlefield was strewn with 40,000 dead and wounded men. That same evening Henry Dunant, a Swiss citizen, arrived in the area on business. He was horrified by what he saw: for want of adequate medical services in both armies, thousands of wounded soldiers were left to suffer untended, abandoned to their fate. Dunant immediately set about organizing care for them, without discrimination, helped by civilians from neighboring villages. On returning to Switzerland, Henry Dunant was unable to forget the terrible scenes he had witnessed. He decided to write "A Memory of Solferino" which he published at his own expense and circulated to friends, philanthropists, military officers, politicians and certain reigning families. The book was an immediate success. The Geneva Society for Public Welfare, a charitable association based in the Swiss city of the same name, decided to set up a five-member commission to consider how Henry Dunant's ideas might be implemented. This commission met on February 17 and founded the International Committee for Relief to the Wounded in time of war, which later became the International Committee of the Red Cross. Having established their Committee, the five founders set about ensuring that the ideas put forward in Dunant's book would become a reality. In response to their invitation, 16 States and four philanthropic institutions sent representatives to the International Conference which opened in Geneva. It was at that Conference that the emblem - a red cross on a white ground - was adopted and the Red Cross as an institution came into being. “Would it not be possible, in time of peace and quiet, to form relief societies for the purpose of having care given to the wounded in wartime by zealous, devoted and thoroughly qualified volunteers?” “On certain special occasions, as, for example, when princes of the military art belonging to different nationalities meet (...), would it not be desirable that they should take advantage of this sort of congress to formulate some international principle, sanctioned by a Convention inviolate in character, which, once agreed upon and ratified, might constitute the basis for societies for the relief of the wounded?” The first of these ideas led to the creation of the National Red Cross (and, later, Red Crescent) Societies, and the second to the development of modern international humanitarian law, which first found written expression in the Geneva Convention. A parallel history unfolds... Let it be known that the formation of the Red Cross is now underway.
  4. Unreal. At the end of the day, I hope that every alliance that has entered/enters this war remains and that (once and for all) CN will recognize the right for everyone to enjoy CyberNations without persecution through EZI/PZI practices.
  5. It was posted there when I saw it and I'm not the only person in this thread who has mentioned witnessing that.
  6. Wow. Just wow. Way to stick to agreements that mean something MHA, this decision couldn't have been an easy one and congrats to you for your resolve.
  7. My race is not important here but there certainly was child porn on the old GOONs forums; I witnessed it in the thread for those who they needlessly attacked. @Sal, can we keep the flaming to a minimum here please?
  8. GOONS nearly destroyed this game by creating a culture with no respect, immaturity, constant trolling, MODgate, chasing hundreds of players from the game, initiating a "never-ending" war with FARK and constant bullying. They are as bad as racists from Stormfront except they throw child-pornography on their home forums. Irrelevant? Ancient grudges? Try standards.
  9. You tried to ZI me for telling Dilber that he doesn't control the CN forums. You attacked an innocent nation to try to lure my bloc into war. You supported the posting of illegal pornography on your home forums. I nuked 4 of your strongest nations. And, worst of all, you tried to censure what was said on the CN forums. If you screw up this much *makes an inch with his fingers*, just this much, you'll be flying cargo planes full of rubber dog !@#$ to Hong Kong. Seriously though, its nice to see a community returning but Bob to take you seriously you better tread extremely carefully.
  10. Please supply more such wonderful pictures as beautiful women shooting arrows.
  11. Yeah, that's been tried before. Two examples. I was in GUARD during GW2/3; the THIRD LARGEST BLOC remained neutral and it accomplished NOTHING. It gained us no friends, no internal comradery, nothing. The GPA remained neutral forever and obtained the highest alliance ranking. Guess what? They were destroyed. Participation in events such as these promotes activity, gets your members talking, builds communities, and gets more aid flowing after the end of the war. Neutrality accomplishes nothing. Aside from the Grey Council, no one does it very well.
  12. So, even though there'll probably be a war which will be the biggest we've seen since the GWs, you are content to sit idly by while the Cyberverse experiences a revolution of monumental proportions.. and do nothing? Would you suppose that, after doing nothing, when the New World takes shape you would like to entertain a position of respect and benefit? How will remaining neutral accomplish any of this? (aside from preserving infra and abandoning a back bone, that is)
  13. You have done more than you know mighty Ivan; part of the reason for Bob's problems, is that harsh surrender terms are now the norm rather than the exception. If the powers at be were to respect gentlemanly conflict, instead of using its opposite as tyranny to manipulate the unsteady grappling of their thrones, this planet shall flourish again. Without your efforts, great ruler, the Cyberverse would never have experienced its Golden Age; I believe this world will soon experience one again.
  14. Congratulations for your honorable display! I hope more alliances like your's soon rise to the top of the powerbase.
  15. Declarations of Neutrality are toothless and show that the articulating alliance has no resolve; I know, I was a neutral for two years. So, you don't want to make any enemies? Think that you'll gain an infra/alliance statistical bonus from staying out of the war? Want to have "good" relations with everyone? Sorry mate, neutrality doesn't accomplish any of these things.
  16. Signed; good idea Nintenderek. Now can we start a petition to make BringMetheHorizon's sig the new logo of CN?!?!?
  17. This wise person has won the thread. I can't believe that they expect us to fall for this stuff all the time.
  18. Wow, so you guys can like, dress yourselves for school in the morning now? And you want to be congratulated for that? I swear that every moment I spend on Bob only leads to more confusion. Congratulations to the alliance of GATO for being able to act like an alliance, or something-like-that, I guess.
  19. Why are you guys so fricken awesome? Best alliance on Bob that I've seen since the NAAC.
  20. I'd applaud you but you guys have taken a ridiculously long time to realize common sense; nonetheless, at least it is a start in a smart direction.
  21. In the case of Johnathan Brookbank it nearly was. Now, how many circumstances have arisen that were similar to this but weren't ever communicated publicly? In nearly three years of existence, I've witnessed many people PZI'd for questionable reasons and very few released from it; I'm sure that I'm not alone in having witnessed these matters.
  22. Wow; many people, including myself, have never been on any ZI list. You're incorrect. Furthermore, I believe that you'll find that many CN players who have been around for years are disproportionately against EZI/PZI because of the harmful impact that it has had on our community and its blatant OOC intent.
