  1. okay, so let me get this straight... bad rpers rped badly years ago... and this means that i'm wrong. lol
  2. >my rp has issues fix them, then, and stop making excuses for bad rp. >other people aren't good rpers this is not an excuse for you to not be a good rper. --- seriously. no matter what you say, the problem is going to come down to bad rp or making excuses to continue being a bad rper. because that's the actual problem. it's why splitting us into a billion rps will never fix it. because it's the same people who don't understand that the nations they play doing better or worse should have zero OOC impact on them other than enjoying the storyline.
  3. but... of course... if we simply tried to RP better, we would leave OOC shit completely at the door, and we would more perfectly RP the nations we're RPing in their environments as they would exist in a world hence why "rp better" is the only option everybody just needs to stop letting the OOC factor into their IC decisions and should instead as individuals seek to - for their nation - replicate everything as accurately as possible, including, ideally, with collaboration from other players as to the likelihood of their scenarios actually happening.
  4. no, that attitude is the problem. it is a rp, not a competition. people are way too attached to their nations and to specific storylines in their head and that's what causes the shitty behavior that makes the rp bad. what makes the rp good is collaboration, but collaboration can really only take place in an atmosphere that promotes it. if everybody decided to say "hey, you know what, i'm going to rp regardless of the consequences and not be a shit about things" the RP would be transformed and the culture that we have here would be much more positive. no, you all treat it like you have to win, and the competition devolves until everybody hates each other and nobody trusts anyone except people they know OOC also take this shit way too seriously and thus wouldn't turn on them because of the OOC friendship. but, in reality, the OOC realm should have nothing to do with our foreign affairs. it will, and that's okay, because IRL things happened that were not immediately obvious based on personal relationships or whims and other things that are not replicated in the RP, such as public opinion. but it crosses a line at OOC manipulation for IC means - not IC collaboration because of OOC trust.
  5. this sounds like an issue that could be resolved by players making a conscious decision to rp better
  6. "Let it be done deliberately on a case-by-case basis."
  7. what if we compromise? 20/25 of our nuke points will come from just having the wonders and the other half will come from the actual nukes themselves in peace time, we get a 40/50 point bonus to our navies, whereas we have a bare minimum of 20/25 even if at war this both elevates the nuke-having nations over the non-nuke-having nations AND preserves the elevation of neutrals over the rest of the RP based on their nation sizes
  8. "No. Not an enemy, just no longer part of the organization and unable to return. It is a ban."
  9. "Negotiations to resolve that crisis are currently underway. We are hoping for peaceful resolution, as there was with your nation and Alaska."
  10. "If you bail in war, you don't get to come back. This pact decides the future of our children. To act in accordance with the council must be mandatory."
  11. "We disagree strongly with having leaders in this organization. Here is our modified proposal: Additionally, I think that a fifth term could read like this: Thoughts?"
  12. "What kind of organization would that be?"
  13. Detached from civilization, the Count and his regime decided it would be best to consult the old maps and send out messengers to important cities in Europe. Messengers have arrived in Gibraltar, Genoa, and Lübeck. By the time they arrived, the assimilation of northern Cataluña was complete.
  14. The conference began! "Good evening. We are here to discuss the future of the Americas. Any thoughts?"
  15. [Private] The CNRA troops would find going south impossible, and frankly, useless given the rate of speed at which the Rike was arriving. Those who were to abandon their posts went north, while those left behind dug in and began concentrating on defense and the logistics thereof. The carrier group was to place itself strategically so as to prevent Nordisk detachment toward the continental CNRA or through the Davis Strait past Nuuk. Two reconnaissance planes were sent to shadow the Nordisk Rike fleet. Anti-submarine warfare tactics were used and radars were scanning. A message was sent to the Nordisk Rike: --- [Private] The second carrier group off the French coast, upon nearing the Atlantic, began to attack the coast of Galicia. The unprepared militia-based armies of the Galician countryside were variously slaughtered or taken captive within just a few hours, and the province was declared part of the Confederacy. [1/7]
  16. if it was there in 1066, it is there now, unless you want to do it differently. i don't see much of a difference between building passes or having them already there except how you do your story, and that's up to you. just don't use it to god-mod or break immersion (ie. a 7 mile high wall around your entire nation made of steel-coated penises) and you'll be fine
  17. tbh i'm cool with it they've presented a scenario for you. that's normal gm behavior. plus, it says in the rules that white space has military presence. still, if both dillon and mogar really hate the idea, it would be a nice gesture to say "alright fine we won't do it"
  18. there are three possibilities; you want me to keep it along the coast?
  19. [Private] Given the Cascadian idiots had already attempted to aid enemies of the Confederacy, and given that they already had international news coverage over the train "rescue", an internal investigation will report that there was a cover-up from infiltrators in Vermont to help the Cascadian government get away with their misdeeds. There will be a small purge of the military in Vermont, and the Cascadian diplomat and soldiers within the Confederacy will be held captive until negotiations with the Cascadian Emperor could happen. [Public] News reports show that an internal investigation revealed a cover-up from infiltrators in the Vermont militias. They were trying to let Cascadia get away with funding rebels in our lands. We have taken their infiltrators hostage. Without regard to the above, we unequivocally back Japan in their quest to save Alaska from the encroaching Cascadians.
  20. While the movements toward Iceland had raised some suspicion, it was not until news came of a departure toward Greenland that the Confederates actually thought there would be an invasion force. By this time, it was several hours after the capture of Nuuk, and the Confederates had entrenched themselves in the city center and surrounding metropolitan area. To the north there was little but ice, but several important settlements remained to the south on this side of the island. It would be toward the south that the Confederates were preparing to advance to when news came in of their departure and a message sent soon after. At this time, the second carrier group stationed off the French coast would be called into the Atlantic, en route to reinforce the Confederate presence in Greenland. A reply was sent: The carrier group positioned itself strategically and all Confederate forces took appropriate defensive countermeasures in case of a Nordic attack. Still, the Confederate ground forces were making advancements.
  21. In the wake of the plague was left a fractured and scarred Iberian peninsula. The great Muslim Empire quickly retreated with its upper classes, leaving the peasantry and upper crust of Christian society to weather the storm alone. Many of the fledgling societies fell as entire villages were wiped from the earth, but the County of Barcelona managed to survive with 70% of its population. Having quickly expanded into the wastes surrounding it, the Count felt it in his interest to secure the northern border of Cataluña, sending half of his army to Roussillon to pick up the pieces. On their way, they found that some of the settlements were already starting to show major encroachment by the wilderness, and in just a few years it would be hard to tell that anyone had lived there at all. Still, there was life; life that was not keen on being subsumed into the domain of Barcelona. After some fighting, the main settlement of the area was captured, and soon after, peace treaties were negotiated and the area was to be drawn up into the Barcelonian province of Northern Cataluña; complete with nobility from the south and a levy of taxes to pay the families of those lost in the conquering.
  22. Just so you know, both sides of Constantinople count as a single province in CK:2, and therefore, for our purposes, they count as a single province.
