  2. Funny even being an ex-member I just noticed that your flag is based upon [ooc]the city of Chicago's flag[/ooc] with the stars on the side. But congrats to the new government and good luck.
  3. horizontal progression kills a game. you want vertical progression in a game. i would say that it is now easier to get to the 30k NS marker than it was before, while being harder to get to say the 50k marker. nukes are easily accessible as are spies. so admin has to progress the higher tier on a vertical level. if it was across the board then the game would become stagnate at the upper tiers with nothing to work for. nations with moon/mars colony are awaiting the next big thing to move on for to make their nations better. i agree with Hal when he says that new content has to be released otherwise people will quit and the game will become dull. you need a target to shoot for. for an MMO this holds true too. on the game final fantasy XI there is little to no reason to get <X> piece of gear over <x> piece of gear because it's not a visible upgrade because the game is designed to be "balanced" for everyone no matter what aspect of endgame you do. doing it this way only leaves people focusing on one specific section while the hardcore players are just doing the content for minimal upgrades and the story of whats going on. however, in world of warcraft there is a reason to replace <x> item with <x> item because it is a visible upgrade pushing your character up the progression scale while new items are released with new content so more people are trying to get to that content rather than working on the old content.
  4. Because we all know you ban-evaded. No he's not. He posted threads on both Polar and Pacific forums asking why he was banned. Coincidentally these were the channels he tried to hack into. He knew exactly where to go and it was with in a SHORT time frame that he posted those threads. Usarkar even created a dummy account on our forums because we banned his account and the account that he used to spy on us with. He was on IRC when he was banned. This thread was made within 2 hours of Usarkar being banned. His story is filled with lies that create huge holes. He even now has admitted that his script and remotes weren't the cause of this. His lies aren't adding up. He is not innocent we have an IRC mod/admin confirming what he did because the server locked him out after 5 failed attempts. Stop buying his lies.
  5. It's ok we'll make sure to do damage for you guys as well. Oh I forgot one thing: Scripts much like calculators only do what they're programmed and told to do. I'm not really a computer-wiz, but anyone with some remote knowledge of technology knows that unless something is being manipulated that computers of any sort will only do what they're told by the user. The same goes for software for software.
  6. Fran the huge hole in his story is that he hadn't used the remote in 9 months and the remote was also doing it to NPO channels not just NpO channels. So it couldn't be a script like he said it was. A script wouldn't try to join or brute force it's way into a channel unless you made a script do that.
  7. [02:21] <IRCcop> This is Coldfront. I know my way around scripts. This was not a script going haywire. Coldfront values it's users privacy and security.
  8. And we'd call baloney on your apology just like we did when you spied on us.
  9. Big Red Machine, standing by. [ooc]expecting a Reds fan to say that's not the big red machine[/ooc] Also am I the only one disappointed by someone not say New Pacific Order, standing by? With all the red references I surely thought SOMEONE would have gone there. Also a big o/ for USN for losing some luggage.
  10. Well according to the statistics the Citadel isn't just a survivalist alliances as they post the biggest gains as a bloc while denying that they're growing at all. So if they were just survivalist alliances aren't they dieing by their own claims? So I think it's time that Frostbite declares on Citadel to help pull the metaphorical plug.
  11. I had a good laugh over this. Thank you for reminding me of that incident of the coup that happened.
  12. No we mustn't high five or else Citadel will think TOOL and Frostbite are going to declare war on the entire Citadel.
  13. I see you willingly gave up with out me having to further express my dislike for any sort of situation involving CN Halloween. However, let it be known that I still do not like the halloween costumes!
  14. )): Kzoppistan )): Stealin' mah costume. In nature of HeinousOne I can not simply let this stand.
  15. Which is exactly why I picked you. I want to be you.
  16. Now you're just putting words in my mouth. In direct democracies the only real value is the opinion of the majority. No one really sits in a seat above anyone else to decide if the majority is ever wrong so in practice the majority of a direct democracy is always right. You must remember that in a direct democracy it's the body that runs the alliance there are no elected officials. Which again leads me to point out that the majority isn't always right hell you could have a 2% lead in an opinion poll, but that still doesn't make the majority right because there will be 49% to say otherwise. This is definitely where direct democracies start to fail because you start creating a rift in members because there is no one to determine which side is truly right or wrong. Yes a collective whole the response should be the majority but again that doesn't mean the decision is always right because there is always a percentage of the body that will say otherwise unless for some reason no one picks the second option which creates a definite decision. Also if you noted I was talking to the OP rather than commentators in this thread. The OP was a member of Polaris when he made the thread. I commented the thread. I talked about something that maybe the OP read.
  17. The thread was no where near a non-Polar member could see. Unless he had people to corroborate with him. Also as Random said the piece argued that direct democracies don't work. Which again I entirely agree with. Democracies do work in an indirect fashion. I mean look at Fark I would entirely say for an indirect democracy Fark works really well. What's boggling a lot of us members of Polar is how was this suppose to incite a revolution with in the alliance? [OOC] Was it to spur the US Polaris member's patriotic gland into IC territory to remove Grub from his seat of power in a game?[/ooc] Having goals isn't a bad thing what so ever, but I'm just failing to understand how this plan was going to work here. He was a member of Polaris that was trying to start his career in Polaris by going through the Ministry of Peace.
  18. I said in that thread that Direct Democracies are an atrocity and don't work on Bob and real life. The process just takes too long for the speed and volatility of politics. No offense to the direct democracies out there on Bob, but the system just fails in execution because sometimes the majority isn't always right while the response time can be detrimental to the alliance (insert a TOP speed meme here).
