Jerdge, you're over-explanation is spoiling dane0's funny. Do it again we'll have no choice but to turn GPA into the Grey Council.

Also, join Non Grata. You know you want to.

By now the GPA is above and beyond everything, it's metaphysics, inescapable material. As such it can't be turned into the Grey Council and, at the same time, it's already the Grey Council.

NG is the aggressive neutral in my book, but the concept of joining implies the one of moving, which is intrinsically waaaaay too much effort for this old fool.

I would anyway accept the title of honorary member, at the condition that I am not expected to do anything (not even remember about it).

Ah yes, we had all forgotten what an odoap was and why people signed them. Thank you for grave digging the thread 2 weeks later to tell us all WC!

She admitted that Pacifica didn't need it, while the DBDC...

It's not entirely superfluous, although I can't imagine any reason... I'd talk of... for it. It's a bit weird, yes. But not a standard kind of weird.

I believe there is a NSFW section in the NG Discord for that type of thing, Hoo.

    Flash not flash.

(Now that you have to capitalize the first letter makes it kinda difficult to explain, but... Oh well let's try again:

    Not flash, Flash.

    Much better!)

I can't believe there are still five or 6 sanctioned alliances that I have been part of. And two that sent me to zero infrastructure. Temp, not permanent, although since I figure I haven't logged in to my nation in five years, probably more.

Man, i joined FAN to fight the NPO when FAN was sentenced to permanent zeroing.

Good times. I doubt there are 5 people on here who remember me.

I remember your name. I don't remember anymore why or how I knew you - memory, age... - but it was you.

    Edit: probably around 2008?...

but not half as mad as me and I've had quite enough of your rational thinking! your desire for self-preservation. flinching from the flame rather than accepting it's warm embrace. seeing things as they are instead of as they are not. saving for the end instead of ending for the save. reacting in kind instead of being kind in reacting. holding on to what you can instead of what you can't.

It sickens me. This sanity is insane. We were well taught but never learned.
To go forward you must go back. So this is what I'll do. I'll leave the sanity up to you.
As of now I lay down my crown. You've all been great and that I can't take.  The Dark Lord Sauron leads us now. HHOOOWWWLLLLL!

    a Mad Man

I must protest my sanity: I see things as they could be - and as they shouldn't be - and that warms my desire to preserve myself, my time, by ending everything, before it even starts.

You've been mad, true, but only until today. Welcome to the right side.

    Condolences to DLS.

  6. Apologizing sincerely when you did wrong is always a good thing, as it's trying to make amendments.

Leaving CN is soooo often a good thing, too! In your own interest, and regardless of whatever course of events caused you to leave, stick to your decision and never look back.

    Farewell.

    (This is purely OOC.)

  7. Double post because, mobile site...

When some/many players solicited/demanded action from the Mods, in those few cases we saw some consequences. If most of the community applied social pressure (on an OOC/RL level) we'd probably be effective, too, but that almost never happened, if it ever happened at all. Again, treaties and pixels, because almost no one actually cares about the RL-IG divide.

When does the community finally say enough is enough while the mods & admin do nothing to enforce their own rules about vicious OOC attacks?

This should never have happened, to JA or otherwise. Attacking someone for RL problems they are dealing with is as low as you can go, full stop. This is supposed to be a place for people to get away from their RL problems, not to be targeted. This is why I've always refused to share personal details with this community because it has been an ongoing event since I first rolled and, contrary to Jerdge's opinion of "let the mods deal with it" I've never seen satisfactory action taken to remove those types of people from this game. Not once. They leave when they get bored and find a new game to harass people there.

Your description of what (although not always) usually happens is basically accurate.
It has to be added that the community as a whole never really did anything substantial either. IG action in particular has almost always been lacking - because treaties and pixels - and when there has been any it didn't accomplish anything.

  9. Or, the Mods should do their work and handle off-game offences?

    Wild thought, I know.

"OOC attacks" are RL awful, IG consequences are absurd and ineffective. RL offences should be met with RL consequences and that should be all. I've been saying this for well over a decade now. It's beyond me why this discussion never ends.

Okay I'm just venting. Again, please carry oon

All those moments lost in time, posts in vain.

Memory sometimes makes the favour of discarding entire chunks of itself into oblivion, so that we can spend our present time in something actually good for ourselves, while also having a chance to forget about all the time we lost with those vain posts...

  11. I have absolutely no idea of what was said, and TBH I don't have the time to care about it.

While I don't expect that anyone will agree IMO it needs to be said that, in abstract and general terms, alliances have no actual meaning in RL and they should not have a role in it. An alliance's representative posting an apology (or any other kind of statement) about an "OOC attack" is simply absurd in my eyes.

    Please carry on.
