    Hello moderators,

I have a question? how do I apply to become a moderator for Cyber Nations?

I don't know how and I don't know why one could possibly want to.

Though I must applaud you for thus far keeping the war conventional. Never really liked the fact that since I've been playing nukes were a given and don't really mean much as far as escalation goes.

In conflicts of long ago, before the introduction of the Manhattan Project Wonder, when nukes were rare, the stronger side usually punished the few enemy nations using them.

With MPWs and when nukes had proliferated the MK ended that practice (creatively, I might say).

Even the GPA has now been considering them 'just weapons" for well over a decade.

That's what they are, in my opinion. I too consider them a given and I think that's the right thing to do.

  3. Doomhouse, that's the only original one in my book. The Everything Must Die line proved wrong and it probably wasn't sincere in the first place, but the acting was true stuff, the play was honest and the entertainment real... and bear in mind that I didn't even particularly like most of them.

Of course, probably the most of you readers have no idea of what I'm always blabbering about...

You clearly weren't looking hard enough, although I do admit it can be a somewhat tricky learning experience for some.

I found him a couple of days later, I maintain that he wasn't there the first time I went to look for him.

However it's true that my incentives to learn discord are basically non existent.

Damn allies - You can’t live with them, you can’t live without them.

Maybe you can't live with certain allies but I can assure you that you could definitely live without allies. This is an easy world, you only need friends and freedom, allies are not necessary.

That Shark week didn't have a DoW. I've never been trusted with doing a DoW because I'd make it a story rather than an ironic statement of how totally chillax we be about the sitch really bro. That one didn't really have communication from gov, either, and I dislike that you're underestimating my abilities to make bad jokes.

Guess the Shark Week is in the eye of the beholder. Of course, Stewie and I are not involved with this Shark Week, so you have a fair point there.

I don't know you very well but I'm ready to trust you on your word about your jokes capabilities, for good or for bad as they may be.

I miss Stewie's presence here, btw. I gather that he managed to get banned, I don't know anything about the case thus I have no opinion on whether he really deserved it, but I wish he'd be allowed back (if he too wanted it ofc).

This is unspecific. Are you wanting the exact ingredients of our chum? It's just fishheads, although Caustic contributes a certain something. All of us are scared to ask him what it is.

The question is simple: what's a shark week, exactly. I already have a general idea of the thing.

Mine is just genuine curiosity and nothing else. I'm not holding my breath, anyway.

Seems you have a strong grasp on NG culture.

I think I've been knowing them for over a decade. Caustic generally is more helpful than this but I don't complain, it's just a question, not a life or death situation.

Objectively speaking he is right tbf.

Neutrality isn't everyone's jam but I can see the appeal of not having a strong opinion on anyone one way or another. Just following truths instead of bias and party lines pushed from an ivory tower designed to serve other people's agendas (Merge and assimilate like a puffer fish does to make itself seem bigger, take a whole year to form a coalition to guarantee a curbstomp victory- or do nothing if that cannot be guaranteed while you watch members drift off to the realm of inactivity)

It's really quite nice and liberating to play this way if I'm honest (not that I'm 'playing' anymore but ygm)

I'm not sure how neutrality per se has anything to do with slot efficiency, however I'm happy to make yet another pointless post about it, and my take on it.

To me neutrality meant not to support any external party, not to be indifferent to any of them (although I am indifferent to most of them).

When I cared about CN I used to have pretty strong opinions, I just didn't air them, unless doing so served me or my friends.

And yes, not having to get into all the stuff you briefly alluded to is liberating.

dude it is real weird the way you have chosen to play this game.

The game as CN or the game as what's going on in this thread?

I can't tell if you're actually serious, trolling, or just flat out missed my entire point. Standard Jerdge.

The second one, which doesn't exclude the third one. It was difficult to tell by design.

    (I wasn't trolling you, BTW.)

(I'll get back to JA's post later. Maybe.)

a whopping 20 slots shared between what... 150 nations? I would certainly hope you can manage that. Oh wait... 37.5% efficiency. Maybe not?

They can fill OC's slots exactly because they have a lot of free slots themselves. Were they at 100% efficiency they wouldn't have slots to use with OC.

Glad to have cleared it for you.

  10. My uneducated explanation is much simpler: this game exceedingly rewards seniority and there's no attrition or disincentive that goes against just staying there, doing little or nothing for any long period of time.

The seniors grew up but they didn't all leave the game, their interest for the game faded but they remained attached to their old big nations and alliances. They built a cluster of treaties to freeze everything they could, they have no incentive to put their old nations and alliances at risk. With time almost everyone became senior, and here you are.

If there was some mechanism that made stats disappear with time you'd see real action again. Good luck having anything like that implemented into the game, though. I won't hold my breath. (And I'm one of those seniors that moved on, anyway. Or though.)

  11. ChimaJunkaTywiZigur has been accused of many things but this is the first time I hear he'd be crypto fascist.

I understand the fun that can be found in making light of his too often absurd discourses, but... it lacks gentleness. Gentleness which - and yes and apologies: I know that I'm going out on a limb with this - is something he'd be in dire need to be shown and to experience.

Beware, do not create your little personal Goldstein. Keep watch on yourselves.

(But what do I know, anyway?)

I was wondering when someone would bring that up

But then the Doomreich protecting its own even in defiance of convention shouldn't surprise anyone that's paying attention. Assuming anyone at all is alive out there that still cares about such things.

Most days I have my doubts

Bragging and bickering over war results is just as exciting as it was five thousand days ago, which by the way is roughly the same era in which actual conventions were effectively purged from this place.

But I still care, I'm that old fashioned.

Are you suggesting she's a natural bootlicker?

I'm saying that her mentors, at least the ones I think she was alluding to, were way too arrogant to credibly flatter anyone. If you want to be nice you can say that I'm implying that they weren't without merits.

    Incidentally, licking boots isn't natural.
