1. I'm pretty sure I can buy tech in game at 6mil/50, without needing to send that money to a seller and waste slots. What kind of trash is that? btw just pretend I made my normal rant here about how tech dealing in general is killing the game, making sure new nations never catch up, and how without it more people would be willing to give charity to new members.
 2.
I'm trying to destroy you from within, don't you realize that?
I guess turning Ardus's ego into a black hole is one way to destroy MK. Probably more clever than most other plans floating around out there.
 3.
Oh yea well I think you're boring!
As long as you keep taking my money I don't care what you think of me
 4.
See Brehon, this is how it's done. Leak logs next time.
But logs are boring, and illicit a tl;dr response from me, and I'm sure others. The OP was far better imo.
 5.
Erm, yase. "We're only attacking the ghosts" Very nice.
I believe we did admit to attacking two real members. I never saw confirmation of anyone else we hit being anything but a ghost to be honest :colbert: Now seriously, generic propaganda and making fun of them for having a lot of ghosts (which they themselves had admitted was a problem long before) is hardly a huge humiliation. If anything MHA is coming out for the better from this war, as they finally start taking a handle on problems that have plagued their alliance for years. Sparta on the other hand... lol
 6.
Demanding tech deals from an alliance you went out of your way to humiliate is pretty bad.
I'm sorry, did I miss the part where we went out of our way to humiliate them beyond the attack itself and some generic propaganda? It's like we're talking about two totally different wars here.
 7.
Demands on MHA were messed up.
The terrible term of asking for tech deals. In fact, we are so evil we'll probably tech deal with them anyway!
 8.
You know...I was thinking this but wasn't going to say it. But since you said it...I might as well bandwagon.
So what timeframe should I put your bet down for?
 9. So who wants to get the betting pool started on how long it takes this group of fine gentlemen to up and leave this time? I figure about a week after any war they have a chance of being involved in.
 10.
I think you'd end up with two problems. The first being finding people willing to re-engage (which wouldn't be extremely hard I don't guess). The next thing to deal with would be what Umbrella would say. I don't think they'd like it very much. I'm just guessing though.
Voting this post for understatement of the year 2012.
 11.
I haven't seen any threads by FAN or Fark complaining about the war continuing
Of course they're not complaining about the war continuing, they're the ones keeping the war going.
so maybe NPO should do more to convince Fark/FAN they are losing by beating them on the battlefield, rather than trying to convince the OWF of that with threads like this.
Except statistics don't lie. Fark and FAN have been annihilated this war. FARK has lost more tech than all but a handful of alliances ever had. They have lost more than half of their nation strength. They have been defeated, they just don't want to admit it. The alternate possibility is they no longer care about their own nations and want to continue nipping at the NPO's lower ranks causing more damage where they can until their warchests run out. In which case NPO is fully justified for demanding reparations for the extra weeks this war has been drawn out for no reason.
 12.
Seerow it wouldnt matter if we blew through MK you still wouldnt give us any credit. So really take your hate put it in a pipe smoke it and keep holding it in so you can stay warm this winter.
If Valhalla actually managed to ream MK 1v1 I'd give you guys all the credit due. But I don't see that happening. I'm sure within the next year it takes for a major war to show up, you guys will already have forgotten what experience you got out of this, and be whining about how you're rusty, have new players with no war experience, and RL issues getting in the way.
 13.
The first part is why this thread is necessary, imo. The longer this goes on for, the greater the likelihood there is of Fark/FAN playing victim in order to swing public opinion (e.g. claiming another VietFAN). This thread shows that they remain at war by their own choice. As for the idea mentioned earlier in the thread of increasing the tech per person to be demanded as reps for each day the war continues: The problem with this is that each day would perversely increase the cost of agreeing to peace. So while the threat of increasing reps is an incentive to agreeing to peace, there would presumably come a point at which the cost of the reps to be paid would outweigh the cost of remaining at war.
Well the idea behind the specific reps I suggested is that for every 5 days they remain at war (assuming no DRAs, because I'm lazy), they end up with 10 days worth of reparations. This is encouragement to exit quickly. If they hold the war for a month, they'll be spending two months paying for it. But if they quit in the first 5 days, they can be done paying almost instantly. If you wanted to make it a more even trade off, make it 50 tech per 2 days instead of per day. Yes, it does assume 100% compliance. But the beauty of charging tech per nation is you can enforce the terms on a per nation basis. Any nation who refuses to pay their share goes back to war until they start paying.
 14.
The mechanics of the game haven't changed, but the community and the politics have changed plenty. If we blame the mechanics of the game for the community's problems, that's just ridiculous.
The community has evolved to fit the mechanics. People amass huge warchests because they work. They sit in peace mode because they can. People have tons of treaties because the tried and true method of CN is bring more numbers at your opponent than they can bring against you. Warchests could be discouraged by providing more things to buy, or penalizing people who sit on too much money rather than using it. Treaties wouldn't be seen as so necessary if a lone alliance had a chance. People might not sit in peace mode while on the losing side of war if there was more incentive for them to come out and help. People might spy more if the spying obtained more important/relevant information, rather than just maybe having a chance of hearing some rumors that you were going to hear anyway. These are things that largely could be addressed with game mechanics that are designed with the intent of encouraging players to act the way you want. Yes, they are also things the community COULD do, but that will only happen if you get 100% support from the community. If everyone agrees "No more warchests" but one alliance says "No we're going to keep our warchests" ruins it. Or a few alliances agreeing and then not following through (because how do you make sure? Spy on everyone in the game?) results in those few having a huge advantage. Telling people to not go to peace mode so they can take more damage is similarly a self destructive act, of dubious benefit to the community. Basically, you expect the community to come together as a single cohesive unit and act in a way that is not selfish. This is incredibly naive.
 15.
It should be at least 100. We are getting a ton of tech from this tech raid, and if we only have to pay 50 tech per day, it's more economically advantageous to keep the war going.
I missed this post earlier. Much like how you missed the suggestion was 50 tech per nation per day. I highly doubt every member of your alliance is gaining 50 tech per day from their wars. But if they are.... I want to know how
 16.
Usually, agreeing with both Krack and Myth is a very very bad thing, but this topic was really Un-nessicary. Everyone on your side already agrees with you, and FAN, FARK, and Sparta aren't going to decide to quit just because they had a mean OWF topic made about them. So, why did you do this exactly?
For the entertainment of people not directly involved with the conflict, or government? The forums need more topics like this, not less.
 17.
I'm finding it difficult to argue with this.
This is why I should have been an evil dictator.
 18. Why wait for next war? They clearly preempted you, and you won. They don't appreciate the white peace offers, I say start adding on 50 tech per member for every day they avoid taking peace.
 19.
MK WOULD WIN ON A FINAL POSSESSION DRIVE BY TIM TEBOW
This is an underrated post.
 20.
is that all i am to you people? a wall of text generator?
Yes, and you're about a month overdue for delivering one. I'm pretty sure you've got at least one backlogged. Let's have em.
 21.
What are the odds on which embassy Ardus would write a WoT about the split?
I'll put 50 tech on GOD's embassy, just for irony's sake.
 22.
Demoralized and broken, both parties merge into GOONS after the conflict comes to a close.
This is a winning solution. btw you're welcome Daikos. I was afraid I'd waited too long and hit post 7 instead of 6.
 23. This topic assumes Umbrella would fight in a war.
 24.
Honestly, you didn't get our best game. Part of sitting out so long means that you have experienced players who need to refresh themselves with the subtleties of combat system and in the process they bleed money. We had a few people that had RL issues and sat out, including at least a couple of vet players. We also had a significant percentage of nations that either had no combat experience or only had combat experience through fighting off a nuke rogue for a round or two (which also costs money). We were indeed in the middle of a MP drive, and an accompanying SDI drive. There's more but that's being addressed internally. We won, we coordinated well for the most part, we kicked asses (example: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=208497 who started the war at well over 100k NS and at one point was ZIed or darn near), but there's always room for improvement. Side note from the trench eye view: GOD opponent I fought (the example above) coordinated a couple of times with the RIA nations he was sent to help (they never coordinated), but otherwise was pretty much on his own. Indeed I kept expecting to see more GOD nations coming in but they never arrived. I found out later why in part--RL bug hit you too. I'm not entirely sure why GOD didn't come in the same night as RIA, that would have made your attack much more effective and prevented our upper tier nations from picking and choosing targets in RIA the first night to pound on (actually we sorta ran out of targets...). Also, tell your people when they start losing to mute the table talk or whatever that was. Our reactions to it ranged from laughter to shrugs to annoyance. Back to the example, he seemed like a pleasant enough fellow at first, but at some point he turned a bit...Charlie Sheen-ish? I dunno, I've been where he was and probably said a few things I shouldn't have said but his attitude was pretty poor and he wasn't the only one that got that way.
That sure is a lot of excuses for an alliance that you rated as 'elite'.
 25.
Also if I write an actual dissertation, can you guys vouch for me that 5-7 paragraphs is enough? I'm going to need back up.
I prefer novelette size. Just have it shipped to me.
