Craigslist Congressman

Representative Christopher Lee of New York (26th) has resigned his office. Apparently, he had an ad on Craigslist in the "Man seeking woman" section that included a shirtless picture. Side note: he's actually pretty fit for a Congressman. Here's the problem: he has a wife (and a son to boot). Good luck with that Mr. Lee

P.S. Can you guess what party he is in?

Good. I don't really care about the moral implications, but you have to be an idiot to put a face pic on craigslist when you are a public figure who is in a situation where you wouldn't want people to know you were doing it. There is no way you aren't going to get caught and anyone who isn't intelligent enough to realize this shouldn't be running the country.

Thank God there have never been similar scandals involving politicians with the Democratic Party.

The difference is that Democrats spend far less time drumming about family values as a party (family values meaning pro-fidelity, pro-life, anti-gay, etc) compared to Republicans as a party. This hypocritical element is what separates Democratic sex scandals from Republican sex scandals.

What both have in common, however, is that a family is usually shattered. That is the sad part and I feel bad for the families involved in these things. The actual perpetrators however are unworthy of sympathy. It's their own damn fault.

Also, something I left out, it was a 3-hour spread from the breaking of the story to the Congressman resigning. That's pretty fast.

Not on the same level, for every Rangle there are 4 of these "family values" republican scandals.

So far what I got out of this blog is that Democrats get a pass on sex scandals because they have no values to begin with.

What you should have gotten is that this guy is an idiot for thinking he could get away with this scott free, which goes for the rest of the people who pull this kind of stunt.

Also, Dems don't get a pass. McGreevy resigned (though there was a possible corruption element if memory serves) and Clinton was censured (whatever that means)...or something like that. Those are the only Democratic sex scandals that I can think of without looking it up.

John Edwards? I'm glad you've gotten so much of a hard-on for the Republican that you completely disregard your own political party. You just look sophomoric when you blog about these things.

You getting all hostile over this says more about you than it says about me.

Also, I have no political affiliation (both parties are too bought-off). Perhaps you should have asked instead of just assuming.
