Because it's hilarious, but I do see the irony. Think of it this way: If some big news company published a terrible untruth that was horribly false, and another smaller news channel reported on the other news...wouldn't seem just? The newsmaker becomes the news. Its all very politically sexual...as is CN.

I realize that, I just considered your post rather misleading because it had just seemed as if you were accusing Chimaera of taking the forums down for an excuse to spy on Spam-a-lot, which was clearly not the case.

I'll pretty much side with Chim on anything ever just because of my love for him. :v

The point of this wasn't to inform Spamalot.

I used to be fond of IAA once a log time ago, these days I just feel totally meh about them. So be it a joke or conspiracy I could not care less.

I think thats how a lot of people feel...they are showing more lulz than necessary. I for one find this case hilarious, but should these little episodes continue I think something needs to be done. ie: fire the IA guy.

Nobody other than Spamalot or IAA (or a few very close relatives (shoutout to Omni)) actually know what happened or what was going on. People outside of the "situation" getting involved just made things more confusing.

And just clearing up some misconceptions on what happened:

Chimaera isn't the forum owner who played the prank. Needless to say, he was one of the ones who decided to begin making up lies and false accusations with no substantial evidence as to who actually played the "prank". NationReaper from Spamalot was accused by various high-level government members in IAA as the one to hack the IAA forums. They even claimed that he faked logs and that they had proof that he had received Chimaera's password from his gf, which, of course, were never true.

The joke was made by the actual owner of the IAA forums, who thought it would be funny. Which, at least to Spamalot it was. At the time, IAA was ready to go to war with us over the prospect of a Spamalot-hacking-IAA-forums-incident. Once they discovered it was their own member, their attitude changed from furious to hilarious.

To even conceive of understanding why IAA's attitude is able to change so rapidly and why they'd be so willing to make up evidence to convict a Spamalot member of sabotage requires a full and in-depth understanding of the events leading up to and shortly after the Spamalot split from IAA, which I'm not going to reveal due to the simple idea of wanting some arguments to be left between friends and not shown to the Cyberverse in a light which inaccurately portrays what happened.

Well that's a horrible reason Locke, for shame. And to clarify upon what Facade/Stagger said just before. The true nature of events between Spamalot-IAA are known only to those involved, which doesn't even include all of IAA government so any statements trying to judge this event by people not directly involved are completely construed and not entirely factual. Also to clarify another point, Chimaera is no longer the Emperor in IAA, he had resigned a few days before Spamalot even left. Just another flaw in your lil blog Caleb that needs to be addressed.

And to comment on your poll. Neither Chimaera nor Penkala were completely right in what they did. Penkala went to the public with not all of the information, though I've already said that I'm glad that he did feel it was necessary to stand up for a friend. Chimaera handled the situation rather immaturely and while I understand his love for IAA, accusing and manipulating information against a completely innocent person is certainly a shameful act that I cannot forgive him for.
