Although the state of Oregon had declared itself independent some while ago, Prime Minister Akiyama was still unsure whether it would really have much of a future. Nothing was heard or seen from it. It could only be hoped that things were actually proceeding properly. And so, while she was more than busy in Tokyo and was at first a bit disappointed to have to come to Portland, the meeting location at least allowed her to check whether there was any progress. Japan already had to step in to solve the mess of one new nation, it was hoped that process was not to be repeated. For some seconds, Akiyama had played with the idea of using the battleship Akitsushima for the trip across the Pacific. It was after all equipped with a suite and quite a few amenities for such journeys. But then she had to give up on that for the obvious reason that several days on sea were hardly going to be acceptable and a flight would have to make do. Thus, the Japanese Airforce 1 was readied to carry the Prime Minister, together with several security staff to Portland. Of course, the authorities of Oregon would be informed of the fliht beforehand, so that they could arrange everything for the meeting.

Cloe looked out the window of what might as well have been her cell and schemed quietly. She'd been used so viciously over the last pair of years that it didn't even phase her anymore, but there was no question that escape was still heavily on her mind. Even moreso than usual if anything. Her mind had become strong from the long years of torture, her master had forced her to submit, broken her mind, made her his pet, kept her beautiful just for his use, but she had built herself back up gradually, in secret. Yes, escape was practically all she thought about. Some nights she would slip the loose bar out the window and squeeze through to walk along the little ledge just beneath, looking for some way to tell people about her suffering, to find some rescue, to escape. She had several options she knew of, though none of them were sure things in any way. Tonight would be different though. [hr] She was standing on the little ledge, knowing she couldn't leave the grounds without being caught and punished viciously, having already tried that once. There was a shortwave radio in one of these rooms, she would just have to find it and it would be game over. She had no idea how to use a radio like that but she had to try, there had to be someone listening somewhere that she could transmit to. There had to be something. She edged along the ledge carefully, the thing only being an inch or two wide, her heels the only things that were on it. She nearly fell, catching her breath after the slip of her foot. The fall from here might - might - not be fatal, but she was sure that she wouldn't be walking away at very least if she fell off of here. She moved more carefully, opening the window to the little room from the outside. and moving in to do her business. [hr] A transmission over Shortwave

Adella Winkelman sat her in desk within the lavish office recently given to her. Many others in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave her dirty looks either when they walk past her office or when she walked past them. They thought that the only reason that she received her position as a deputy minister of foreign affairs just because Kim was her older sister. However she didn't care, to be honest, her and her sister had a very strenuous relationship, they almost always bickered. Nevertheless she worked hard in her field and it was time for her to visit The North. Diplomatic Communication to the Nordisk Rike "Hello Comrades in the North. As Cascadia and the Nordisk Rike have never had any diplomatic talks before this present point we would like to open them. Now we understand if this is not appealing to anyone in your government. If it is however that would be wonderful. I am prepared to travel to the Nordisk Rike at a moments notice so I await your reply." -Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs-Adella Winkelman

Since the state's admittance into the United States of America, the State of Jefferson has long been composed of northern California and southern Oregon. Today the California Republic has finally discovered, in old files, an old proposal to separate the State of California into 6 different ones: South California, Central California, West California, Silicon Valley, North California, and even farther north, Jefferson. Jefferson was already a state proposal in motion at the time of this proposal, however in the Six California proposal, Jefferson was only in California. The California Senate has agreed to attempt to get Southern Oregon. In light of this, a letter would be sent to it's current owner, Cascadia. Attachment: PRIVATE: The Grand Army of the California Republic would begin to prepare for either a peaceful occupation, or a battle. In charge of forces would be Grand Admiral William Donney, seasoned military sniper, and former member of the California Separatist Movement that founded the Republic 3 years ago. The California Senate would prepare for a response either peaceful or hostile. President Gerald Herald also got back from Halifax in time to sign off on the military movement into Jefferson, which was now completely confirmed and ready. OOC: I have not finished setting up my military, so if you could not make any attacks of any sort while I am gone(which is until like 5 or 6 PM) I WOULD like to resolve this peacefully though, I mean it's not much land.

The Imperium had began surveillance of Alaska over the past several months, with the strategic importance of the largest former state of America, and a history entwined with Japan, the movements begun by Cascadia into British Columbia and the Yukon were a transparent move to continue onward into Alaska. Katsuro decided something had to be done, and the more radical of the military had agreed. the 1st fleet would park itself 100 miles south of Kodiak Island, setting up a radar picket and launching AWACS patrols as well as beginning ASW operations to ensure no surprises. The 2nd fleet would make the same movements 100 miles south of the Kenai Peninsula. Ten of the Imperium's SÅryÅ«-class submarines would lay in wait in a line across the Gulf of Alaska. OOC: I can provide a map to a GM if needed) The 2nd Corps of the Imperium marines would land on the Alaskan Peninsula. with UAVs observing the Cascadian advance, moving by helicopters to Kenai, everything to the west would eventually be claimed by the Imperium, but for now Kotzebue. Kodiak, Bethal, Homer, and most critically, Barrow would be the targets of choice for the Imperium. Military presence within cities would be kept to a minimal. The Imperium forces were used to the Arctic, they would maintain vigilance until the Cascadian response came.

While some of the more hardline within the Imperium Council wished for more extreme actions in order to ensure Pacific Security, Hawaii was no longer in the hands of TIkal, but instead the Plains Federation, a nation that had also assisted in the Tripartite War. Rather than provoke their friend, Kazuko elected to arrange a conference between the Pacific nations.

Classified- Development on a new extremely versatile aircraft used to quick transport has been a partial success. They dropship is an extremely capable aircraft, fulfilling the role of an excellent infiltration craft. The drawback is the cost of the program coupled with the individual cost of each aircraft. Costs exceeding 800 million for the program, and over 350 million per ship. Cuts to the program have only allowed the construction of three dropships. Specifically they are going to be used with a new unit within the Rangers, Ebony Blade. With a length of 30.7 metres and a wingspan of 25.1 metres it is large. The troop bay can carry 12 troops (2 standing, 10 sitting). Under the aft overhang, the dropship is able to carry either an APC or an IFV. The three dropships now in use are going to be going through some testing before the army confirms its decision on only building three.

In an effort to better understand the world around us the Royal Kingdom of Cascadia has declared ownership to the Research station of Mcmurdo, Antarctica, and the Research station of Eureka, Nunavut. Eureka, Nunavut The research team of around 100 cascadians disembarked the CCGS Jed to find the station in complete ruin. Although it was well known it had been abandoned since the fall of the original Canadian government many years ago, they still didn't expect to find this. They began to attempt fix the outpost by repairing basic infrastructure, such as electricity and basic communications. While the researchers were hard at work the CCGS Jed began patrols to search for any nearby civilization and coldwater pirates. (OOC: 1 of 7) Mcmurdo, Antarctica When the research team of 175 Cascadians arrived to Mcmurdo station by the means of the CCGS Oliver, they discovered they staton wasn't as badly damaged as Eureka but still in disarray. As such they echoed the actions of their compatriots in Eureka and began fixing the most basic infrastructure by repairing walls and ceilings, by getting power to the station, and opening up basic communications to the homeland. Just as well the CCGS Oliver began patrols around the station before the ice could begin setting in. (OOC: 1 of 7)

We here in Cascadia are quite happy to see a new government has formed down south and would very much like to open up some diplomacy between our two nations. Also, as you are a new nation, we would like to inquire if you would like to contract our company, Stahlrim, to build your weapons. I await your reply. -Ryal King of Cascadia, Alan Wymore.

The sun burned down heavily on the great, coniferous forests that ever so lightly caressed the Black Hills with their gnarled, deep roots. The two North American Neighbors, Cascadia and the NSNA, met here, on these hallowed grounds as friends. It was under the rare shafts of sunlight that slept silently on the undergrowth that General Wallace waited with his most trusted advisors of the Anvil. The NSNA was here to sign a MDP with Cascadia in all things concerning foreign hostility, and an ODP for unwarranted American hostility. Though the NSNA was young, there was some merit to be found in signing a treaty. It paved the foundation for future works, it put the two nations hand in hand. General Wallace was a Marine at heart, and so knew of efficiency and how to weigh risk against gain. This was a risk yes, but the gain far out compassed that negative consequence. With a relaxed posture of Modified POA, General Wallace waited, a bead of sweat slithering down his brow, as the Cascadians came about.

Ever since Jake had been promoted to Rear Admiral he had been under a large amount of stress. He had been one of the few naval officers to defect from The Commonwealth. For that he had been given a lot of scrutiny from the other officers. It might have been the fact that he was only 38. Jake didn't really give much thought to it. There were more important things, such as running a navy. Although it's not like becoming an admiral didn't come with loads of perks. He could tell just about anyone what to do, there was a cabin in his ship just for him. Did we mention the fact that he was given a brand new, top of the line Halycon-Class Frigate! He had it all. One day though, a call came in to the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). About a plea for help from the Island of Vancouver in Canada. War between the ever so war hungry Canadian Clans had started. The people of Victoria and Vancouver were caught directly in the crossfire. That's where Cascadia comes in. We are the closet power to them. They asked for help and we will give it. The choice was given to Jake. Would he take the fleet to Vancouver and assist the civilians while fifth corp was established. He quickly answered, "I'm on my way."
