Ushakov nods to the Athenian Empress “With all due respect to Her Majesty, if Prime Minister Medvedev and the rest of the government thought that way we wouldn’t’ have declared war on France, would we? Nor would we have stood and applauded our neighbors when Belarus was divided up amongst us all. If we were to give credence to that kind of thought then it serves to reason that Belarus should have been reunited with Slavorussia in its entirety. However the world is changing, just because one is a Slav does not mean they should be unified under one national banner. Russians are different from Slovenes, Serbs are different from Poles, Ukrainians are different from Czechs, and all have their own national consciousness and deserve their right to choose whom they join or don’t join. In many ways, I admit, we have ourselves to blame for contradicting ideology. Pan-Slavism has long been a tool of the Imperial and Soviet governments to justify occupation of Slavic states. If there is to be a vote then it should happen immediately and without delay so as to prevent outside forces from tampering with the hearts and minds of the people.”

James turned a cold look on Ushakov. "Pan-Slavism may have been a tool of past regimes, but for us, it has been a source of strength for our people and our government. Slavs are Slavs, and we've removed the differences that kept us apart. A Pole is just as Slavic as a Serb. Now I fail to see the point of this debate, seeing as the issue of Slovenia and Croatia were 'settled' earlier in the meeting."

"The statement is just as it looks. Should the Kingdom of Cochin or any other country except the VDL march into France proper we will defend them. Such a war however would be limited to the combat zone in France"
"In that case, the we await further input from VDL before committing on the further course of the war. It is the responsibility of VDL to ensure that its other allies do not consider our intervention for their defense as an offensive act," Gen. Mahesh Varma said.

“No it most certainly has not been settled. Until an agreement is reached the issue stays on the table. I’ve gone ahead to humor your claim that Slovenia and Croatia are being liberated, now humor us. Let the people vote as soon as possible, without one sided influences mucking up their ability to choose.”

"Although I do not speak for the Tahoan government I can assure you that they would support an immediate plebiscite. As for the space elevator...well, with the exception of the Rebel Army the Tahoe Republic is the most technologically advanced nation in this coalition and will assist with the management of the space elevator."

Meanwhile, people in the Slovenian and Croatian parts of the former GDR were demonstrating against being annexed by the Slavic Federation.
"We do not wish to become part of this oppressive and neo-fascist regime. We want to dictate our own actions!" was broadcast and-powered by back-up generators.

Similarly, people in Austria, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg were protesting against becoming part of the VDL again.
"If the VDL wants to get this land back, they'll have to kill all of us! We don't want to become part of something we didn't agree to! No vote, no nothing had happened when Obama "united" with northern Germany. He denied us our free vote! The unification is illegal!" they argued, once again broadcasting by the use of back.up generators powering their stations.

Baldur spoke up in response to the recent broadcast, "Asking if Bavaria, Austria, and Baden-Württemburg want to be reunited with Germany? Those states are German, they should remain with Germany. This is ridiculous. Who do these communists think they are dictating the will of Germans? Has the sausage line really divided the Germans that much? If so, I blame the Holy Roman Empire. Pigs, the lot of them."

OOC: It was never my intention to make Baldur seem as crazy as I've been making him >.>, I'm going to try to even him out.
Visari smiled, "For the time being, Slovenia and Croatia will become Slavic Republics. After one month, a public democratic plebiscite will be held in both countries."
"We can agree with this. I personally believe that the region is better off being either annexed by the Slavs or otherwise becoming a protectorate of at least Slavic Federation and another nation, however, ultimately, the best option of all is a Democratic vote scheduled for the next month - Before they vote, the region needs to recover some semblance of normality. We can send international delegations to verify the validity of the vote, I am sure that Slavic Federation would have no objections to this. In the end, what the Croatian and Slovenes - or Yugoslavs - want, will be done. As for Germany and Austria, it will remain VDL."

Martens looks towards the Athenian and the Cochin Representatives.

"We may be able to achieve a proper compromise by only planning it so that Cochin forces fight within the region of Elsass-Lothringen. Technically, Cochin would be able to defend us then without needing to invade France. What do you think of that?"

A few non-communist leaders from the former Socialist Sslovene Rrepublic sent a message to Germany and the Slavic Federation:

"Would it be possible for us to be an independent nation for some time before finalizing the future?"

OOC: Can I be Slovenia, with the part of Croatia??
OOC: I agree with Slavo here, we can better just hand it over to Vektor immediately. At least it leaves Slovenian culture alive.
