MostGloriousLeader Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 19, 2010 In order to grow the economy of the Altarian Republic the Grand Chancellor has sent to the Republic Council an economics policy initiative. In it he recognizes the need for foreign investment in the economy in order to start it up on the road to industrialization. As such there are numerous incentives such as tax breaks and extremely low interest loans and grants available to foreign and domestic companies that wish to set up shop in the nation. The Altarian Republic has also recently discovered a fairly large oil field withing the nation. While we have expertise in mining, oil extraction is something our nation has no actual experience in. As such we would like to open up a bidding process on up to 3 major oil fields(for now) for foreign companies to develop and extract. It should be understood by the bidding companies that there will be several conditions they must agree to if they do in fact win a contract. 1) Non Altarian workers will still be held to our national and local laws. While we will not prosecute said foreign citizens who break our laws out of deference to their home countries we will send them back and (if the crime was severe enough) ban them from ever returning. 2) The oil fields and facilities your company develop will, in the far future, be nationalized and ownership of the facilities and fields will be given to Altarian companies (when they develop). When this occurs your company will be reimbursed the full initial construction cost of all said facilities. 3) Your company must hire and train Altarian workers in addition to your own staffs. 4) Your company will sell oil and petroleum products to the Altarian Republic at a relatively low price (to be negotiated) In order to make the investment worth doing with all of the conditions above it has been determined that these benefits will be conferred upon any company that wins a oil development contract: 1) No taxes shall be levied on your company. 2) Security will be provided by the Altarian Republic Army for workers and facilities. 3) Worker housing shall be constructed by the Republic according to your company's specifications 4) Your companies other (non-oil related products) will have tariffs and sales taxes dropped for their purchase. Remember that this is a negotiation/bid so obviously the best offers shall win contracts. Other factors that will heavily influence consideration is your company's expertise and experience as well as relations and locations of your home countries.
