Mandalore's Navy Begins

Nagato the Great

Recommended Posts

Another great achievement of the Carter regime, Mandalore has finally acquired a navy. Two corvettes are the first to be built, the MNN Jackal and the MNN Meteor.

"Once again Mandalore takes another step to make itself more major in the world." General Jacob Borissean was quoted to have said about it. "The satellite was the major step, but now that we have a navy we can't be caught by surprise at sea."

The two ships will be training in exercises involving patrols around Mandalorian waters, and the MNN Meteor will make brief forays into international waters.

Kingdom of Cochin congratulates Mandalore on being a naval force.

Royal Cochin Admiralty

Reconnaissance photographs of the Mandalorean corvettes are being observed when a Lieutenant asked, " Commander, dont these corvettes look remarkably similar to our Sabre class Corvettes?"

The senior officer looked at the satellite imagery and referred some photographs of CNS Cutlass.

"Either it is a remarkable coincidence or it is an act of espionage. A leak from Cochin Shipyards would be a grave thing indeed. Anyway this must be investigated."

OOC: :P .

Chairman Wesker was not questioning your... reasons for having such ships, he questions their ability to withstand bombardment sir, obviously fire support vessels they will be used as for whatever reason the Mandalorian government see fit, but can they withstand counter attack?

Wesker is a great beleiver in firepower, and although he does seriously consider Mandalores new toys as a good thing, he beleives it may have been prudent to save up for a bigger boat.

Chairman Wesker congratulates Mandalore on its achievment.

Chairman Wesker also wonders how long those toyboats would hold against our coastal defences.

Chairman Wesker should worry about Cruise Missle Swarms from long range, well outside and coastal defenses.

Chairman Wesker should beware of large navies with carriers.

We were not implying violence against Mandlore, we have extensive reinforced coastal batteries, all of which are built INTO our coast, not on it.

Cruise missile strikes would do near to no damage against the mountains and cliffs they are build inside of.

As for navies with carriers, providing they stay 32 miles off shore they are fine, the coastal batteries can hit over the horizon, and again cannot be easily hit by aircraft or missiles.

And to get in aircraft range means you come into range of the AA defences.

I am by no means implying my Island is... impregnible because it certainly isnt, but an air or naval strike force would suffer losses disproportionate to our own.

The reason behind the comment was, that of course some navies do not have carriers or the ability to paratroop an army over Thousands of miles.

so a naval group would have to come in close to provide fire support for any amphibious landing.

Corvettes are close fire support platforms, can you see where i am going with this?.

Wesker should be thinking if he cares what Molakia thinks.

The answer he came too is no.

He also wonders if Molakia was threatening the Umbrella Corporation.

sorry he cant respond in person, he is responding via text message, he is currently engaged in other activities of Government.

Ever heard of bunker busters? All you need is a couple hundred to play with and your cliffs and mountains will be reduced to the world's largest pile of gravel and pebbles.

And for your AA defenses? Cruise missiles and stealth bombers would finish your AA defenses. If they are heavily armored and fortified, then bunker buster missiles would finish them off.
