The Caucasian artillery pummeled the Quad trenches. Over 2,000 men were incapacitated from the shelling and bombardment. The Quad medical facilities were inadequate and screams could be heard as amputations were performed. However, the men remained in their bunkers, undeterred from their vision for a free Atyrau.

The port and city of Atyrau were indeed void of a large Quad military. However snipers and soldiers dressed in civilian clothing attacked the Caucasian troops periodically while they were inside the city. They also made use of RPGs and IEDs, even using over a dozen explosive laden fishing boats to try and ram the Caucasia transports.

The Quad pilots had sophisticated technology however they were only mediocre pilots. When locked on, they immediately fired their missiles at the Caucasians before breaking off. Three were immediately destroyed with the retaliatory volley and the others began circling around to engage the enemy fighters. It seemed numerical superiority gave the Caucasians a large advantage on the aerial battlefield.

The 200,000 Federal troops and 75,000 Caucasian troops were heavily fortified on the outskirts of the town and well prepared for the charging communists. The communists, which had taken roughly 10,000 in casualties and had 1/5 of their tanks destroyed from the bombers and artillery, carefully advanced onto the city using the blizzard like conditions and poor visibility. Fortunately the Federal troops were equipped with infrared and heartbeat sensors on their guns and knew quite well where the communists were. Skirmishes broke out along the front and hundreds became casualties. The majority of the remaining 80 Communist tanks began firing on the Caucasian line, hoping there lack of experience in winter conditions would make them easy picking.

Shelling continued; General Aleksandrov wasn't satisfied with the result of the last few volleys. Another twenty self propelled artillery pieces were brought forth and began to fire.

Major General Ivanov posted his own snipers around the city, ordering them to shoot at anyone that held a military weapon and did not wear a Caucasian uniform. 114 Caucasian soldiers were shot by snipers, but the fishing boats never reached the transports due to RPGs and rifle fire.

The Tupolev Tu-160s turned and began to fly over the Quad lines; 35 payloads were dropped over the trenches. Meanwhile, four F-22s were shot down, and the pilots took note of the slightly sloppy flight of the F-1s. As each had been chosen due to having at least three years of experience, they were multiple times more experienced than the Quad pilots. Realizing this, they combined their numbers with their skill, firing at the Quad planes while they were engaged and avoiding missile fire where possible.

3/4 of the Caucasian troops had been equipped with infrared goggles, so any communist troops making for the line was picked off at range. The infrared wasn't as helpful against the cold steel of the tanks, but most Caucasians knew that the giant shadow in the distance firing shells at them was a tank. RPGs were fired at the communist tanks. A total of 241 Caucasian troops were killed in the first exchange.

A further 1,500 troops feel victim to the volleys of artillery fire. The trenches were littered with the dead and dying, and many of the bodies were being used to reinforce the sandbags and trenchworks. Many of the men started to become frustrated that the enemy was not in range yet to go outside was suicide.

The Caucasian snipers had begun the game of cat-and-mouse with the Quad snipers. 50 Quad snipers were confirmed killed, many found in the spectacular skyscrapers that once dominated this thriving metropolis. In addition, over 221 militia were killed. The remaining militia began becoming more creative, and switched into Caucasian uniforms whenever they ambushed a soldier.

The seven remaining fighters were ecstatic when they received confirmation of 4 confirmed kills. However, they knew their time was limited and attempted to outrun the pursuing fighters to engage the bombers currently raining hell upon the trenches. Four more FRG planes were shot down, and each chose to ram their plane into the largest group of enemy artillery they could find.

The fighting was particularly intense at the Feds line. Over 4,000 communists were killed or wounded yet they came in waves, and eventually began piling into the FRG trenches. The fighting soon became hand-to-hand and the FRG soldiers required martial arts practice was soon put to good use. After half a day of fighting in the trenches, a further 3,421 communists were casulties while the Fed suffered 1,287. The communists retreated to regroup for the night and the FRG troops moved back a block for better security to repel the next attack.

The T-94 was no match for the FRG G2 MBT. With longer range and better accuracy, the G2 was eating the T94s for breakfast. Only 2 G2s were disabled while over 23 T94 tanks had been confirmed kills. The MBT division shifted south to engage the tanks which were raining fire on the allies. In fact, over 2,500 Communists had been incapacitated by the Caucasians. This was mostly due to the fact the commies were stuck in a deadly crossfire when they realized the Caucasians could clearly spot their charge.

Aleksandrov remained determined to be more patient than the Quads. He wanted to either weaken them to the point of an easy fight, or wait until they broke cover and attacked the guns.

After another 42 Caucasians were killed and were found without uniforms, Major General Ivanov ordered the Atyrau Occupation Force to begin using Pass Codes; words in a mix of Georgian and Azeri that combined for safe words, confirming that the man in the uniform was indeed Caucasian. Any man in Caucasian uniform that did not know the pass code corresponding to the question asked were shot down.

As each artillery piece was spread out, the planes would only take out one or two at a time. A total of six artillery pieces were destroyed, but would be replaced easily. Two Tupolev Tus were shot down, and the pilots directed them to crash into the trenchworks. Both pilots ejected from their planes and parachuted on the safe side of the battle lines, crawling back to the artillery.

The rear Caucasian line of 25,000 men discreetly boarded their ships again. Those ships moved out in the blizzard, using the snow to remain hidden. They sailed for twenty minutes, then neared the shore again. The Caucasian soldiers landed behind the rear line of the Communists and made their way forward. As the Communists advanced, a hail of bullets, RPGs, and grenades flew towards their back line.

Aleksandrov remained determined to be more patient than the Quads. He wanted to either weaken them to the point of an easy fight, or wait until they broke cover and attacked the guns.

Very few Quad were now being hit from the artillery. With more room in the trenches and less soldiers, they were able to hide in bunkers and had enough food to stay put for the next few weeks if necessary.

154 more militia and snipers were killed. They were running low on men so they decided to mount one final stand. The remaining 50 or so snipers doubled their efforts and the final 1,200 militia formed a ring around the city. They hid amongst the shrubbery and rocks in the sand and began raining mortars onto the city.

The planes scored direct hits onto two bunkers and killed 300 unsuspecting quad infantrymen. The three remaining Wolverines used their burners and maneuvered right behind a squadron of bombers. The leader Pilot Nikonov and his two wingmen waited for lock-on confirmation before expending the last of their missiles. They were able to launch their missiles before the two wingmen burst into flames and crashed into the desert. Now it was up to Pilot Nikonov.

"Now what?" a colonel asked Aleksandrov.

The general smirked.

"Ready the bunker busters."

One squadron of Tupolev Tu 160s were recalled. They were equipped with a set of GBU-28 Bunker Buster Missiles and set out again. They soared over the Quad bunkers, dropping one of the 5,000 pound bombs on each one.

Having figured out the snipers' tendencies of hiding in skyscrapers, the Caucasians were no longer falling victim to them as frequently, losing only 8 men to the snipers, and 64 to the mortars. Now, whenever they saw a flash from a tower not containing a Caucasian, a Caucasian sniper would fire at the area, or a squad would enter the city.

Ivanov ordered 8,000 of his men to return to the boats and get out around the city. They set up a ring around the Quad's ring, and out of range of their mortars, and advanced towards them, opening fire as soon as they were in range.

Three of the squadron's bombers were shot down, and they also directed their planes into the trenches and bunkers. One of them was able to eject safely near the artillery, but the other two landed in the trenches with their assault rifles. Deciding that it would be smarter to shoot than surrender, they opened fire on the Quad troops nearest them. The fighters, meanwhile zoned in on Nikonov's plane, locked on, and fired their missiles.

The Caucasian sneak attack worked. In a pincer-like attack, the Caucasians attacked from the west and the Feds from east, crushing the communist forces in the middle. After half a day of intense fighting, over 20,000 communist forces became casualties; the result of artillery, tank, infantry, aerial, and naval bombardment. They immediately began fleeing to Illulissat with the allied forces following. Only 2,346 Fed casualties resulted from the day fighting.

Atyrau

The fighting on the outskirts of Atyrau was intense. The 1000 men fought for their lives, trying to take down as many Caucasians as they could. They repositioned their mortars and RPGs and opened fire while charging the Caucasians with their AK-47 rifles. After five hours of an intense firefight, the Quad ring broke and the men became sporadic. Two hours later, when over 578 Quad troops have become incapacitated, they surrendered, effectively giving control of the town to the Caucasians.

In the trenches on the Atyrau border, the men who were being bombarded heard the awful news. They immediately lost morale and attempted to contact the FRG and Caucasia governments for a ceasefire.

The pincer strategy had worked, but due to a lack of cover, 1,459 of the ambush part were killed, in addition to 814 defenders.

The Caucasian forces lost another 344 men to the militia, but the victory proved worth it. The militias were rounded up, disarmed, and taken into Caucasian custody until the FRG stabilized.

The Quad received the following demands from the Caucasian forces.

1. Turn over all weaponry to the Caucasian forces.
2. Allow your resistance to be taken into Caucasian custody pending charges from Grøenlandia
3. Withdraw claims of independence and return Atyrau and the surrounding regions to FRG control
4. Turn over those in charge of the independence movement.

As the militias were rounded up, Pilot Nikonov was hit in an engine and rammed into the desert, brain matter splattering the windshield as his seat failed to eject. This was truly the last sign of Quad resistance.

**To Caucasian Forces**

After a vote, the Quadumvirate has agreed to accept these terms. We are pulling out of Groenlandia immediately and we only hope they will allow us greater autonomous rule when they have defeated the Communists, which we also find despicable.

With over half their forces unable to fight, morale was low amongst the Communist troops. They had no tanks, artillery, planes, or ships and were essentially cut off from the world. With the combined support of the Federal troops and Caucasia, it seemed obvious that the communist troops could not win.

Back in Stromfjord where the revolution began, the masses began rioting. They wanted to stop the revolution as quick as they had begun it. Although heavily censored, information was trickling in that their forces has suffered a serious defeat and were beyond hopes of winning. Running low on supplies and with no assistance from the outside world they had decided to stop this needless revolution.

Pelosi Nancydottir was dining at the Governor's mansion. She seemed unconcerned about outside events as she ate her filet mignon with the diamond encrusted silverware. She was just finishing her glass of wine when the doors were blown off their hinges, and 30 masked men walked in. Without talking, they tied up Pelosi and dragged her outside, as her family and communist officials at the table looked on with horror.

A man stood on the podium and simply stated "The revolution is dead." before a flick of his figures. The floor opened and Pelosi's feet suddenly dropped as she slowly suffocated to death. The sight she saw would be similar to the one the Governor had seen only weeks before.

The FRG government was working overtime to handle all the new information. There were cheers when the news of the Quadumvirate and Communist surrenders had been received, but they understood it was essential to maintain security and more importantly, never have this situation happen again. After a meeting with the heads of the military and war departments, the following changes were instituted:

-Osean national guardsmen were to be on duty in the city of Stromfjord to ensure no looting and that rioting did not get out of control. They were allowed to arrest any people causing public disrest but communism was no longer banned so sickles and hammers were soon to be a common sight in the city.

-Public construction crews were to be implemented to begin repairs of all war torn areas, specifically the cities of Frederiksdal and Stromfjord.

A week after the civil war, President Ty held a press conference and began reading from his prepared speech

"Citizens of Grøenlandia, people of the world,

I come before you in the aftermath of the bloodiest civil war fought on Greenland permafrost. Tens of thousands of good young men died in this needles bloodbath and we are truly indebted for their bravery. When something like this occurs, it is evident that something in the system went wrong, I am here today to correct those problems before they happen again. Effective immediately, communism is no longer banned and it is illegal to ever ban communism again. As the High Court noted, it is a serious breach of personal freedoms granted to citizens and this will not be tolerated.

In addition, it has been decided in cooperation with Quadumvirate forces to turn over our Atyrau holdings to our friends in Caucasia. It is too far away and we feel our allies will better be able to rule it. Alongside this, the current territories of Monaco, Arkhangelsk, the Revillagigedo Islands, and La Palma and the province of Osea are hereby given self-governing autonomous rule. They shall be allowed to rule themselves and the FRG shall simply oversee them.

Finally, it has been decided that as president I shall retain some emergency powers such as the ability to censor and suspend habeas corpus at any time. It takes too long to transfer these powers during times of war and by having them we can respond to disasters and conflicts more quickly.

As this time I will take any questions" he finished as citizens all around the country stood up and cheered, clapping happily with the final resolution of the conflict.

Construction has begun on the cities of Frederiksdal and Stromfjord and is expected to take months to complete. Fortunately the major economic and government centers were not injured. In addition, the FRG military is once again rebuilding at full strength.

OOC: Full strength already? How, exactly?

IC: "It is good to see that this civil war has at least taught Greenland the value of moderation, though it is regrettable so many citizens had topay the price."

OOC: Typo, actually.
