The Nisshōki (Flag) of The Shinsei Shikkoku Teikoku [sST]

Due to the recent events within our nations, including the rising of the Fists of Harmony and the rising nationalism among our Japanese population, God-Empress Haruhi Suzumiya had made a decision. As of late, referendums among the cabinet have swung back and forth. The ministries have debated with the God-Empress, and have come up with their decisions. Due to our Japanese roots, and cultural ties to that land, we have decided to bring forth the Japanese culture more forwardly within our state, and make it more apparent. While 90% of our population is Japanese, however, the Ainu, Siberian Ethnic Groups, Russian, and Manchu populations within the Empire shall be respected. Their languages shall be recognized as regional languages, although Japanese shall remain the national.

In short, recent actions have thus compelled us to a more culturally united nation, and a tighter government. Haruhi no longer feels compelled to hold this nation back among her self-absorption, nor allow it to drift into an odd state of affairs because of it's absolute naming after her. However, this does not change our religious views. Haruhiism, since it is tied deeply into Shinto roots, and has some Buddhist philosophies, shall remain the state religion, as over 98% of our population is true to the belief. As for the flag, we feel it more appropriate to drift to a more historically Japanese flag, one that ties deep into our culture. Thus, we have given birth to our Nisshoki. Nisshoki, or "Sun Flag", is our newly adopted flag, with the sun in the middle, branching out representing the light and sun of our nation, and it's center position, as it's close importance to our religious beliefs. The kanji stands for love, showing that our Empress, and civilians are dedicated to helping one another, and befriending their neighbors. The colors are the former Haruhiist imperial colors, Black and Red. As for name, we have decided inevitably to go with the name Shinsei Shikkoku Teikoku, or SST for short. This name means, in English, Holy Black Empire, black representing the main imperial colors, and holy being our reverence to the God-Empress.

This state is a successor to the past, and as such we wish for all of our previous treaties to be indefinitely carried over. We also recognize, according to history, a Japanese cultural empire was once existant in the Pacific. However, this nation was brutal towards foreigners, and even it's own populace. We strive for the betterment of our people, and peace in our realm and the pacific. We shall forever hope to repair this blemish upon Japanese culture known as the DKT or Neo Japan.

The House of Karafuto, and the strengthening of our Imperial government, as well as our dedication to strive, and endure for the future has led to our culture, and the referendum, passing wholeheartedly. As such, we hereby proclaim the Shinsei Shikkoku Teikoku the successor of the Haruhiist Empire.
