The Fire Dragons were already in the sky ready to burn down Elder Camps.The Elder Dragons got into positions and waited for these new "allies" to fight along with them. The took a bag full of scrolls that had a basic history of Olympia and its people. (National geographic kind of stuff) Upon leaving they went to the harbour master and asked to speak with the leader. What must we do! Get the Water Dragons there. Tell them to hold out the earth Dragons are weak against water. Then speak to these "ally" Dragons from the other lands and ask if 50 of them can defend the gates and we will keep the skies clear since the Fire Dragons are greatly weakened to around 35,000 only and the Earth Dragons are still about 100,000 and we have only troops of about 100,000 remaining to battle. Yes Dragon Sergeant! They were short on resources but with the new allies and their technology the battle seemed to be going their way. We do not know what you mean by the word "guns" but we can tell you what is happening. These lands are owned by us the Elder Dragons. For the past millenia our nieghbours the Dragons of Fire have been selfish and have been at war with us for our lands. The wiped out many tribes such as the White Ones, The Double Headed ones and the Ice Dragons. What is left of us are the Earth, Fire, Water and us the Elder Dragons. They recently got allies from the Earth Dragon and decided to invade the holy city of Tarsis which is a stronghold of the Dragons of Water. As they are peaceful dragons and our allies we mobilized and went to defend them. You have arrived in the early days of our battle. The battle started only yesterday but has claimed nearly 270,000 Dragon Lives out of about 500,000 totally fighting for both sides. We predict more then 350,000 deaths will be there but we fight on in the name of peace. We also thank you for your gifts and in return here take this an elder scroll. The Fire Dragons would see an ill portent coming from the direction of the Elder Dragon lines.. as great columns of smoke shot up from the ground in front of them at great speeds, to heights which natural flight would not take them. Moments later, a hydra of hundrend of tongues of smoke came blistering from the top of that column down upon them. It was approximately 120 missiles, each X-4 type wire-guided AAM was fired from an individual Dragon Empire Airforce J-1 Jetsuit Pilot (P-80 shooting star equivalent). Maelstrom Vortex Posted February 15, 2009 Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) The second wave of missiles came down at their rear lines.. their goal.. absolute chaos in the ranks with Fire Dragons surging forward and flying backwards.. hoping to generate a lot of mid-air collisions and excessive attrition injuries. Flying through the missiles to their targets. Burning everything in their way. The rest not so much. They were flying away from the weapons. Many were leaving the battlefield. The Ground Sergeant sent a message to General Raistalin about their problems. On the grounds the Earth Dragons watched their comrades fall one by one and couldn't do anything to help. They were stuck at the gates. The Elder Dragons asked their Allies if they could send a bombing run towards the gates to kill the Earth Dragons as well. They strafed the earth dragons in the lead using both bullets.. and poison spit from their jaws. They flew in a V pattern in the attack, slightly overlapping firepower so that the munitions were evenly laid over the area. This was an incredibly disciplined Air Corps... 10 of the flight flew off to interdict the rushing Fire Dragons who were burning things. They would get on the tails of the fire breathers and open up with their 6x 0.50 in (12.7 mm) machine guns, each gun was shoulder mounted with the barrels pointing directly up when the dragon stood.. and straight ahead of flight path when inf light. The gates were opened and the water and Elder Dragons attacked and with the Storm Dragons attacking them as well the Earth Dragons retreated. Seeing more Fire Dragons flying away the Earth Dragons retreated. Stop the attacks. Let them retreat screamed Saphira. We shall give them a days head start before we attack their home and make them our allies and then move north. Call the Storm Dragons back home and tell them to meet us for planning tonight and for attack tomorrow. Once they arrived the Eldest Dragon Spoke- You have fought well my new friends. I thank you for coming. When you arrived today I knew the battle was in our hands but then again faster then expected. You shall receive the three crowns medal which only I have received for my military service in the Dragon Hierarchy. But enough of that, We have decided to attack the Northern Lands by sea tomorrow and surround the Red and Green Dragons on all sides. Then we plan to lead a coalition attack to kill General Raistalin and Sovereign Arbiter so that we can have ally tribes all over. But we need your help in planning the attacks. So any ideas? I say we do a pre-emptive strike, taking down hardened positions and then your troops conduct their landings. The fact that no one here has any form of armament is baffling to us. The Field staff were under the control of the Storm Dragons as the Elders and General wished for it. This war could be the breaking point for the Elder Dragons. Maelstrom Vortex Posted February 15, 2009 Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) The air strikes began with the Storm Dragons performing high altitude dive bombing runs with 250 lb bombs on the defensive locations of the enemies.. fortifications, structures were targeted. They established a CAP intent on not letting any Fire Dragons off the ground. A set of surrender notices were dropped over the fire dragon encampment with instructions to hoist a white flag and to wear white-armbands if they were surrounding. The beaches were cleared, and kept clear by a flight of 12 storm dragons for the water dragons to make their landings. They reached the beaches above the Earth Dragon Stronghold and scouting for any dragons they found none. They were waiting for the sky teams of Elder Dragons to land and scout the land for any dragons. They moved a little further in and saw a stronghold. They were dragons of amazing beauty. Cease all attacks for the timebeing. Who is your leader Asked the sergeant. The dragons pointed to an elderly dragon. I am Sergeant Witwicky and we are from the Elder race of dragons. We came here to annex your town to save it from the Fire Dragons.[/i Thank you, but our holy gates are broken whatever shall we do? We can get men on that immediately as long as you swear your fealty to the Elder Dragons. Fealty? Will we get peace? We are the last of the Unique Dragons and we do not want war. On the honour of my father and our elders you shall have peace. Then we shall take the oath. After about 1hour of Oath taking the Elder Dragons met new friends and decided to take a break in this new stronghold. The Elder of Of Peace was about to arrive and were going to have discussions with this new leader "Nixon" on the safety of this holdings.
